While it still may be cold and ski season is going strong, it's time to plan a springtime getaway in the Appalachian Mountains!

Wintergreen Resort, high in Virginia's Blue Ridge Mountains, features many outdoor activities, or you can just sit back and enjoy the scenery. This fantastic condo will provide a great base to help you enjoy it all!

Whether you are a skier, boarder,golfer, tennis player, hiker, or cyclist, or perhaps you merely enjoy reading a good book on the deck, a Wintergreen getaway is just what you need. At 3,500 feet astride the Blue Ridge Mountains, adjacent to the Appalachian Trail and Blue Ridge Parkway, Wintergreen has become a four-season resort that will provide a natural backdrop for whatever you like to do. And what better way to enjoy all that Wintergreen has to offer than a stay at a luxury, two bedroom condominium with a view that can only be described as 'breathtaking?'

And as of 2015, we now own a second condo in the building next door, 1925 High Ridge Place. This three-bedroom, three-bathroom condo (VRBO Listing #751707) is beautifully decorated and offers a stunning view from it's huge deck. It is a mere 90 second walk from our front door, so if you have a big group, and need five bedrooms, five baths, and two kitchens, then reserve both condos at the same time for a special discount!

The living room of 1831 High Ridge Court is large and airy, and has a fireplace (with all the free firewood you can use), a 55-inch LCD Hi-Def cable TV, the ability to play streaming Netflix movies (account included), over 200 TV channels, BluRay discs, DVDs (we have over 50 movies, for kids and adults, but be sure to bring some of your favorites), CDs, a sleeper sofa (queen-size bed), and two side chairs. The living room has a door opening to the deck, which has a table for dining in the warmer months and a grill for outdoor cooking. The dining room has a six-person table and, like the living room, features oversized windows looking eastward. The view is amazing, and you can see the ski slopes below, Charlottesville to the northeast, and even the glow of Richmond on moonless nights some 70 miles away.

The master suite of 1831 features a king-size bed, with its own door onto the deck. The views are gorgeous, to the east primarily, but you can also see westward into the Shenandoah Valley. This room has a 32-inch LCD HDTV and Blueray DVD player. The master bath has a double vanity, Jacuzzi tub, walk-in shower, and walk-in closet. The second bedroom has a queen-size bed, a closet, and is adjacent to the second bath, which contains a full tub/shower. The second bedroom has a 32-inch LCD HDTV.

The kitchen has new appliances, including refrigerator, electric range with smooth cooking surface, dishwasher, disposal, combination range hood/microwave, and most every small appliance and utensil you could need. The condominium has new full-size front-loading washer and dryer, and an outside ski locker for storing wet and icy gear out of the way. The unit is on the second floor, but an elevator makes loading and unloading a breeze. The building also has available covered parking, further protecting you from the weather. Our condominium is No Smoking, No Pets for everyone’s enjoyment.

We provide a guest-of-member pass for resort activities, which allows you entry into many activities (some with fee) not available to other rental guests. These are the indoor/outdoor pools at the Wintergarden Spa, the Devils Knob Golf Course, and the Devils Grill Restaurant. We also have a priority parking pass, which on weekends allows you to park right next to the ski area--no long walks dragging ski equipment!

We have a WiFi hi-speed internet connection in the condo, so you can use your laptop inside or on the deck to keep up with e-mail and the office. The land line phone in the condo has unlimited long distance in the US and Canada.

Our building is across the street from the Devil’s Knob Golf Course and tennis facility, which also boasts an excellent restaurant. Adjacent to Devil’s Knob is the Wintergarden Spa, with spa treatments, fitness facilities and indoor pool. The ski area, shopping, and other restaurants are a five-minute drive, or you can take a free shuttle bus that runs every 15 minutes and stops outside our door. There are numerous hikes that you can tackle without driving at all (including the Appalachian Trail), while the nearby Blue Ridge Parkway is perfect for cycling or cross country skiing.

What makes this condo unique

We enjoy each of the four distinct seasons at Wintergreen in a different way. In spring, the wildflowers and budding trees make hikes along the Appalachian Trail spectacular. In the summer, we escape the heat and humidity of the lowlands, as Wintergreen is invariably 10-15 degrees cooler than our home in Richmond. In the fall, we enjoy watching football games on the TV, and the vibrant fall foliage, while the crackling fireplace offers a nice contrast to the cool weather outside. Winter offers opportunities for skiing and snowboarding which bring us together as a family.

This was our most enjoyable stay at Wintergreen. The condo is fantastic! We loved the décor. We loved the view. We loved the proximity to the slopes. Our trip was a last-minute impulse and your posting seemed too good to be true. Previous rental experiences have taught us to keep our expectations low. However, we were delightfully surprised when we arrived. It felt like home. All of the details you've provided didn't go unnoticed. I cooked breakfast, lunch, and dinner and didn't have to "make do" one time. You've equipped the kitchen with every gadget I could think of, and then some! I don't ski, but the rest of the family does. I was able to read, cook, and enjoy the view while my family played in the snow. Being able to meet them for a mid-day 'picnic' was so much fun. After skiing all day the kids were exhausted, but somehow managed to squeeze in some time playing the Nintendo 64. I had the best night's sleep in ages. The mattress in the master bedroom was wonderful. (I'm hoping to replace mine with one just like it!) The down blankets were a very nice touch, too. Everything was perfect. Don't change a thing! Thank you for accommodating our schedule and allowing us to stay a couple of extra hours, too. It made the trip much more relaxing. We hope to visit again soon.

Our group stayed at Lee’s condo this past weekend and had an absolute blast. The condo was immaculate and Lee provided everything and more that we could ask for during the trip. Great views, easy access to all of Wintergreen

We've stayed at three different properties at Wintergreen, and this was hands down our favorite. The views from the unit are stunning--unobstructed mountain views with no houses in sight. The unit has a well-equipped kitchen with everything (including oil / spices, etcetera) that you might need to cook gourmet meals. The condo is very close to the pool and provides transponder access to the most convenient ski parking. We will definitely rent again!

Very nice

Just stayed one night to use as home base for a private brewery tour. The place is outfitted very nicely and is well stocked with all you need from coffee to fire wood. We were also very impressed that there was even a Christmas tree with all the decorations.

View from the condo is spectacular. The place is spacious and provides everything you need for a great get away. There are a number of great easy to access hiking trails on the mountain. Loved our stay.
