She is 50’ in length and of new design with many innovative new features such as the hard davit cover that makes into a day bed and the companionway leading to the bridge pilot station. She is a fast cruiser with a rated speed of 12 knots on a broad reach. The Dancing Girls was sailed across the Atlantic on her initial voyage from La Rochelle, France, to Annapolis, MD, proving her reliability as a blue water cruiser. She is unmatched in beauty and modern convenience.
The galley appliances include a combination microwave, convection oven and grill, a gas range, blender, Panini grill, toaster, bread maker, cappuccino / espresso machine. The galley is stocked with the cooking utensils expected in a gourmet kitchen which are complimented by an icemaker, refrigerator and freezer, two basin sink, wine storage cabinet. The two level galley counter is very convenient for serving guests as a bar or food service counter. The main salon dining table comfortably seats 8. Outside, there is a Magma Gourmet Series propane grill on the back deck and another large outdoor table providing seating for 8 and a combination refrigerator / freezer.

There are four double cabins, two v-birth cabins and a pipe berth cabin. The four double cabins have private head, shower and sink. The trampoline and davit cover day bed also make for great outdoor overnight accommodations when the weather is right.
Wen booked as a Yacht Club Charter , the guests have access to all the amenities of the Key West Harbour Yacht Club which is the premier Marina in the Keys. Guests onboard are entitled to all the amenities of the Yacht Club, including waterside pool, beach, fitness center, gourmet restaurant, free kayaks, Tiki hut and gazebo. The yacht club is only 15 minutes from Duval street and can be reached by bicycle or scooter as easily as with a car. When booked as a Sail Charter, we provide the Captain and Mate which run the vessel and dinghies, dive gear and navigational electronics. You can participate in as much or as little of the sailing as you like. We can sail to any destination you like, depending on the weather.
The rate for sailing trips is $1,500 per night for a minimum of three nights. Any amount paid toward the “at the dock” stay is applied as a credit toward the out island sailing rates. The nightly rate is determined in increments of 24 hours such that each 24 hours counts or as a night. For example, from 25 to 48 hours counts as 2 nights, 49 to 72 counts as 3 nights, and so on. The maximum number of people for “at the dock” charter is 8. For an out island charter, the maximum is 6 which is a US Coast Guard requirement. These guest loading maximums are not negotiable.
The sail plan includes a fully battened mainsail in lazy jacks, a roller furling jib and an asymmetrical spinnaker. She has two dinghies depending on the cruise plan. The first, primary dinghy is an 18’ center console fiberglass Mako with a 90hp 4-stroke Mercury outboard, also fully rigged with GPS, live well and dive supplies. For longer passage making she utilizes a 12’ Caribe dinghy with a 20hp, 4-stroke Mercury outboard rigged with running lights and oars. The Mako has a gas powered commercial air compressor with hookah rig with 200’ line and 4 line octopus. Rigged with wind and solar power generators (60 amp combined) and water maker to reduce trips into port for fuel and water, the dual helm allows operation from the salon or the bridge.
Navigation electronics include a dual helm Furuno Navnet 3D system with GPS and inertial positioning, raster and vector charts, high definition fish finder, satellite weather, digital radar, Wi-Fi internet, autopilot and multifunction wind, depth, speed and sail navigational instruments. The navigational instruments can be controlled from the upper or lower helm. Displays can be switched between on board PC display, Furuno navigational display or viewing of entertainment in full or split screen.

About George Floyd
Florida native now retired. I spend a great deal of time in Key West on my yacht pursuing sailing to the out islands, fishing and enjoying the charm of Key West.
George Floyd purchased this Yacht in 2007
Why George Floyd chose Stock Island
This is one of the most fabulous yachts in Key West with protected waters in a marina giving access to the Gulf and the Atlantic with the closest reef only 15 minutes south by boat. I love sailing to the out islands of Boca Chica a, the Marquesa Keys and the Dry Tortugas. The combination of a significant military presence and the safety of a United States City in the Caribbean with close access to reefs and with a day’s sail of the Tortugas make this the ideal vacation experience. It is the gateway to the tropics with the convenience of living in the USA.
What makes this Yacht unique
The real charm of staying on the Dancing Girls is to go cruising to the out islands. We generally make passage to Boca Grande and the Marquesas Keys or to the Dry Tortugas (Fort Jefferson) for longer charters. A trip like this is the experience of a lifetime and a great way to experience the best part of the keys.

poorly maintained boat, uninhabitable
We arrived with workers working on the boat. This was booked six months earlier, so arrival should not have been a surprise. Towels and bedding ancient.
Musty smell. Not clean nor well maintained. Boat needs an overhaul. No TV functional, minimal electric outlets. Bee nests at entrance . windows were filthy!!! Would have take days to get this boat near clean. Showers unusable. VERY disappointed. During holiday vacation, scrambled to find alternative accommodations. Sailing cancelled. Bathrooms with hair in shower. Mold in refrigerators. Unusable grill and unusable kitchen. Find another venue. this is unacceptable!!!
Well ….. with hurricane IRMA having passed through with 140 MPH winds only 90 days earlier and the keys highway, US Highway 1, shut down for roughly half of that time, one must allow for some sub optimal blemishes upon coming aboard. That said, this review goes to ridiculous excess in justifying departure from a charter during the height of the vacation season, the week between Christmas and New Years. Yes, there was a bit of disarray still lingering from the storm such as the cable TV at the marina docks which was still down at that time and there were marina workers laboring to resolve that. But a beehive on the boat .. come on … sand fleas are not bees although they can be annoying at dusk, but just part of life near the salt water in Florida. This is the mark by which this review can be judged. Towels and linens were clean and functional / presentable, although we have since purchased new covers, comforters and pillows. All four showers and toilets worked well and were clean. Propane grill just did not have the LP bottle turned on. All in all the boat is in VERY GOOD condition especially considering the recent passing of the largest hurricane ever to have been in the Atlantic. See the other “real” reviews where all are five star except for this and one other at three stars.
Dancing Girls a Key West Adventure
To begin . . . there are six of us, three married couples who have traveled together for many years. Our travel always includes beach, warm weather, and fun activities. We have experienced the "All Inclusive" resorts in Mexico, big ship cruising the Caribbean & Mediterranean seas, and several villas in lots of beautiful tropical places (from Mexico, Turks and Caicos, to Costa Rica). The last two years we have rented and truly enjoyed two very nice villas near St. Pete Beach in Florida. We love Florida! This year we wanted to experience something different, an adventure, but we still wanted to be in Florida. That's how we found ourselves renting Dancing Girls out of Key West. Captain George was easy to talk to and taught us a lot about sailing! Jo, his mate, was very helpful and knew her way around the boat! By the end of our sailing trip it felt like we were sailing with friends! The boat has four cabins, each with a bathroom. It was like camping, but with so many more amenities, we started calling it glamping (glamorous + camping = glamping)! George, your Catamaran was fantastic! Our sailing/snorkeling part of the week was amazing, a true adventure! We sailed to the Sand Reef, Dry Tortugas, an unforgettable place, and back to Key West. We experienced breathtaking sunsets, beautiful sunrises, and crystal clear warm waters filled with colorful fish. Oh my! We liked the facilities at the Key West Harbour, a lot (friendly people, nice restaurant, good food, huge pool, and a tiki hut)! We rented bikes that we rode all over Key West. It was a true adventure! Thank you Captain George and Jo, you made it memorable and I know we will be talking about this adventure for many years to come! You gave us your all! I am so glad we found you!!!
Sailing Key West
Our family has become enamoured with sailing. We have 4 kids ages 18, 16, 13, & 11. This was a great activity for the whole family. It was a very relaxed environment with plenty of opportunity to explore islands and coral reefs. The boat is very comfortable and it was hard to say goodbye when the trip was over. We will definitely be back for more adventures with George and his catamaran!
Pizza from Rustica on the deck was awesome! Kevin is an asset and I would recommend the boat for anyone looking for something new...the club house pool / drinks are nice. Cabs are not bad...better than renting car and trying to park downtown!!
Great Hotel. Stay moored.
Chartered with 2 other couples. Planned to sail 3-4 days. Nice boat. Very good for hotel if going to Key West. Marina nice. 1st Mate Keven excellent. Suspicious there were no reviews of people who have actually sailed. We found out. Owner/Capt??? very challenging. Not up front on plans. Left us sitting around all day waiting for him to arrive and get vessel underway, after crashing into the fuel dock. Invited guests with no consult to join us for transit back from Dry Tortugas. Quite an attitude. Cabin/Head/kitchen very adequate. Watch out for marine toilet. Frezzers don't hold ice cream. We since have sailed prof charter company and now see how good cat chartering can be. If you just want a hotel, Dancing Girls is a great place. Leave the sailing to professionals.
It is interesting that this review comes a year after the trip was taken. To respond to the critiques. They paid for a 3 day charter out of a 7 day booking and actually got over three days. Planning for a sailing excursion is ALWAYS a function of the wind and weather conditions. In this case, the winds were favorable for the approximate 80 mile passage over open water to the Dry Tortugas. Prior to the day of departure it appeared as though the prevailing strong easterly winds would not allow a return, but the forecast changed to calm on the planned return so that we could take them there, although it was mostly a motorized run back to Key West. So yes, the plans did change but to their advantage and in keeping with their desires. We discussed the alternatives, as always, and all were agreed prior to departure. The time “waiting” was while we provisioned the vessel and deploying cruising gear, and as noted earlier, they received more than the 3 days sailing than they actually paid for. There was no “crashing into the fuel dock” and there never has been. I am the owner and a USCG 100 ton licensed Master Captain. I have logged over 720 days of sea time on the vessel and sailed her up and down the eastern seaboard and through the Bahamas. I also run a 40 passenger power catamaran, a 58’ wooden ketch. I replaced all of the electrical and electronics on the vessel after a lightning strike and know every system inside out. On the minor issues, Marine toilets are sometimes problematic if not used properly. Web site for the boat at www.Salina48DG.com provide instructions and printed manual onboard. Separate freezer box holds things frozen at below 20 degrees F, unsure as to their ice cream melting, but perhaps they mistakenly left it in the refrigeration compartment. I did provide passage for two sea turtle researchers that were stuck in the Tortugas. The main problem is that the guys on this trip consumed alcohol to the excess by generally starting right after breakfast and by afternoon dangerously intoxicated for being aboard in open water. I suggested that they should stop drinking so much due to danger of accident or injury. At this they became very agitated and mutinous. When I say cases of liter bottles of hard liquor, I felt there would be problems and there were. At the end of the trip, and three days of heavy drinking, they were in a very foul mood. I now notify everyone that I no longer allow heavy drinking while away from the dock.
We have a family of 6 including two young adults and two young children. Dancing Girls had plenty of room to accommodate us and we even had a spare cabin. This yacht is very well equipped and maintained and was beyond our expectations. For some time, I've been "discussing" with my wife the idea of temporarily living on a yacht like this and i think this sealed the deal. After staying aboard for 4 nights she said, "I could do this". Yes! The yacht club is very nice and Dancing Girls is located in a perfect spot for us. In a quiet out for the way corner of the club with easy access to the Tiki Hut where we would watch the sunrise. The yacht club is a very short drive to Key West where we had a great time scuba diving, going to the beach, and enjoying the great restaurants. We loved our Key West adventure and would definitely look to stay on Dancing Girls again when we return.
