About Luann Doll

This was purchased as a joint venture, between myself (and husband Pat), bestie Lisa and Pat's cousin Tim (also know as tool time Tim, Cabana Boy, and garage boy. lol

Luann Doll purchased this cabin in 2012

Why Luann Doll chose Argonne

This property is located a short distance from a cabin owned by my husband's family. Property went up for sale when the economy took a turn for the worse. We would drive by it every time we went to our cabin and finally Lisa said, let's check out that cottage...and here we are.

What makes this cabin unique

The 3 bedrooms, full bath and dining room have been remodeled. The walls are now log and have hardwood floors and/or new carpet. It is just beautiful. We plan to continue to remodel the rest in time. The cottage is ready for rent!!! The lake is quiet and you won't see much boat traffic, it is a small lake. You can enjoy the loons from the dock, or listen to them calling from inside the cottage. The sunrise is OUTSTANDING... if you can get up that early to see it. I know some of you can!

Gorgeous cabin, clean beach..

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time! Although the weather wasn't the best most of the trip, that didn't take away from how beautiful this cabin was. Fishing from the dock was great. I caught my biggest fish of the year off the dock.. 18 inch, 5lb bass. Lots of perch and smaller pan fish to catch off the dock/shore. Very shallow lake but still was so very calm without traffic which was great. Kitchen is well stocked with all you'd need, satellite dish worked great, and the two bathrooms was a plus. Cell reception was awful so it truly is a get away northwood type feel... but you can make calls from the dock easily. Main Street Ed's about 15 min away is delicious! Overall our time was great. Thank you to the great owners!

Quiet and relaxing

  • 4 of 5

Great well appointed and roomy place. Lake is very quiet and beautiful. Though it is not a deal breaker by any means, a small motor for the boat would be great for the Fishing enthusiast. Definitely on our short list for consideration again next year.

Owner's Response: Chad, Thank you for the review. You are welcome back anytime. We would love to provide a motor for the rowboat, however, the cost of insurance is our hinderence. We would need commercial insurance for any motorized boat, which would not be cost effective for anyone. Anyone renting the rowboat is welcome to bring their own motor or rent one and bring with to put on our boat. Luann

Amazing weekend away

  • 5 of 5

This cabin was amazing! It was very clean and nicely kept. The patio was awesome, it has a little chimney fire place which was very nice to have a fire in and also has a very nice gas grill that we used a lot. There was also a very nice fire pit down by the lake as well. The pier was great to fish off of and the rowboat worked well. The dogs absolutely loved the water and running around the yard! Luann and Tim were awesome they took time out of their day on Sunday to give us a ride on the pontoon and told us about the lake. We also loved the sunrises over the lake well worth getting up at 5am for :). It was a great weekend in the woods on a beautiful lake.

Owner's Response: Hi Liz, We are happy to hear you had such a great time at our cabin! We had fun on the pontoon as well. We would love to have you back anytime. Fall is also a great time up here in the northwoods. There are a lot of rustic roads to travel to view the changing leaf color. Keep us in mind for your future travels! Luann

Van Zile Lake

  • 5 of 5

The property is great, comfortable, and well equipped. The area is also great. Amenities are scattered and a little distant but I came to the "North Woods" to get some space. This is our 2nd year staying there. We have nothing but good feelings re the property. The owners, soley Luanne, was very responsive to our questions and general communication. As a nature photographer the area couldn't be better for my area of interest. Unfortunately the weather was poor 5 out of 6 days. Can't fault the owners for Mother Nature's behavior. I still accomplished my photographic goals. My author wife read and wrote. As a note: There is no WiFi, the Dish was not cooperating, and there is a DVD, but not Blu-Ray player. Cellphone service was a little intermittent, you are Up North. My wife went out on the deck to effectively use her phone. You can decide if those are negatives. We were fine and had a great but wet time.

Owner's Response: Kurt & Susan, I am happy to hear you had a great stay despite the weather. The DISH TV issue has been resolved after going through a few hoops. They ended up putting up a 2nd dish to hit a separate satellite. I will be looking at changing out the DVD player for a Blue-Ray player. Any tips to improve are greatly appreciated! Hope to see you guys back again next year, you are welcome anytime! Luann

Great property on a picturesque lake. Clean and had all we needed.

  • 5 of 5

This was our second stay at LLT. See our review from June of 2016 for more details. Once again, it met and surpassed expectations. Cabin was great and so was the fishing. It was a little too cold for the beach but it was nice to have it as a sandy, relaxing option, even to just sit and relax at. LLT is in a great location - far enough off the beaten path for quiet solitude, yet close enough to hiking, stores, town, and plenty of other recreational options. We, however, didn't venture too far from the property and had plenty to do. Hosts are gracious, responsive, and very helpful. Give LLT a try - you won't regret it!

Owner's Response: Thanks Steven! We are glad you enjoyed your stay once again. You are correct in that we are secluded, but plenty to do! Even in winter there are many activities... snowmobiling, skiing, cross country skiing just to name a few. You are welcome back anytime! Luann & Pat Tim

Wonderful week away on a quiet lake

  • 4 of 5

I have always wanted to rent a cabin on a lake for a week and just relax. We weren't sure what to think never having heard of the lake but it was exactly what we needed. The lake was quiet and we pretty much had it to ourselves during the week. Absolutely no disappointments.

Cabin was perfect. Three bedrooms (even though we only used 2) a bath and a half. The kitchen hardware was well stocked. Used the fire pit almost every night. Also grilled every night.

Luann and company provided a binder which helped us to find the closest grocery store, hiking trails, kayaking rivers etc. They also had snowmobiling and 4 wheeling information.

Kayaked, boated, swam, fished, hiked and met some neighbors. Best night was the lightening show on the lake - absolutely amazing! But the sunsets were equally amazing!

We liked it so much we will be back!

Thanks for providing us such a wonderful experience.
