Loved staying here. A piece of history. You do need to be comfortable with steep stairs and narrow roads. Beautiful views.

Great stay

The house was beautiful I will say rooms and pictures were accurate. I think it will be ideal to say you need to go up 20 steps and house have ladders as access to the rooms for people not capable to deal with areas like that

Magical

Just stayed in this gorgeous home with 2 women friends. It was a dream! The bedrooms are set up so that we all had our own floor, each with a private bathroom. Creative touches were everywhere and Camilla has a designer’s eye with attention to every detail. It is the perfect retreat for anyone wanting to be away from the crowds of Cinque Terre. The little medieval town with cobblestone streets is magical and there is a great restaurant in the village that I highly recommend. Be aware that getting to the house requires a hike up about 40 stone steps so if you have a heavy suitcase it’s not easy, but well worth it when you get there! Both the host and the property manager were delightful, responded in lightening speed, and incredibly accommodating. We all are hoping to return to this house some day.

Best place we ever stayed

Staying at this wonderful home was the highlight of our family's trip to Italy. It is a truly remarkable home in an incredibly gorgeous location, with views of both the sea and mountains. The home is a masterpiece of"Italian shabby chic" with sooo many wonderful touches. It is "held together with string" in the best possible way--with so many hanging decorations and clever ways of using twine and rope. Our whole family was in awe of the decor--truly the work of a unique auteur. Enjoying the roof deck and the spa were highlights of our whole vacation. But the best part was simply wandering through the sleepy neighborhood, which is a storybook version of old Italy, with no crowds or tourists, only the residents enjoying life at a leisurely pace. The only two downsides were no washing machine and that the location required a pricey taxi to come and go. But those were small prices to pay for such a great place. Very highly recommended.

nice location , dirty house

We rented thehouse for two weeks but left the house after 3 days. It has a nice location and a great view and is orriginally furnitured. As we arrived , it was clear that the house was very dirty inside. The linnen and towels were not refreshed , the kitchen was dirty , sticky and there was a lot of expired food. There was lots of dust everywhere. It wasn't cleaned for weeks. The water of the pool was not clear etc...... Not what we expect from a holiday house... For us it was a very disappointing story... We spent the rest of our holiday in another place in this beautiful region....

I apologize to the family of de Ball for what they think was not working during their short stay in my house. I am very surprised by the description in their critical review: a review which I want and have to counter stating the following. 1) I understand that, before the first protests, the woman responsible for cleaning presented herself to solve any problems. Nothing particular was requested of her: on the contrary she was offered money and unspecified apology (what for? Perhaps for some undeclared inconvenience that happened at the pool?? A strange behaviour, if not incorrect). 2) Going into the merits of complaints, I find the reference to the lack of cleanliness outrageous (beds with used sheets, dust and dirt on the floors and in the kitchen). I am even "crazy" about hygiene and order, but there's more: I would consider an inadequate care of the house disrespectful towards my guests. Disrespectful, but also absurd in relation to a continuous presence that no complaint has ever questioned. As shown by the other reviews present here.

Lovely retreat !

It’s a lovely place at the top of a quiet hilltop village with stunning views and beautiful, quirky decor. It’s recently been fully renovated, including steel beams and floors that made us feel safer in an old stone building. Parking is ample, but a 5 minute walk away, and there is a loading area closer, just 10 or 15 meters from the front door. From both the parking lot and the loading area, access is along steep cobblestone pedestrian streets with steps, so don’t expect to pull your car right up to the door. Also, the place is on 3 levels and the stairs to the lofts and the downstairs living area are extremely steep, more like ladders. (The kitchen, eating area, 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms are all on the main level, requiring no stairs aside from the steps in the pedestrian street.) The drive up to the village is challenging if you’re in a larger car or aren’t used to narrow roads with lots of hairpin turns, blind corners, and steep drop-offs. SP 16 is the easiest road up, especially coming from the south (La Spezia), but SP 16 is also manageable coming from the east (closest exit on the A 15). Via Montebuono is more difficult—posted 25% grade and 20 kpm speed limit and not wide enough for 2 cars to pass in long stretches. We were initially a bit concerned that the host required a cash deposit on check-in, but this was returned in full when we checked out. Camilla was communicative, friendly and flexible.

Très bon séjour

La propriété est conforme aux photos. Plusieurs chambres et sdb. Tout confort et rès propre. l'accès n'est pas si facile en voiture mais c'est accessible meme avec un véhicule de grande taille. Je recommande pour visiter les 5 terre.

Bezauberndes Haus mit atemberaubender Aussicht

Tolles Haus, noch schöner als auf den Fotos. Sehr liebevoll eingerichtet. Terasse mit Hängematte und kleines Spa zum entspannen war perfekt. Der Weg zum Haus hoch und runter in den Ort war trotz langjähriger Erfahrung mit italienischen Bergstrassen eine Herausforderung. Alles in allem eine wunderbare Woche in dieser schönen Unterkunft. Sehr schönes Haus. Sehr, sehr schöner Pool. Einzigartige Atmosphäre. Wunderschöne Aussicht. Sehr, sehr erholsame Tage. Leichte Mängel, die sich dadurch ergeben, dass es sich um ein genuines Haus handelt, das renoviert wurde und leider anfällig ist, was Abwasser angeht. Hilfreich wären Hinweise auf Geschäfte und Restaurants, Strände in der Nähe.

NOW I have also included them in the house card here on the site. in the house there were ... but a little hidden :( I asked Uta what she meant by the phrase plumbing, and if she had any problems I wasn't aware of .... i was glad to know that there had been no problems, but only the attention of a man very sensitive to the plumbing ..( son of a plumber ). for the hydraulic system of the ancient Ligurian houses :) thanks Uta and family.... Mooi gelegen, in oud dorpje op een berg. Prachtige uitzichten! Heel speciaal ingericht, origineel, rustgevend. Het zicht op de zee als je wakker wordt is fenomenaal ! Je eigen relaxruimte deed deugd na pittige wandelingen in de cinque Terre. De rit ernaar toe is redelijk steil, het dorpje zelf is prachtig, met veel steegjes en trapjes. Ook om naar het huis te geraken, moet je trapjes doen. Het huis heeft verschillende verdiepingen. In het dorp is een zeer goede pizzeria, die ook aan huis levert.

Une très belle maison, idéalement située près des Cinq Terres, mais à l'écart de la foule dans un charmant petit village. Très belle vue sur la baie de La Spezia de la maison. Chambres très joliment décorées, chacune avec sa salle de bain. Bain turc idéal pour se délasser après une journée de marche.

Vacanza splendida in una casa bellissima con un panorama mozzafiato. Tutto pulitissimo e molto comodo, per non parlare della meravigliosa e rilassante piscina interna. Da raccomandare sicuramente sia per il luogo che per la gentilezza dello staff. Tornerò sicuramente.

Soggiorno sereno e felice in Casa Camilla

Casa Camilla offre una belle atmosfera, serena e gradevole. La casa è funzionale, arredata semplicemente, con gusto e creatività. La piscina è stata apprezzata moltissimo dai bambini e la terrazza un bel punto di ritrovo per l'aperitivo in prima serata. Il paesino è molto tipico e sereno e Le Cinque Terre un gioiello. difficile descrivere l'armonia a parole...

non sembra una casa di quelle che si affittano. piccoli dettagli curati, spunti artistici ovunque, semplice, con tutte le comidità senza nessun difetto, aerea con vista, comoda per visitare la zona, silenziosa sempre. una casa che si vede che è vissuta dalla proprietà. un lusso senza lusso, difficile raccontarne l'atmosfera così particolare. siamo stati benissimo.
