My husband and I lived in Hawaii for years, so we knew that we wanted a quiet escape with a view far away from Waikiki, and this was it! Waking up to the Mountain View every morning was so refreshing, and the sound of the rain on the tin roof every night made us so happy. Exploring the property and having serene places to sit with views of the valley and river brought us so much peace and happiness. Do not underestimate that shower! It doesn’t look like much, but the water pressure and temperatures are perfect and the breeze coming through were both refreshing and relaxing. We will absolutely book this again!

We stayed for two nights. It is a very unique property. The surrounding area is very beautiful near the mountains. The location is good as there are plenty of attractions nearby to the north or south.1. The property was not fully cleaned. There were leaves and other debris in the kitchen stuff that sits on the shelf above the sink. There were a lot of cobwebs in the ceiling.2. The home is not remotely bug proof. My wife was bitten by 10 mosquitos. Ants were crawling on the couch. The home is screened in with some windows and plastic, but there are gaps in the screening especially at the tops of the walls. Bugs can fly in and out if they want to. We had a few gecko visitors indoors. There is a mosquito netting above the bed, so that tells you to prepare for bugs.3. The property is privately hidden inside high grasses, but there are a number of other small properties nearby. It was fairly quiet during our stay.Hard to highly rate this place based on our experience, especially given the mosquito situation indoors.

Despite Hurricane Lala’s attempts to keep us from this magical and lovely Sacred Valley location (power was out for a few days but returned the morning of our arrival— we needed a working fridge for medication storage) we enjoyed two blissful days in this rustic locale. Katlyn worked hard to communicate about the power issues and was gracious about a possible refund if we needed to find somewhere else on the North Shore. Luckily, it all worked out. Headlines: shower is amazing. Tankless water heater means that two weary hikers/swimmers/explorers can experience a lovely hot shower at the end of the day. Bed is queen sized and in the loft, up five stairs. This is a screened in cabin and so there’s no a/c (obv) but a fan kept us totally cool at night after the sun sets behind the mountain ridge that is just behind the cabin. It is surrounded by sugar cane and with other tiny homes on the property (check out the Rasta Bus) and down the same road is an (off limits, but viewable) Buddhist Temple. Very peaceful and quiet. Small details make this place shine: nice plates and a good toaster oven and hot plate to cook meals. Fridge is dorm-sized, but plenty big enough to stow a few days supplies. Compostable toilet is easy to use. We listened to the birds calling in the morning and a ten minute walk down to the beach every morning means you get to watch the sunrise over the water and then watch the sun set over the ridge from bed.
