Large and comfortable family apartment steps from Place Monge food market

Bedrooms 3
Space 880 sq. ft.
Property type apartment
Minimum Stay 5 nights

About the property

Bedrooms 3, Bathrooms 2, Sleeps 8

The apartment is in a typical Parisian residential neighborhood close to the popular rue Mouffetard, a pedestrian street which contains restaurants, food shops, and open-air food stalls. Also close by are the Pantheon, the Roman Arenas (Arenes Lutece), and the Botanical Gardens (Jardin des Plantes). It is close to a supermarket, several patisseries, and specialty fish, meat, and cheese shops.

This large (880 Sq. Ft.) apartment features a huge living room/dining room, a modern kitchen, two large bedrooms and a third smaller one, and two full bathrooms. Remodeled in 2000, it features the best of old and the new; antique furniture, but with a modern kitchen and bathrooms. The double-glazed windows keep noise to a minimum.

The living room is furnished with 1920's leather armchairs, an antique blanket chest (as a coffee table), and a queen-size sofa-bed. On the shelves are antique leather-bound French encyclopedias and art books, as well as a stereo and TV/VCR. The floor-to-ceiling windows give the room plenty of light. It been remodeled with refinished parquet floors, but retains the charm of the original.

The Dining Room adjoins the Living Room, and is furnished with an antique 18th century mahogany dining table and somewhat more modern cafe chairs. The table will sit 6-8 comfortably. A console on the side of the room holds linens. As with the Living Room, the floor-to-ceiling windows give plenty of light. The dining room has an antique carpet wall-hanging and a modern chandelier.

The owner's master bedroom is large by Parisian standards, with a queen-sized bed, a desk and chair, a nightstand, and a hanging closet.

The second bedroom has a double bed. It is a little smaller than the master bedroom, but features a walk-in closet and windows onto the inner courtyard.

The third, small, bedroom has a bunkbed for two and plenty of shelving for storage. There is a window onto an interior courtyard, so this room has the advantage of being both cool and quiet.

The fully-equipped kitchen has a Refrigerator/Freezer, Halogen Four-burner Glass cook-top with Multi-speed ventilation hood, a multi-function convection oven, microwave oven, and a dishwasher, as well as a clothes washing machine and dryer. There are also fans and an ironing board and iron. A complete assembly of cooking and serving utensils are provided.

One of the two bathrooms has a full-sized bathtub with wall shower, dual washbasins, and toilet. The second bathroom has a walk-in shower, basin, and toilet.

Superb location!

  • 5 of 5

Although a bit noisy because of the metro that runs under the building, the location is incredible and the place is very charming. Well worth it.

Wonderful Apartment and Great Location

  • 5 of 5

Five retired teachers stayed here for 5 nights in Paris. Apartment was excellent. All things in the apartment worked well. Had all we needed as well as the location was great.Owner, Max, I believe lives in California as I was able to communicate with him prior to arriving. We all highly recommend the place. If looking for Craft Beer, the only place in all of France we found was called the Local Pub which was a block away. The metro is a block away, Notre Dame and the Seine is a five minute walk, restaurants of the Latin Quarter a few block away and bakery and grocery store one block away had walls of wine from 2 euros to 8 euros, all very good. Would stay here again and highly recommend it.

Family of 7.

  • 5 of 5

Our family found this home away from home an ideal setting for our visit to this grand city. The apartment was conveniently located close to the Metro at Place Monge where a market for the purchase of fresh fruits, vegetables, etc. was held on several days. One can find parks, pastiserries, cafes, bistros and other shopping options nearby. The famous Rue Mouffetard is just a short walk away as are many other sights in the Latin Quarter. The apartment was very clean and attractively decorated. The sleeping arrangements were excellent even the hide a bed afforded a very comfortable sleep. The kitchen was stocked with coffee, tea and staples to tide us over. We appreciated the ease of obtaining the keys from our greeter who was very friendly answering all our questions clearly. Our request for booking was promptly responded to and the payment process was straight forward. We would, with confidence, recommend this apartment as a great place to stay in Paris.

Wonderful apartment and excellent location.

  • 5 of 5

My fiancee and I met my parents and my cousin in Paris for the week and were recommended to stay here. All I can say is that I’m very glad we took that recommendation because it was lovely and the location was superb for our needs. There are plenty of sights to see close by, as well as some truly fine restaurants. The apartment itself was very nicely appointed, open and airy, with plenty of light during the day. It was the perfect ‘home base’ for our little Paris adventure and, at night, very comfortable and cozy. I would definitely recommend it to friends and family.

Loved our stay here

  • 5 of 5

My family and I, along with my brother, his wife and son stayed here on vacation and we really enjoyed our stay. The place is gorgeous and very luxurious and located in an absolutely wonderful part of Paris. My wife and I stayed in one room, my brother and his wife stayed in another, and our sons shared the 3rd room with bunk beds and we were all very comfortable and slept well the entire stay. Very comfortable furniture and the place really made our trip. The location makes it a fantastic place to enjoy the Latin Quarter. Loved staying here, if we ever come back to Paris we're definitely going to stay again.

Exceptional location, fantastic space

  • 5 of 5

I have been fortunate to have work in Paris over the last 5 years and this was my 6th visit to the city. Previous stays were in the 17th or the 18th Arrondissement and this was my first stay in the 5th. I have to confess that the neighborhood and the apartment far exceeded my expectations and I couldn't have been happier. The apartment itself is commodious, comfortable and well appointed in terms of amenities. The neighborhood has a bounty of great shops for groceries, produce, butchers and specialty shops, plus an easy walk to several exceptional restaurants. Close access to two different Metro lines was also appreciated.
