Perfect hideaway for my family holiday traditions

  • 4 of 5

The cabin was great, more space and sleeping capacity than anticipated. Cozy kitchen was small, but had everything you need. A great location, and overall a great place to just “checkout” for a week. Friendly exchanges with neighbors while out walking added to the charm. Herds of Elk were seen upon entering the area. All in all exactly what our family needed, a great, quiet getaway!

Great Ski/Family Getaway

  • 5 of 5

Sleeps way more than it appears! We spent a weekend here with my parents, my husband and my sister and her boyfriend. Cozy at the dining table, but clean, close to Crystal for the next ski day and someplace I would definitely book again.

Delightful Family Get-Away

  • 5 of 5

Two spectacular days on Crystal with all the comforts of home less than an hour away. The cabin was clean and comfortable with plenty of room for all 7 of us. We loved being able to prepare all of our meals together - the kitchen had everything we needed. Resident elk herd kept watch each morning as we left for the mountain. Thank you!

Perfect ski chalet set in the woods

  • 5 of 5

We loved our recent stay at this cabin for a weekend of skiing at Crystal mountain! We have two young kids and it was great to disconnect and have a relaxing weekend few in this home after skiing all day. It was very well kept and clean and had plenty of space. We look forward to going back several times this winter.

Great Base Camp

  • 5 of 5

A great place to stay while exploring the surrounding area, especially Mt. Rainier and its many beautiful trails.

Comfortable, quiet cabin, comfy beds and nice neighborhood. Little trail right across the street leads you to the White River.

Great place to recharge!

Elk Run Chalet - even sas some elk

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our stay in your chalet. The only problem we had was finding it. We stopped at the Club House but still could not determine just where it was because the map there only gave lot numbers and not names of the accommodation. We drove around and finally recognized the A-Frame from the picture that accompanied the VRBO advertisement and fortunately the code you gave us worked. It would have helped to have the street address or better yet a map. We picniced one evening at the Federation State Park and on Monday went to Crystal Resort to watch the solar eclipse. We were supprised at how roomy it was.

Car: necessary

Located in the private Crystal River Ranch community, the Elk Run Chalet is approximately 25 minutes away from Crystal Mountain Ski Resort and the White River / Sunrise entrance to Mount Rainier. In the winter, Crystal is the premier mountain for skiing and snowboarding. In the summer, take the gondola up for a breathtaking view of Mount Rainier and a memorable meal at the Summit House Restaurant. Sunrise at Mount Rainier has great hiking and amazing scenery. Other outdoor areas to explore include Chinook and Cayuse Pass. For mountain bikers, a prime selection of advanced trails known as Skookum Flats, Suntop, Ranger Creek, Palisades, Corral Pass, and the Crystal Mountain Northway Trail are accessible in late Spring through Fall.

The Elk Run Chalet is also located just a few miles East of the town of Greenwater. Greenwater is worth a visit. Drop in at Wapiti Woolies for a Starbuck's coffee and peruse their racks of ski clothing and knitted hats. The Naches Tavern is the local's spot for a beer and a burger. The small general store is where you can pick up any small items you forgot to pack and has a gas station. Greenwater Skis hosts demos and great ski tuning.

Other seasonal activities in the area include mountain biking, hiking, golf 30 minutes away, scenic drives, fishing, horseback riding, hunting, frisbee golf, and snowmobiling.
