Bedrooms 4
Property type house
Minimum Stay 2 nights

About the property

3-bedroom, 3-Bath Victorian In Chicago's Most Sought After Neighborhood

We have four sleeping areas:

-- master bedroom with a king-sized bed that sleeps two;

-- A second bedroom with a bunk bed that sleep two;

-- A third bedroom with a queen-sized bed that sleeps two;

-- And a library with a day bed that sleeps one and has an attached bathroom.

Just so you are aware: we do not have a TV at this property. We of course have wi-fi throughout the house. and in today's world with so many viewing options on laptops and iPads it might just work out fine. But we did want to tell you so you are not surprised.

Five reasons you should book this single-family home today:

Reason #1: You can experience Chicago like a local in the heart of tree-lined Lincoln Park and Old Town. You can walk to the beach, to the Lincoln Park Zoo and the Magnificent Mile shopping district. The famous Chicago 'L' train station is only a 5-minute walk away.

Reason #2: You'll have plenty of space to spread out. Why squeeze your family into a tiny condo when you can live in a four-bedroom house for what you'd pay for a hotel room?

Reason #3: You can relax on our beautiful deck after your day in the city or at the beach.

Reason #4: Garage parking is FREE for all rooms booked by May 1. Old Town and Lincoln Park offer very little street parking, and the city is not shy about towing cars away. Why worry? Parking in our garage comes with the house.

Reason #5: Rent our home and walk, bike or take a short cab ride to Cubs games at Wrigley Field

Our house straddles the border of Chicago's quaint, leafy Old Town neighborhood. It is the perfect place for families with children as well as adults looking for a true Chicago experience.

We have priced our home so it will always be the most inexpensive single-family residence on VRBO.

Restaurants are all within walking distance, include Twin Anchors, the country's #1 rated ribs joint.

If you like nightlife, the charming Old Town business district includes some of the best restaurants and pubs in Chicago, and includes the now-famous Second City Comedy Club.

Turn right and walk five blocks to the 'L' station and connect to anywhere in the city.

About Jamie

He is a publisher and she is a concert pianist, which explains the Steinway grand in our living room.

Jamie purchased this house in 2004

Why Jamie chose Chicago

We were looking for the perfect urban home — one that provides a great family feeling but located smack dab in the middle of the city.

What makes this house unique

It's almost impossible to find a city house with light streaming in from every window. Our neighbors' lots to the north and south are gardens. This open space gives our guest the impression that they're in the country. You can't find that anywhere else.

Garage parking seems like a small matter. Not here in Lincoln Park and Old Town. It is nearly impossible to find legal, street parking here. And the city is ruthless when it comes to ticketing. And our garage is FREE if you book by June 1.

Perfect for an extended family!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great stay at this cute house in Lincoln Park neighborhood. We had 7 family members (ages 13 to 75) stay here so that we could attend a wedding. Owner was there for one night in the garden apartment and was helpful in getting oriented. It was just the perfect spot to be to get around Chicago and still get the experience of being in a neighborhood. Would rent again!

Great location

  • 4 of 5

Our family stayed here for my daughter's wedding. Was perfect, as only a couple of blocks away from the venue. It was great having playthings for the little ones. There was construction next door but we actually enjoyed watching the workers and progress. Plus, we were out and about most of the time. Only reason I have for not giving it 5 stars was the mediocre bedding, no blankets and some pillows without cases, old mattress' and could have used more towels. There were plenty of staples stocked in the kitchen which was a great help.

Awesome location and place!

  • 5 of 5

We had a blast at this wonderful home in Lincoln Park. Right in the heart of it. We walked across the street to our fave brunch restaurant and took Ubers to and from Lolla or the El train! Had a fantastic time and the owners came by for a quick visit to see if we had any questions. Great rental!!! Would definitely rent from them again next time!! Thank you!!

Lovely house and a fabulous location

We had a wonderful experience staying at this lovely, comfortable house in the heart of a great part of town - walking distance to the zoo, beach, and so much more. The owners were very gracious and helpful. All around a fantastic rental experience.

We stayed here with family in lead up to a wedding and loved it. The house is gorgeous and in a great area. There's a gorgeous yard and fab kitchen and generally a really stunning house. Everything was ready for us when we got there and the owners were super helpful and communicative. The garage was also really great because street parking the area is hard. If you're considering this place, go for it - it's fantastic.

A trip back in time yet right in the middle of a modern city

  • 5 of 5

We shared 4 days and 5 nights in a beautiful 100 year old home in the heart of Lincoln Park. We could walk to restruants, markets and the zoo. My family got to experience the city as a resident and a tourist. We had excellent weather, very comfortable beds and plenty of room to spread out. We were visited by several different birds in the garden and ate breakfast and snacks in the spacious kitchen and dining room.
