Provides tranquility and joyful experience
Boundless panoramic views of the blue sea and colorful sky; the soothing delight of watching the endless delights of this massive God's creation, including the little white waves created by the coral reefs below the property; and the endless beautiful portrait of water as it changes its shades of blue and green punctuated by the sea traffic of cruise ships, ferry boats, and sail boats as they pass-by to and from the harbor of Charlotte Amalie,
The building architecture is another source of delight; it embodies a Caribbean flavor of open rafter ceilings, Spanish balusters that sound the house, some Roman architecture, decks and more deck space to enjoy as one explores the leisurely thoughts of the mind.
This home is excellent for spreading out and/or entertaining. Upon entrance to the great room we were met with 30’ ceilings, gleaming high end marble floors and a grand staircase leading up to the kitchen and bedrooms. The home is tastefully furnished and keeps with the Caribbean influence. Open the doors and let the natural breezes flood the home with fresh air, it cools off nicely without need for added air conditioning. The bedrooms were all clean and spacious with fresh and stylish linens. Each bedroom had an efficient AC unit in them and we only needed a little at night for comfort. The pool was immaculate and a welcome cool down after a day in the hot sun. Pool towels were provided. As lovely as the home is, the big covered porch that opens up to the ocean view was the crown jewel, in our opinion. We came to St Thomas to be outside and the outdoor experience at this property exceeded our expectations. Watch for the small colorful parrots that live in the area, we saw them flying in the mornings! The photos of the home are accurate to what you will actually see inside however all levels of the residence are not part of this rental. The owner occupies the lower floors. There is a little walking trail accessed from the driveway down to Abi Beach below. The trail is easy to see in the daylight, not at night. There is also access to that beach by car on a separate dirt road which is recommended after dark. It’s a fun and close place to go, not crowded. There is plenty of shade and beach chairs available.
The owner, Solomon, was very attentive from the first inquiry I made about the rental. He connected me with Marcus who met us at the airport, took us to the rental car and then brought us to the house and showed us around. Marcus also led us to a grocery store nearby. It was more reasonably priced but it was also a “big box” type store. If your stay is shorter and you only want small amounts, ask him to take you to a smaller grocery store. Prices are higher but easier to get a little jar of mustard! We really liked this outstanding property, and the warm welcome we had from Solomon and Marcus made the stay wonderful. If you have a large group, this is a highly enjoyable option in St Thomas.
It was a pleasure from the beginning of our experience with the owner to the end of our vacation. Both owner and support staff made sure we had what we needed and treated us like close friends instead of renters. The house is perfect for a large group with it's 5 bedrooms; all with their own bathrooms. We all made treasured memories there this past week and are very thankful for it.
First I can not say enough about the kindness of the owner, Dr. Soloman Kabuka. He was incredibly friendly and welcomed us as if we had known him forever. He gave us a tour of his beautiful home and was so kind to walk with us down the pathway to the nearest beach. My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed lounging by the private pool and having dinner on the amazing patio. The view is breathtaking, the home is incredibly spacious, and it's in a great location. We look forward to visiting with Dr. Kabuka and this spectacular home again soon.
This upscale retreat is your home away from home that will take your breath away! We were captivated by its beauty from the time of our arrival to departure. We can truly attest to the many positive comments made by other guest. Rarely have we ever met a more hospitable and charming person as its owner, Dr. Kabuka, who was onsite during our stay in June. We were initially met by property manager Mr. Neville Williams, a longtime resident of the island who was most knowledgeable and highly resourceful. Any concerns that we had were all cleared by these two fine gentlemen and its easy to see why some past guest find their warmth and friendship contagious. Nevertheless, whether it is privacy, quiet, intimacy, sightseeing, entertainment, adventure and more, all can be found at or near Little Taj-by-the- Sea. We only suggest that you plan in advance to ensure you make the most of your vacation--therefore asking all of the important & right questions will help you to achieve a more enjoyable stay. This property is as clean as the refreshing air from the breathtaking sea below and a must return to location! NOTE: A photographer's paradise and an opportunity to capture more of the many authentic photos already displayed on this website!
Our party of 8 (four adults and four children - ages 7-10) spent 6 nights here and absolutely loved it. For starters the view is just as amazing as the photos. I loved waking up in the morning to that view while enjoying breakfast. The kids loved that they could hang out in the pool until we decided the day's activities.
The home was clean, had a well-stocked selection of kitchen supplies, and the layout was perfect for our large party.
Two of the days we spent at Abi Beach, which is a 5-8 minute walk from the home. It was like our own private beach! I think this area is mostly frequented by locals, and because we were visiting in the off-season we had hours there solo. The bar also served great food (try the fish tacos!) so we didn't have to leave for lunch. When I say this was one of the most relaxing vacations I've had, it truly was.
A couple of things to note:
-Get groceries before you go up to the house. It is secluded and perfect for a relaxing time, which also means you'll want to have snacks and food for cooking.
- The property manager and Solomon are very helpful. Don't be afraid to ask for anything. From the time I expressed interest in the property until we checked out, both were very responsive.
-You can cab it, or rent a car. We were nervous about driving in St. Thomas so we cabbed it. Next time we'll rent a car for more flexibility.
Our group of 3 couples loved our stay in St. Thomas at the Little Taj by the Sea. Our views looking out over the water were fantastic. We drank our morning coffee enjoying the sunrise and the ships coming in, and in the evening we would return from Abi Beach to watch the sun go down with a glass of wine in the pool. So relaxing! Marcus made arrangements for our taxi driver, James, to pick us up at the airport and he met us at the villa. After dropping off our bags, Marcus took a few of us grocery shopping. We got wine, beer, pop, ice, and snacks for the week. If we ran out of something, we would pick it up while we were out.
Our transportation for the week was provided by James Dowe, Island Tours. He was reliable and friendly. Always told us the price upfront and we never hesitated to call him. (we used a couple of other taxi services while we were out during the week, but the villa is a bit tricky to find. We preferred to use James' service as much as possible.)
We trekked down the path to Abi Beach almost everyday. We loved it there!! Quiet beach, clean bathrooms, wonderful weekend bands, yummy food (including Sat. night all-you-can-eat BBQ and Sunday brunch) and the best drinks!! Be sure to try the Lime in the Coconut for a refreshing change from other frozen drinks.
Other days, we went exploring. We went for a day in the BVIs on See & Ski Boat Rentals (Capt. Steve) visiting the Baths at Virgin Gorda and the Soggy Dollar at Jost VanDyke. **saw a large pod of dolphins!! Super cool!! We also spent a day on St. John. Took the taxi to the ferry, grabbed a taxi to take us to Cinnamon Bay, and ferried home after a fun-filled day. Our other beach experience was at the Marriott Morning Star Beach Club. It was fun to see other beaches, but we all decided to spend the majority of our time at Abi Beach.
We look forward to returning to St. Thomas in the near future. We can see why so many folks have relocated there!
Secluded sparsely occupied neighborhood providing a tranquil environment. Warm/temperate weather all year round.
A walk down to any of the three beaches, topped off with a dive in the warm Caribbean water sets the pace for the day or a fitting closing to a day full of shopping at Heaven Site Dock Mall, or the tourists' shopping Mecca downtown Charlotte Amalie, or Tutu Mall the local residents' favorite shopping; or could be the end of a day touring of St Thomas' unending scenic delights of hills and mountain views, the local vendors bazaar, water sports, enjoying the local cooking and select restaurants or whatever your fancy.
