The Space:

Nothing could be finer than a quality vacation at Goldie's Retreat on Edisto Beach. This charming home, nestled under live oaks and palmetto trees, is a wonderful site for creating new memories and continuing vacation traditions alike. The private pool (which measures 13 feet by 26 feet, and three feet to 5.6 feet deep) is sure to be the centerpiece for lounging and playing. Spend hours relaxing on the screened porch overlooking a small lagoon or take advantage of the ground-level patio that features yard games, a hammock, and a grill for the master chef.



The fabulous floor plan offers three bedrooms on the main level. There's also a bonus bedroom on the ground level with direct access to the screened patio, where you can enjoy a game of Ping-Pong. Tasteful decor extends throughout and will have you enjoying your time indoors just as much as the outdoors. The kitchen features granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, and a layout that opens up to the dining/living area, so you can laugh about your day at the beach as the chef in your group prepares a Lowcountry feast. Lots of conveniences are at your fingertips, including cable, free wireless internet, and furnished linens. And from the house to the shore is only a short walk of less than five minutes. Take a break from the daily grind, come on down, and get on island time. Goldie's Retreat should be on the top of your list!

Good vacation spot

The only negatives were a foul odor from the bedroom, and ants by the pool along with a tub that would not drain properly. Everything else was phenomenal. The property was well kept. Everyone in the family enjoyed the space and ability to swim or go to the beach. The closeness to the beach was a plus. The kitchen was well stocked along with other fun things to do like ping pong, corn hole, tons of board games.

Family Beach Vacation

Nice open floor plan. Love the hard wood floors. Plenty of counter space in kitchen along with plenty of storage for food items. Great pool which is why we rented this particular home. Enjoyed the screened in back porch at night. Short walk to the beach. Weather was great all week!

Buyer beware

The house left alot to be desired. There were many things broken, like the ice maker, dishwasher, dryer, screen doors, and water faucets to name a few. We enjoyed our time despite the house being way over priced for how broken it was. The management company tried hard to fix what they could, but the owners left them holding the bag for a worn out house in need of service. It really was a shame for such a beautiful place to be left in such disrepair, right down to having no bean bags for the toss game listed as being included.

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was more than happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Animal hair/ dander in the beds. Everyone got a lot of bug bites each night. Had a couple bugs in luggage when areived home. Didn't enjoy how much cleaning was necessary considering we paid a cleaning fee. Did enjoy the golf cart.

Should you find any items in need of cleaning and/or laundering upon your arrival during a future stay please don't hesitate to contact our office and we will promptly address. We have shared your feedback with the home's housekeeping crew to ensure that all areas are thoroughly addressed. Due to our environment here on Edisto, insects are more prevalent, especially in the evening(s) and/or during times of high humidity and/or heavy rain. Each of the properties that we manage is contracted with a professional pest control provider that we are happy to dispatch should the need arise. In regards to check-out procedures, we ask that guests remove their items from the refrigerator, place trash in the outdoor receptacles, and put away their dishes - we take care of the vacuuming, moping, dusting, etc. Also, when you stay in any of our properties for 3 nights or more the cleaning is complementary. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed the location of the home and accessing the surrounding attractions via your golf cart. Our family stayed for a week in July and it was a wonderful trip. There were a few negatives. The tub would not drain in one of the bathrooms so you showered in water up to your ankles. One bedroom had an odor that was absolutely terrible. My wife brought febreze because she particular. The smell never went away only improved when it was sprayed. There was also a ridiculous amount of ants on the concrete around the pool. Having said that, I will say we would definitely stay here again! The kitchen was well stocked with any dishes/cookware you might need, two coffee machines a keurig and a brew by the pot, and nice up to date appliances. Plenty of space! Great for small kids. We were worried about the pool with our littles but the slide doors and the screen door all had latches for safety. Outside shower was a huge bonus for washing off beach sand. The walk to the beach was an easy one, even with two small kids. The access was so close it was maybe 5 minutes to walk. We look forward to staying again and hopefully they can find what the smell is and fix that part!

I didn’t want to leave

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house met most of our expectations and I would stay here again. We were surprised by a few changes to the home from the photos and description from when we booked. In the basement, there is now another double bed instead of the ping pong table. I think this was a great addition that we will use in future trips. The ping pong table is now outside in the car port. Also in the car port was a ring game and cornhole that we enjoyed having. We were pretty disappointed that the fire pit was gone especially since I even called Atwood a few days before the trip asking about it and where to purchase firewood and it wasn’t mentioned that it was no longer there. We had stuff for S’Mores and the kids were a little disappointed. The pool area was fantastic. I do kind of wish we paid to heat it as it was too cool to use it in the evenings. A cover would have been nice though as the tree over it dropped a ton a yellow beadie things that we had to skim out daily. The upper screened in porch we utilized a lot. So nice! The living area and kitchen were super nice. Kitchen was very well stocked with nicer and newer pans. The regular coffee maker was broken but there was a keurig also. The only thing we didn’t have that I wouldn’t expect most rentals to have was crab crackers as we did have a Flowers boil at home one night. We do wish though that there was maybe a loveseat where the white bench was to have more comfortable seating in the living room. It made us hard for the 8 of us to be in there together at night. The main bathroom needs new shower curtain rings as the ones on it are super rusty and got rust on a towel that we hung over the shower to dry. The bedrooms were nice but the bedroom next to the laundry room had a odd smell in it. The one suggestion for the rooms is to add mirrors, maybe full length, as it was hard to get ready when others were in the bathrooms. Overall, great house though and we will be back.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: It had a unusual odor and was worse in the wash room, every clothing item we had picked up this odor so we had to wash everything (even clothes not worn), the bottom area had a musty odor. The sitting are didn't have enough sitting for all of us to enjoy movies together. There were a lot of insects stuck to the curtains in the dining area, several spiders around inside. We did enjoy the pool and the umbrella, the outside shower was nice to shower off after returning from the beach which was only a short walk and the beach access was nice. It was a nice place to stay but think we will find another rental next time.

Mothers Day home away from home

Amazing vacation home

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I absolutely loved the Redi Mix home, it had everything you could possibly want and more. Great pool, kitchen, location, screened porch, all around perfect. I would love to come again sometime and rent this home.
