Adorable Historic Adirondack Lakefront Cottage on Long Lake

Cozy wainscot interior with comforts for a couple (two people). Cottage has one bedroom with a queen bed, a living room with a sofa and two chairs. There is a breakfast bar and a small dining table. The kitchen has a gas stove, oven, refrigerator, microwave, toaster and coffee maker. The location is the highlight, in private vacation enclave (historic resort property) on the shore of Long Lake in the heart of the Adirondack Mountains. Steep path to the shared beach. Close to hiking trails and great fishing right off the dock. Only 7 miles from the famous Adirondack Museum-Adirondack Experience and 25 minutes from the spectacular Wild Center and Wild Walk at Tupper Lake.

This was our first time on Long Lake and it was absolutely amazing! The area and property are beautiful and our hosts made sure we had a pleasant and comfortable stay. It’s truly a great spot to explore the area and go hiking or kayaking. Very highly recommend.

This place was wonderful. A screened in porch that overlooks an Adirondack lake is hard to beat. And there is an Outdoor shower!! The host was friendly and very helpful with recommendations for good places to eat. I highly recommend the long view lodge for dinner - it is listed under hotels on yelp so it does not come up when searching restaurants. Buttermilk falls is just down the road a little ways and is an easy walk from your car.

The Honeymoon Cabin was a good place to stay as we explored the Long Lake area of the Adirondacks. We especially loved the screened porch with beautiful views of the lake. And we loved kayaking around that more quiet end of the lake. The owner could not have been nicer. Thanks for sharing your lakefront cabin with us!

We had a wonderful stay at their cottage! Such a beautiful spot on the lake. A highlight was sitting on the screened in porch overlooking the lake. The dock was also a great place to watch the sunset, and there was a sandy beach while we were there. The kitchen was pleasant and had the important basics. Everything was very clean and comfortable. Great location. The gas 'wood burning' stove kept the place warm enough on the cold mornings when it was in the low 40's. Reminder to bring your own towels and bedding and plan time to vacuum and clean before you leave. They provided dish towels and dish soap. A few things to note for anyone not too tall, or with mobility issues. The comfy bed is up very very high. And the bathroom tub is up high on a sort of platform so you have to be extra careful when stepping into, and especially out of the tub and onto the floor, (even being tall and in fit shape) . The tub is curved on the bottom under your feet, so we held onto the top of the tub as we stepped out. The access from the parking area into the cottage was flat, and then there's a bunch of steps to get down to the lake. Can't wait to get back there!

Beautiful space. Warm. Cozy. Host was friendly. Gave us great tips for places to see nearby.Wonderful history stories. His grandfather's painting on the walls.Cabin restored but saved the authentic wood and furniture. Responded right away with our questions. Piles of dry wood for the fire. Perfect.

Really convenient location close to tons of great hikes, as well as activities in Blue Mountain Lake and Tupper Lake.The cabin was super clean with great views of the lake and the mountains from the screened in porch.We would definitely stay here again.

This cottage exceeded our expectation and is a true gem. It is clean and fresh and nicely furnished and qppointed. I loved the dock for swimming and the outdoor shower. The location is a perfect basecamp for many area activites. We have alredy booked our stay for next year.

Richard was very friendly and responsive to our questions. The cottage was very clean, the setting is very tranquil and the dock and beach were great. My wife and I especially enjoyed the mornings having breakfast on the screened in porch. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway.

Excellent Adirondack cottage

Perfect location

A perfect location to experience the Adirondacks. Great little town and Long Lake is beautiful. Richard is very friendly and has tips on where to go and what to do. Would definitely visit again.

Although this property is very rustic, it was clean and well maintained. The owner, Richard, was friendly and easily accessible as he lives onsite and was outside taking care of the property. The lake front location was breathtaking. Do remember to take towels (including hand towels and wash cloths) sheets, and other “personal” amenities (I.e. body wash).

Fifth-generation Adirondacker, Richard and his family live on adjacent property. Richard is a professional property manager and his wife works at a local museum. They have traveled extensively and welcome guests to their lakefront cottage.

Why they chose this property

The Honeymoon has been helping guest create beautiful memories for over 100 years. It is located on the former Deerland Lodge property, a resort from the turn of the last century. It has been renovated to have modern conveniences with old world charm. An enclosed iron tub provides a perfect spot for a bubble bath after a long hike or day lounging on the dock.
