The master bedroom has a comfy queen bed and the second bedroom features two twin beds and a TV - ideal for families or close friends. Enjoy a complimentary wine tasting at nearby 21 Brix and return to stroll a shared path leading to a peaceful lake overlook. Rent The Mainstay on its own or book it with Fisherman’s Cottage next door for extra room and flexibility. Your retreat awaits.

No direct lake access. There is a shared path to a Lake Erie viewpoint. This is to the left of the bushes in front of Fisherman's Cottage next door.
We are pet friendly but please be sure to clean up animal waste and keep dogs leashed at all times.

This was a super cute a cozy house. We did an East Coast road trip and we all decided it was the nicest rental we had the entire way. The owner was very accommodating and responsive. The grounds are beautiful and it is super close to an amazing view of Lake Erie.

Why they chose this property

I grew up going to Chautauqua every summer and fell in love with the laidback small-town charm found in this part of New York. Memories here feel like antique shop finds, ice cream cones, beach naps, and late night porch cocktails.

Being from Erie, I also know the value of a Lake Erie sunset and couldn't resist the opportunity to share it with others.

What makes this property unique

I renovated much of The Mainstay and her sister, the Fisherman' Cottage, myself! It was a passion project several years in the making. You'll find some quirky imperfections in these old lakeside cottages but don't let that stop you from enjoying the comfort and quiet they offer!
