Our home is a true water lovers’ home with endless fun activities, and a great place to relax or stroll along the 0.8 mile stretch from the house to the end of the road along the harbor on one side and beautiful houses on the other!

With its own Private Dock and refreshing Swimming Pool, this spacious and comfortable house offers an abundance of fun and relaxation! The house is located in one of the most desirable locations in Barrington, and East Narraganset Bay, and one of the most beautiful in New England. Recreational sports abound—from the private dock you can boat around Narragansett Bay exploring picturesque bay-side towns and dock-side dining. Kayak on the Barrington River to 100 Acre Cove enjoying the tremendous wildlife. Fish for Bass or Scup from the dock. Bike and walk along Mathewson Road and take in the views of the active Yacht harbor, the beautiful houses and Warren across the river. Set out on excursions to Providence, Newport, Fall River, New Bedford, Cape Cod and even Boston. On the other hand, you can just sit at the pool or balcony, watch the boats go by, and enjoy the garden, birds and butterflies. In the evening you can cozy up by the fireplace and play ping-pong and pool, or take a refreshing swim while watching the moon shining over the harbor.

The East Bay Bike Path is merely 250 yards away, perfect for biking, rollerblading or just walking. Kayaking a mile from your dock brings you to 100 Acre Cove, dotted with many small islands with breathtaking bird and wildlife population. On the way, pass by the mile long water playground- waterskiing, tubing, banana boating, for endless fun.

The house is nestled within half a mile in each direction, between the centers of Barrington and Warren villages, offering high-end shopping to the west, and quaint, exciting galleries, antique stores, and varied restaurants due-east. Providence, Newport, Bristol, Wickford Harbor, Narragansett and Jamestown as well as many other attractions are within a short drive, or an easy boat ride, straight from your private dock. Nearby Providence is home to the renowned Providence Waterfires, Concerts Under the Elms at the John Brown House Garden, walking tours of the Eastside or Federal Hill and much more. Newport and Bristol afford visits in magnificent mansions, many music festivals, boat shows, live entertainment, concerts in the park, shopping, restaurants and theater. The Mount Hope Bridge, Tiverton and Fall River are picturesque and abundant with history and character including the USS Massachusetts at Battleship Cove and the Marine Museum with remains from HMS Titanic.

Places To Go – Things To Do

By Sea: Walk from the house to your private dock, and you are ready to go – cruise down the Barrington Harbor, pass historic Warren Harbor, and in a few minutes you are in Narragansett bay for fishing, exploring, or simply sun and fun. Downtown Providence is 11 nautical miles from the house, and East Greenwich about 10 NM. Newport and Jamestown are about 18-20 NM, and scenic, historic Bristol, with its restaurants and quaint shops is a mere 8 NM away. An ocean boat trip to Block Island is 36 NM. For banana boating (provided in the garage), water skiing, or jet skiing the one mile water playground is only a third of a mile from your dock, and most of the time you are the only boat around. Launch your kayak from the dock, and kayak down the picturesque Barrington and Warren harbors, or paddle about a mile to 100 Acre Cove: a serene, large, saltwater estuary with many islands full of ospreys, herons, egrets, terrapin turtles, and other wildlife. The beautiful Palmer River estuary is a mile away, with many tributaries for fishing, picture taking, and quiet relaxing time in nature. In the evening, boat to dinner in one of the many waterfront restaurants in Warren, Bristol, East Greenwich, or under the magnificent Mount Hope Bridge to Tiverton and Fall River.

By Land: The East-Bay Bike Path is 250 yards from the house: stretching 14 miles between Providence and Bristol, through woods and along the bay with tablets explaining the historic significance of areas. Bike or walk half a mile due-east to historic, artistic Warren village, the original home of Brown University. It will charm you with its waterfront, many galleries, theater, antique shops, boutiques, bars, and restaurants. Half a mile due west is the Barrington town center, with a small shopping center hosting a well stocked supermarket, variety of shops from falafel, pizza and ice-cream, to Talbots and Ann Taylor, supermarket, drugstores and coffee shops, book shop, and other essential and delightful treasures to cater to many needs or taste.

Take a stroll down Mathewson Road right outside your expansive yard– it is a popular walk with magnificent views of the Barrington and Warren harbors, and the marinas and boat yards on the other side. If you find your pool too relaxing, the Barrington Town Beach is 2 miles away allowing swimming in the bay and a sandy beach to walk along with views of Narragansett Bay.

In the weekend check out the Providence (11 miles) Waterfires (http://waterfire.org/) – a fantastic street festival along the old downtown canal. Newport (18 miles) is a great resort with many Festivals, turn of the century mansions, and lively waterfront. A stroll on Cliff Walk brings you in to the early 20th century playground of America’s wealthiest, with its stunning mansions and dramatic ocean views. Battleship cove in Fall River - only 13 NM by boat or 10 miles by car- is a floating marine museum including the battleship Massachusetts, the destroyer Kennedy, a submarine, and many other interesting exhibits. ‘Moby Dick’ Country – the New Bedford Whaling Museum (23 miles) is a first stop to enticing New Bedford with its working harbor. The Mystic Seaport and aquarium and Boston with all of its attractions, and the Cape Code Canal are all about an hour away.

Perfect House and Perfect Location

  • 5 of 5

My family and I spent a great 4 day weekend at the house for my 50th Birthday and Father's Day weekend. The house was spacious, very clean, and well appointed. We thoroughly enjoyed the pool and used the dock to launch our kayaks numerous times. The views from the living room and master bedroom are wonderful. The yard allowed for numerous games of ladder ball and corn hole. Being dog friendly, we brought our two dogs and the fenced in yard worked out perfectly for them too.

Perfect accommodation for our family reunion!

  • 5 of 5

My father was turning 80 and all the kids were coming in with their families for a week of fun and family times. My parents live in Barrington nearby on 100 Acre Cove. My sister/husband and family joined our family to share this spacious house. It was a great fit for 10 adults (parents and adult children). The kitchen had all you would need to include 2 fridge/freezers or overflow. The pool table/ping pong table and outside pool were constantly in use. We used the dock visiting back and forth with the other families by dingy and paddle boards.

The grocery store and other shops were very close by and so convenient. We brought our bikes with us and rode the great "rails to trails" bike paths to Providence.

The owners were easy to work with and very responsive.

We loved our stay and would definitely return! Thanks!

Comfortable for large groups

  • 5 of 5

A group of high school friends and our families spent a very happy long weekend here, mostly in the pool area! The location is VERY convenient with Starbucks, Dunkin' Donuts, and the grocery store just a minute drive away, and the house was big enough to accommodate our large group (and the two fridges were also great for our large appetites!). The owners were extremely helpful and responsive to my questions and made renting this property easy. Thank you!

A PERFECT 10!

  • 5 of 5

Our vacation could not have been more perfect. The home was just beautiful, with ample room for the whole family. There were six adults, two children under 3 and two pups. The views were lovely and the breezes coming off the harbor were just wonderful. My grandson was so thrilled checking to see if he caught any crabs off the dock. No luck, but fun watching him. Having the pool was fantastic. Some evenings we just barbecued and hung out at the pool. Having the option of going to the beach or not, was perfect. The location of the house between the beautiful towns of Barrington and Warren was perfect. No need to get into the car if we didn't want to. Nice restaurants and stores etc. to meet our every need. No traffic or congestion to deal with. My entire family gave me a check plus on this vacation. We all had a wonderful time. Access to as much or as little as we wanted. What else could there possibly be to match all of this? I could go on and on. I could not have imagined that things would have been so perfect and so wonderful. The entire family is ready to come back. That's a real compliment! Everyone in total agreement on this one.

Great house for a family reunion

  • 5 of 5

We just had our annual family reunion here and had a great time. The house location is perfect. Walking distance to downtown Barrington and right on the water. The pool and ping pong table were constantly in use by the kids. The owner was professional and very easy to work with.
