Quaint farm cottage; sleeps 6 to 8.
Charming barn-style cottage on a 20 acre family farm in north central Florida, just west of Gainesville.
The cottage is on our family farm and has a nice view of rolling pastures. It is a 1 bedroom/1 bath cottage that sleeps 6 -- 8. It has a queen size bed and a full size bed in the bedroom and a full-size sleeper sofa in the alcove. It has a fully equipped kitchen, a living room/dining room and 1 bathroom with a separate double sink area. There is a small storage loft in the bedroom. The cottage also has wireless internet, local t.v., a DVD player and DVDs, and a washer and dryer. It has a fenced yard with it's own entrance. Linens and cookware are provided.
We are located between Newberry, Fl and Trenton, Fl, 22 miles west of Gainesville, Fl. It is a quiet, convenient place to stay when visiting the University of Florida. We are only 5 miles west of the Easton Newberry Archery Center and Canterbury Equestrian Showplace. We are close to the Nature Coast State Trail (cycling, walking, horseback riding) and there are many springs in the area. We are 48 miles from Cedar Key, 53 miles from Ocala, 99 miles from St. Augustine/Crescent Beach, 128 miles from Disney World and 20 miles directly west of I-75.
The cottage is located on a farm. We have three horses, a small herd of miniature Zebu cattle and a flock of chickens (both hens and roosters). We also have a few farm dogs and cats. It is a great place to get away for some rest & relaxation and sit out and watch the stars at night!

About Rob & Tracey Francis
After moving to north central Florida to attend the University of Florida, we decided that we loved the area and wanted to stay. Eventually we purchased property and turned it into a small farm.
Rob & Tracey Francis purchased this Cottage in 1999
Why Rob & Tracey Francis chose Trenton
Our family loves living out in the country and the area has some rolling hills and a nice view. It is quiet and peaceful and at the same time, close to many attractions and a convenient distance to Gainesville.
What makes this Cottage unique
We built the cottage for visiting family, but it isn't used much, so we decided to make it available as a vacation rental. It is a great place to stay whether you're traveling to the area for sports events, to visit the University of Florida, or just to spend some time in the country!

Tom and I enjoyed our stay at the cabin again this year. The weather was a lot different this year but we still enjoyed the farm animals and the green grass and sun. It's so peaceful and quiet. We did get a few rides in on our motorcycle which we love to do.Rob and Tracey the owners were great they checked on us a couple of times as there were some chilly nights and wanted to make sure the heater worked. We did get an awful wind and rain storm early one morning and lost power but Tracey informed us that it would be on soon. Now we are back in Vermont with the snow and cold. We hope to stay again in the future

Thank you dor letting us stay .This place is so wonderful peaceful and quiet I love animals so for me nothing else matter. Love the cat who was the first one to greet me as soon as we arrived , if you love animals this is place you need to go it was wonderful hearing roosters early in the morning reminded me of my hometown in Europe .I am definitely recommending this cottage for someone who is just trying to sit back and relax by fire pit and watch horses. The only thing I did not like there was no Trail on the property to walk around,, you had to go off the property to a dirt road and walk around where there's loose dogs that will chase you 😕 it happened to me on first day and we didn't even thought of going again..
It would be great if the owner would make a trail around the property so people can walk and watch the animals instead of going off the property ..this is definitely NOT a complaint it is just a suggestion, it would be great to come back !
Cozy cottage getaway
My husband and I loved our 3 night stay at this warm and welcoming little cottage. The cottage had all the essentials to make a comfortable home away from home. We loved waking up to the beautiful farm setting and really enjoyed getting to know the friendly farm animals-especially the cat and black and brown ponies. We looked forward to their greeting as we fed them sliced apples each afternoon. Sitting outside at night by a blazing fire stargazing was definitely one of our favorite trip memories. Thank you Rob and Tracey! We look forward to our next visit!
Delightful spot in the country...comfortable space to relax, unwind and explore the area.
This lovely spot is one of the better places we stay while traveling. No wonder we chose to spend our Xmas here.
This farm cottage is exactly as described. The lovely location means you’ll have as much peace and quiet as you wish for. We spent a comfortable, restorative two weeks here.
It's a slightly older, not exactly spotless, cottage with all of the essentials supplied. We took advantage of the location to do some cycling: the Nature Coast Trail (which would be excellent for children) and the trails at Big Shoals. Day trips as far south as St. Pete’s are doable too.
The minor problem we encountered was dealt with promptly by the owner. As a previous rater mentioned, a couple of light bulbs still needed to be replaced and the shower still needed a rubber mat or grab strips.
The only real downside was the weak and intermittent wi-fi connection which is frustrating if you have time dependent work to do; less of a problem if just checking email. The owner did attempt to remedy this. However, the IOS tablet never did manage to find the router.
We appreciated the accurate description and would stay here again.
Amazing little get away!
We love staying at the cute little barn house. Such a nice little place to stay!
