Enjoy all New Orleans has to offer in comfort! Don't get stuck in the French Quarter! Visit the crowded and touristy Quarter by day, but relax in our beautiful home by night! Our house has been renovated to provide all the modern comforts in a classic New Orleans double shotgun house.

Located in the East Riverside neighborhood of Uptown, our house provides a fantastic base for exploring the city. Tipitina's is two blocks away on Napoleon, and also marks the start of many of the Mardi Gras parades; walk 5 minutes (or 10, if you are truly on NOLA time) to Magazine Street to shop antiques and other local flavor, hit up some awesome watering holes, or have a great meal. On hot days, stroll down to the oldest snoball stand in the world, Hansen's Sno-Bliz. Take a short drive (or the bus is right outside the house) to the Quarter, or explore Audubon Park and Tulane going the other direction. Cruise down Tchoupitoulas (that's Choppa-Tooliss) and explore the Oak Street area (where you'll find Jacques-Imo's, Squeal BBQ, Oak Street Wine Bar, and the famous Camellia Grill). If you fancy a night in or just need coffee and beer, Rouse's Supermarket is three blocks away. If you are in town for a convention, avoid staying near the Center and instead head down Tchoupitoulas and stay in comfort.

Guests have access to the entire house. Three roomy bedrooms with queen-sized beds and two full bathrooms (one en-suite), spacious living/dining area with flat screen and Roku, two sofas, high ceilings, period details, and gleaming cypress floors, fully outfitted and spacious kitchen with coffee maker, dishwasher and microwave, one parking space (and ample street parking), and a washer/dryer.

- Front two bedrooms get street noise, which usually dies down by the evening, but can be loud during rush hour. We have some earplugs in each room in case you are a light sleeper. The master bedroom gets little noise. If you require dead silence to sleep, this might not be the house for you.

We aim to be in touch while letting guests do their own thing and enjoy their stay. We are always available via phone/text/email to address any questions or concerns.

Our house is ours, we stay there and our friends and family stay there, and we want to know that it will be taken care of and it, and our neighbors, will be respected. Beautiful modern home

The home was very modern and artistically decorated. The kitchen was well equipped. The bedrooms were very spacious. We definitely enjoyed our stay and would stay again. The two smaller bedrooms face Tchopitoulas Street, which has a lot of traffic and can be very noisy. However, every bedroom is equipped with a white noise machine, so this was not a problem for us. Jacki was very responsive throughout the rental process and when we had a problem with the neighbors hosting a party with a band under our window, she called them on our behalf immediately.

How do you say the street name?

My wife and I brought our daughter and our two adult grandsons on a Christmas trip to Nawlins. We enjoyed the location. The accommodations are spacious. Bedrooms are roomy. The kitchen is very nice fully equipped. I always bring my own chef's knife which we used a lot. Lots of pots and pans almost like our own home. The most difficult part of our stay was trying to figure out how to say the street name.

Furnished I think largely by Ikea. so very functional and comfortable. The unit is very clean and lots of supplies except no Kleenex. Uses Nest temp control which was very responsive.

The house is in a very convenient location, the Rouse grocery store is very convenient if you want to cook in. Great selection of wines and quality meats and produce. The house is about 2 miles from the trolley that takes you through the Garden district right to the French Quarter. We figured this out a little too late. Also the trolley stop is near a great restaurant - Superior Seafood with 50 cent oysters during happy hour. One of the best deals around.

The master bedroom and bath is large and nice. The second bath has a small shower stall but not really a issue.

We would stay here again with no reservations.

Comfortable 3 bedroom in great location

We spent 5 nights with our two adult children, my son-in-law and our 2 year old grandson in this lovely home over the Thanksgiving holiday. We were visiting family and we are frequent visitors to New Orleans. The home is comfortable and the kitchen is particularly well-supplied. The kids made pies and they had all the dishes and utensils they needed. The master suite is roomy with a large attached bath.

There is a grocery store 2 blocks away and a cozy coffee house, Hey Cafe, within walking distance. You can also walk to Magazine street restaurants or catch the street car on St. Charles, all of which we did.

If you are not used to urban living you may take issue with some of the street noise, but Jacki has provided sound machines and ear plugs if you need them. We didn't. You will enjoy your visit to New Orleans with a stay in this comfy home.

Great NOLA find! A true value for couple or family.

What a find! For a real Mardi Gras experience this is the spot. This Tchoupitoulas location is perfect. All the floats line up along this street to begin the parade. The excitement is in the air as the bands all get ready. You can load up on beads and trinkets at the beginning of the route before the big crowds. Great bars and restaurants are within walking distance and the area is very safe. You can take a taxi or the bus to downtown for another Mardi Gras experience. Great parking adjacent to entry. Although we had a car one day we were carless. Nevertheless we found a free cemetery walking tour a short bus ride away from this Tchoupitoulas Home.

We were greeted with a six pack of local Abita Amber beer in the frige and a variety of local coffees including Community and others. We were pleasantly surprised by all of the amenities.

Our family of six adults and one toddler comfortably filled this three bedroom two bath house. The beds were comfortable. Two of the girls even slept on the two couches with no complaints.

Upon our arrival we headed two blocks down Tchoupitoulas to the gourmetish Rouses grocery store then to the Walmart a couple of miles away and stocked the frige for our week stay. We all pitched in to prep several breakfasts and dinners in the big kitchen. This helped save a bundle instead of going out for every meal.

All the appliances were first rate and the laundry room was great. We had never used a ROKU in lieu of cable TV and were pleased with the programming available.

Owner Jacki was attentive to our needs from reservation to check out. She responded quickly whenever we had to contact her for information or questions.

This house was perfect for our family get away. It was such a great value that my wife and I would love to return for the Seafood Festival or something like the St. Patrick Day celebration. We hear it's as fabulous as Mardi Gras. NOLA is our new favorite city to visit. We were frustrated not being able to do and see everything in this enchanting city. We are looking forward to returning to this Tchoupitoulas home.

Car: recommended

The house is located south of Magazine Street in the Uptown/Lower Garden District neighborhood of East Riverside. It is full of old historic homes and retains its truly unique New Orleans heritage.

For those wanting a leisurely trip to Audubon and the French Quarter, the streetcar is on St. Charles, which is about a 15 minute walk, or 3 minute drive (parking is pretty easy, generally). Or you can go truly local and take the number 11 bus (right across the street) which (theoretically) should take less then 30 minutes. I would recommend renting a car if you will be here awhile, as there is so much to explore, both in and out of the city. Tchoupitoulas is a great way to get to the Quarter, as well as over to Audubon Park. You couldn't be more centrally located for easy access to everything! And since NOLA is not a big city, nothing is really more than 20 minutes away.
