This property is located in the City Park section of Mid-City New Orleans, where you can live like a local in a great neighborhood, three short blocks from the ancient live oak trees and 1,300-beautiful acres of New Orleans City Park. The house has a nice front porch and private backyard. It is a five minute walk to the Canal Street or Carrollton Street streetcar lines, Lafitte Greenway (20 minute bike ride to the French Quarter), New Orleans Botanical Garden, Museum of Art, plus plenty of local restaurants and bars.The property is one full side of an owner-occupied, newly renovated, classic New Orleans shotgun double house. There are two bedrooms, each with a sizable closet and new queen size beds. There is a brand new eat-in kitchen with granite counter tops and fully stocked stainless steel appliances. Living room has a flat screen TV with roku and a sofa sleeper. New bathroom with shower and bath and central a/c & heat throughout.

Although we do not have off-street parking, we do generally have sufficient and safe on-street parking either on our block or the blocks adjacent to ours. All standard parking regulations apply for our neighborhood: * Parking is prohibited within 15 feet of a fire hydrant. * Parking is prohibited within 20 feet of intersections, crosswalks or stop signs. * Parking is prohibited against the flow of traffic. * Parking is prohibited within 3 feet of a driveway on either side. * Parking is prohibited on a parade route 2 hours before the parade start time.

Lovely apartment and fantastic location

We had a great weekend in Brian's rental with my sister-in-law and teenage niece on her first trip to New Orleans . The apartment is clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. We didn't really cook as we don't come to New Orleans to eat in, but the kitchen seemed well-equipped. The beds are very comfortable with good quality linens. The location was ideal for us -- an easy walk to City Park and the streetcar to downtown just a bit farther, grocery stores and restaurants nearby -- in a cute residential neighborhood away from the hard partying tourists. Brian and Steve were wonderful to deal with. We could not have been happier.

Great Stay

We really enjoyed the place in NOLA. Easy access to the places we wanted to visit. House set up was a little different, but appreciated the phone call from the owner telling us about the lay out. It worked just fine for the couple of days we stayed. Would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful house by the park

We stayed here for a week and had a wonderful time walking through the park, enjoying the Morning Call Cafe and the animal life. There was always a parking spot within a house or two. The amenities were perfect. We would definately stay here again!

Absolutely perfect!

The place was immaculate with all the amenities we crave - clean, crisp linens, lots of towels, modern kitchen. The location is great - a quick walk to streetcar stops and bus stops (a car is really unnecessary, especially if you’ve tried to drive or park downtown). We bought Jazzy Passes and went everywhere. It’s a lovely neighborhood with friendly folks, a quaint bar around the corner, a coffee shop nearby and definitely be sure to walk to City Park for the coffee and Beignets at the little 24 hour place. Steve and Brian were so easy to work with - very friendly, communicative and accommodating. Can’t say there’s anything I’d change! Thank you so much!!

The house was very clean. Located in a great area. Easy walk to the trolley. Close to restaurants. The owners have been great to work with. In contact with you from the booking all the way to the day you arrive. Look forward to staying here again.

Car: not necessary

City Park is 3 short blocks away. The 1,300-acre Park is one of the nation’s oldest and most unique urban parks. The Park features the oldest stand of Live Oaks, plenty of paths for walking, running and biking, the Besthoff Sculpture Garden, Botanical Gardens, New Orleans Museum of Art, Playgrounds, Amusement Park, Miniature Golf, Storyland, Beignets and Cafe' au lait at Morning Call, and much more.

Local restaurants, bars, and cafes ~1/8-1 mile away. Plenty of unique local offerings.

Canal Street and Carrollton Street Streetcar lines ~5-10 minute walk away. These two streetcar lines (called trolleys in other regions) are primary public transportation arteries to get you downtown, to the French Quarter, Riverbend, Audubon Zoo/Park and the Garden District.

Bayou St. John- ~3/4 mile away. Early portage of the Mississippi River that attracted early explorers, traders, trappers and settlers.

Fair Grounds Race Track ~1 mile away. Thoroughbred horse racing November-March and site of the iconic New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival.

French Quarter ~2 miles away. Travel down Orleans or Esplanade Avenues and be in the historic French Quarter in minutes.

Audubon Zoo ~3 miles away. Either jump on the Carrollton Streetcar or a short drive away.

Lake Pontchartrain ~3 miles away. Travel up Marconi Drive to the south shore of this beautiful lakefront.

Mercedes-Benz Superdome ~3.5 miles away. Where the New Orleans Saints play home games and the annual College Football Sugar Bowl is held. Plus many other events.

Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve ~12 miles away. Great trails to walk and explore local bayous, swamps and visit their interpretive center.
