About Erik Sandersen
Elizabeth and I (Erik) are social studies teachers in Maryland. We spend a bit of our summer and many breaks in Long Lake and our five children love it. They can't wait to go. We have arranged the home to be inviting to family, and hope others will love their time at the house as much as we do.
Erik Sandersen purchased this House in 2008
Why Erik Sandersen chose Long Lake
While the house is not on the water, we hope to have priced it at a level where a family or couple could enjoy a mountain / lake getaway without breaking the bank. We love the privacy, yard, fire pit, garage leisure activities and easy access to all of the beauty and activities of the region.

A very relaxing place after some strenuous hikes
We enjoyed being able to relax and spend time together after some strenuous hiking. The area is beautiful - probably more appealing to many in summery weather. The kitchen, bedrooms and baths were very convenient - like having a dishwasher as well! My family would like to come back for more good times together.
Beautiful home in Long Lake, convienient to many trails, brew pubs and adventures! The house is great! Clean, fully furnished, great house! We would be interested in staying here again!
Great place to stay
Perfect place for the 5 of us. It was nice having the washer and dryer. The shower upstairs is great! Bought firewood down the road for a fire at night. The garage game area is not really a place to hang out because it is so musty smelling but if you have kids they probably won't mind it. There was everything you needed for cooking and table wear. It's within walking distance to the grocery store/gas station/bar.
Sleeps 12-14 really. Large rental.
Clean, cozy and convenient
This property has everything you could ask for. Plenty of space, great kitchen and wonderful kitchen. Laundry in the house is a plus. It is an easy walk or drive to town. And it's really fun to walk the family to the ice cream store. The owners are lovely and always available. This is my second year at this property and I plan to come back again. If you can bring an HDMI cord and a an adapter for your iPad, you can watch Netflix or any shows/movies. House not have Wi-Fi but if you have unlimited data it works. We only did this a couple nights for movies because it is really great to unplug for a while. Found no problems with using the coffee percolator and coffee cups and linens. Enjoy!
Had a great time. Very clean. Our 4 year old was kept entertained with the playroom and catching fireflies in the backyard. We would definitely come back to this house in the future.
There are numerous lake beaches, golf courses, and hikes within a 15 minute ride. 1/3 mile down the hill from the house are ice cream shops, a convenience store/gas station, and a mini golf course. Walking just a bit further, there is a field with soccer goals and a baseball diamond. Walking another 1/4 mile straight, there is a pavilion with basketball and tennis courts and town events. Walking 1/4 or so to the right, there is a church, a library, grocery store, the Adirondack Hotel with a restaurant and bar, grocery store, the town beach (lifeguards, slide, rope swing, small trampoline), and kayak rental.
