Dog-friendly House w/Central AC, Ocean View, Private Washer/Dryer, Free WiFi

Pirate's Lair is the perfect family vacation hideaway. It is close to the Frisco beach (only five lots away), yet near to the sound and near four-wheel-drive access. The ground level has lots of concrete parking, carports, an outside shower, and a basketball goal. The first living level has four spacious bedrooms, each with a TV. At the end of the hall, the large bedroom has access to the full bath with a double-vanity (also accessed by the hall) and a laundry nook. The second level opens up to tall cathedral ceilings and a full bath. You'll have a hard time dividing your time between the front covered deck with a picnic table, the back sundeck (a must at sundown), or the beach at sunrise. The living and dining areas are well equipped and expansive. The kitchen is fully equipped. Want a relaxing getaway? Look no further than Pirate's Lair.

Things to know:
You will be required to sign an additional lease agreement upon making a booking which will be sent to your email. You will not be able to check-in until we have received your signature electronically. Please contact us directly if you do not receive this agreement.


Please note: Guests have access to the Club Hatteras Pool Facility. Additional details around this facility will be shared in your check-in email and during the check-in process. The club is typically open Mid-May to Mid-October, depending on weather.

Awesome place!

Great place with a room with 4 twin beds for the kids. Water was always hot for showers, washer and dryer are larger which was great for towels. This was our third time staying here, and there is always an upgrade and good upkeep.

Excellent house and location

We loves our stay this past week as it was just me and my wife and the location made it effortless to get to the beach. Tremendous amount of room and the decks have excellent views. Would stay there again if at all possible next year

Plenty of room for the family and pet friendly. Kitchen has every pot and pan you need. 5 tv's so everyone can watch what they want.

This home had everything we needed for the week and was very clean upon arrival. Location is great and short walk to the beach. Captive bedroom made privacy an issue for connected rooms but we knew that would be the case when we rented it. Would stay there again.

Perfect location, and plenty of room

We truly felt like this was home away from home as soon as we arrived. Everyone had a space to get away, and the upstairs was perfect for our movie/cards/game nights. Short walk to the beach, over a small dune - that even our 13yr old Lab climbed a few times on his way to the ocean. It was just what we needed - and we will definitely return the next time we visit Frisco.

Family time at its best

The 1 minute walk to the beach was awesome. The house was plenty large enough for our 6 adults that stayed. the area is very quiet and relaxing. We enjoyed the beach, the small towns, the local shops and the fishing. Very slow paced atmosphere.

Beautiful, cozy, and clean

We had a wonderful stay at this property. The beach was within a few minutes walk, you could see the sound from the deck, and the interior was nicely decorated. The house had plenty of room to accommodate all our guests and was pristine when we checked in. I couldn't have asked for a better experience.

Awesome place!

It was very clean. The 2 full bathrooms were excellent for our 3 families. Big kitchen with everything to make dinners. Linens came with. Small yard was great for the boys to play when not in the beach. Would def go again!

I would not recommend this home. And I especially wouldn’t recommend renting from Vacasa . The jump in price this year was $1000 from the prior year which seemed extreme. The home was not cleaned well. There was dog hair everywhere, and there were still food crumbs on the rug. The fourth bedroom doesn’t really qualify as an extra bedroom since the only way to enter it is through other bedrooms. There is only one refrigerator, and given the jump in price, it seems that they could offer better amenities. There was a broken chair on the back porch, and the parking area didn’t seem cleaned at all, and the smell going into the house was musty. The pirate art was tacky and inappropriate, which caused lots of questions amongst the children in our group. It was a disappointing stay. The cost did not at all match the amenities and cleanliness that were provided. Vacasa, you need to do better.

Nice Property, just housekeeping from realty company was subpar

We enjoyed the home & LOVED the location. Would had loved to give it 5 stars, but I had to vacuum the entire home because housekeeping failed to do their job. Livingroom rug was coated in long white dog hair, and at checkout when looking under the beds noticed piles of the same hair....that was the only negative from our stay @ Pirate's Lair.

Mold Everywhere in Ductwork

Black mold everywhere in ductwork. First floor smells horrible. Owner's rep didn't seem to care.

Relaxing family getaway

We were looking for a comfortable, casual beach house for our family of 7 (plus our dog) and this house suited us very well. Our only real complaint is that the floors were not clean when we arrived. We could feel sandy grit on every hard floor surface and the rug in the living room had very visible dirt and dog hair. I decided to vacuum but the vacuum cleaner was not sucking up anything. My husband had to clean out both of the vacuum cleaners at the house and even after that they only worked slightly better. Favorite things about the property include: location, layout of the house, amenities provided with the house. We loved the quiet, residential street and the short, pleasant walk to the beach. The upper level of the house has a perfect layout for everyone to be together comfortably. And the house was really well-stocked with everything you’d need in the kitchen (except for adequate dish towels and kitchen garbage bags - definitely lacking while we were there). We loved having so many board games to choose from, plus a variety of books (our 6 year especially loved all the childrens books!) Having the big dog crate all set up in the living room and ready to go was a BIG plus (and a surprise too). That came in so handy when we went to Ocracoke for the day! We mostly enjoyed the beach but we also took some time exploring the area: Graveyard of the Atlantic museum, Hatteras village, Ocracoke island. All low-key but fun excursions. We would definitely rent this house again, but I do hope they replace those vacuum cleaners in the near future.
