This charming house was built in 1905 and remodeled inside and out with many original touches retained like turn-of-the-century door knobs, and a built-in display case. The most recent upgrade includes hardwood floors and in-ceiling speakers. The ample back yard is a great place to play and enjoy the fire pit.

The house is centrally located to take advantage of all that Sandpoint has to offer including Lake Pend d'Oreille, City Beach Park, The Festival at Sandpoint, Lost in the 50's, Schweitzer Mountain. Park your car and enjoy the town - you'll be within walking or biking of distance from downtown and there are bikes included with the rental.

Great Place and Location

Stayed here for a 2 week long business trip to Sandpoint and had a blast. Great set up and clean accommodations for a price that beats local hotels. Walking distance to downtown for food and drinks. Warm gas fireplace that kept our gear dry during a rainy week. Cool backyard with quite chickens. Couldn't ask for more! The host was helpful in extending our stay and everything ran smoothly.

Bottom line you should stay here!

No sleep

This house was very disappointing. The one downfall to this house really overshadowed any positive things about the house. There is no airflow through the house. The house was very stuffy and humid. So we had to sleep with the windows open, there was only one fan in the house that we saw. So we had to put it in the room with the double bunk beds. The top bunk bed became very unbearable without the fan for our kids to sleep. And that didn't even help. Because our windows were open, we could hear the trains all night long blowing their horn's. I have never heard so many trains pass-through one town in one night in my whole entire life. We maybe slept a couple hours each night.

The house is cute, it has some fun things to offer. Pretty clean. But it was not worth sacrificing our sleep. Especially with four kids and going to the amusement park all day. It would been perfect if we could have slept.

If you do plan on staying here, here is a list of things you will want to bring:

*your own Pillows

*Everything you would need for a meal, including salt and pepper

*Maybe some fans if you're coming in the summer

Owner's Response: We truly enjoy hosting and make a huge effort to provide all of the things that make for an enjoyable stay. While we are disappointed that Alicia and her family had such a poor experience, after considering all of the complaints and taking them to heart, we are slightly perplexed. We aren't sure how so many provisions were overlooked. We would like to address Alicia's complaints. First, the house temperature. The house notes describe where the fans are as there is one fan for each bedroom and also a ceiling fan in the living room. It is unfortunate that they didn't find the second fan as the house notes state that it is in the closet of the second bedroom. The temperatures were in the high 90's during their stay but unfortunately we have no control of the weather and this was an uncommonly hot summer. As a side note, we added a window AC unit as a result of a different renter’s feedback, who had been in contact with us during their stay. During their stay there was a lot of smoke from surrounding wildfires which caused the renters to not want to open the windows at night. We installed the window AC unit during the second day of their stay and will be leaving it in place for future renters. Secondly, the trains. There are several train tracks in the Sandpoint area. The closest train to this house is .7 miles. Any house in or near town will be within earshot of trains. We have never received this as a complaint and have never much noticed the train sounds or even considered trains as a potential problem. In terms of amenities in the house, we offer a variety of 10 pillows in a house that sleeps 6. We offer 4 down and 6 polyfill to accommodate different pillow preferences. We provide salt and pepper grinders and a garlic salt grinder. We provide olive oil and tea. It sounds like these items were overlooked. The kitchen is fully stocked with utensils, pots, pans, baking dishes, a salad spinner, bowls, hand juicer, tea pot, coffee maker, baking sheets, cutting boards, cooking utensils, etc. In the future, please reach out to us with any concerns and we will be happy to address whatever we can in real time. For potential renters, we hope you will consider the many excellent reviews we have. While Alicia’s experience is regrettable, we believe it was an anomaly based on both our years of experience living in the house as well as the myriad of feedback we have received from other renters over the years of operating it as a vacation rental.

Great little house with an excellent location!

Jen and Justin have done a fantastic job with the upkeep/renovation of this house. It was a very comfortable stay with easy access to the 'downtown' of Sandpoint. The extra added touches - the bikes, the fire pit, the games/crafts - really enhance the stay. It was also nice to have options provided for coffee, dining and things to do. :)

Great location

Tidy bungalow a few blocks from downtown. Wonderful covered patio, nice yard (including chickens that shared their eggs) and firepit that would have been lovely in cooler weather. Furnishings are simple but adequate. Location is ideal. We had our own bikes - but cruisers were provided for anyone who needs them.

Great coffee shop and farmers market are a block or two away. We made dinner with fresh produce and relaxed on the back patio into the night - delightful!
