Started great, ended terrifying!
The location was great and an easy walk to everything. The room had some food mess between the fridge and counter, furniture marks on the walls, and the toilet had an issue flushing sometimes. Upon check in, we were told there had been some water damage and the property manager pointed to the ceiling/wall area in the entrance walkway where we didn’t notice any damage. We were told maintenance would be coming by that day to fix it, no mention of anything else out of place. Never saw a maintenance person and never saw anything fixed or changed. We then walked around and checked everything out. When we entered the bathroom, we saw a 2-3 inch diameter hole in the ceiling stuffed with what looked like a piece of brown paper bag. We thought maybe this is the water damage that was meant to get fixed although it was not mentioned upon check in and to us didn’t look like water damage. Then! On the last night of our stay at midnight, I turned the shower on and looked up at the large paper bag hole (because it always caught my eye every time I was in the bathroom). This time, I looked up and saw a dime size drill bit slowly going in and out of a new hole right next to the paper bag hole. It moved slowly as if there was someone above the bathroom hand drilling this new hole. I didn’t hear any power drill sounds. I immediately ran out of the bathroom to tell my friend what I saw, she came into the bathroom and confirmed that the second hole was not there before. We could not think of a logical explanation as to why this would be happening at midnight, other than to peep on people. I’ll add that the whole place was a loft-style apartment, with around 20 foot high ceilings everywhere in the apartment except for over bathroom, which was dry walled over up to the ceiling. There was a 4x4ft access panel above the bathroom door and an AC vent on the other wall. I assumed that area was for AC and plumbing access, but for sure looked big enough for a person to fit. We immediately felt unsafe and left, booked a new hotel and have filed a claim with VRBO. The property managers contact with me was rude and unprofessional. When I received a phone call from him, he was yelling, interrupting me, and then proceeded to hang up. I tried to explain what we had experienced to him, but he refused to hear me out. We still have not been given an explanation as to why a drill bit came through our ceiling in the middle of the night on Friday. This was a very scary experience for us
Overall our experience was great. The location is ideal and easy to get to all the fun attractions. We arrived very late due to a delayed flight but the property manager stayed up late to let us in. The only issue we had was the toilet sometimes did not flush properly. I was always able to fix it but it might warrant some repairs.
We had a great experience. The property manager was very accessible and the location couldn’t have been better for exploring the French Quarter and other bordering areas of New Orleans. Very quiet space for the proximity to bourbon street.
Perfect location off Bourbon
Great place. Extremely quiet location despite being right next to Bourbon St. Convenient walking anywhere in the quarter. Very comfortable for my wife and I. We’ll be back.
Creole Nest II
Location is perfect! Co do is great for two people and bldg felt very secure!
We stay June 19th to the 2rd. The location was perfect. It's close enough to enjoy the night life an with in walking distance of so many shops to go I'm during the day. The pool was super nice. The room was clean and cool and we couldn't hear anything going on outside on the nights we went to bed early. The washer and dryer worked perfectly it was nice to get all our clothes washed before leaving so I didn't have to do it when I got home. They also have their own parking garage. Overall it was great and well worth the price.
Conveniently located no more than 20 minutes away from everything: st. Louis cathedral, world famous cafe du Monde, Jackson square, Jax brewery, the river-walk and the aquarium. A walk to treme, Frenchman street and the shops at canal place is a must.
