Fully furnished and decorated, this house is very secluded Victorian on 45 Forested acres built in the 90's perched over a hillside with great views on acreage. It's 6 bedrooms are able to accommodate 12 guests with more space to spread out if needed. There are nearby birdwatching, hiking, and natural areas. Sauvie Island is just a 4 minute car ride away. Heading into downtown Portland for dinner or attractions will take you 17 to 20 minutes door to door in most cases.
•For larger gatherings:
•This home is a great place to feel like you're a hundred miles from the city. Very private and quiet.
•Most rooms set up with Web TV (ROKU) devices.
•Fully stocked kitchen. Bring your own food, replace what you use from the pantry.
Guests have access to the entire home but for a storage room. This includes the main floor with two suites (own bathrooms), living, dining rooms and kitchen, the second floor with two bedrooms, shared bath, loft, and a third floor tower for storm watching, star gazing, or pretending you're a pretty pretty princess (kids LOVE it). The daylight basement level has a pool table and TV lounge, two more bedrooms, wet bar, laundry, and a family bath.
Interaction with Guests
I may meet guests for check in or provide door code and communicate via email or text. My presence is very minimal and apart from being available via phone, I may be doing maintenance on the grounds, but try to reserve that for when visitors are not present.
McNamee is a quiet rural street in the hills just beyond Forest Park. The house is set back far from the road. You will have a sense of being nestled in the forest on a perch with a great view Northward.
The nearest public transit is the city bus that goes as far as Sauvie Island, just 2 miles short of the house. You will certainly need a vehicle.
This property is jaw-dropping - absolutely beautiful, as well as clean and comfortable in all parts of the house. The owner really bent over backward to make our stay pleasant. There was even a place that is walking distance away where we could buy farm fresh eggs in the morning! Even my 2 year old loved it. Highly recommend this house for families and large groups.
My husband rented the entire estate for my 50th birthday party weekend. Our party arrived on Friday, and thoroughly enjoyed the entire weekend. Plenty of bedrooms, comfortable furniture, 3 kitchens...we were so organized!! From breakfasts thru hors d'oeuvres for 40...we were not disappointed by the "ready" kitchens. All that we had to bring were the food and beverages. We had all 9 bedrooms full of adults. We all plan to come back next year!! The house is not perfect, but that made it a little less daunting. It is a 5500+ sq ft house...it would feel like a museum if in pristine condition. Just enough normal wear and tear to feel like home. =)
The house is positioned on a bluff overlooking the Sauvie Island valley. We had clear views of Mt St Helens and Mt Adams, with Mt Rainier peeking over the ridge. Stunning!! The road up the hill is windy and steep, but SO OREGON!! The house is near the top, so be patient and enjoy the climb. =)
Our host, Brian King, was awesome. He is quick to reply to all notes and queries. He made our maiden voyage into HomeAway renting a breeze. From reservations to payments and deposits, everything is so simple! All of our guests enjoyed meeting Brian too. He is friendly and quite charming.
Brian's house was perfect for our family to stay and celebrate Christmas. The large kitchen and eating area made cooking easy. We were lucky enough to have the sun come out for a few days and the view was incredible! The house is close enough to Portland so you can get into the city easily but at the same time you really feel like you are very secluded. The house was comfortable and spacious enough to spread out in. Our two grandchildren loved the tower as well! We would stay here again. Brian was also very quick to respond to any questions I had.
Good location with excellent views. Close enough to Portland and far enough to enjoy the tranquility. House is definitely large enough to accommodate everyone. Brian has been great and tries to make your stay as pleasant as possible.
Great house, great location, and Brian was super easy to work with.
Had our family reunion here with me, my wife three daughters and their spouses. Absolutely perfect location. And view! Amazing great view of Mt St Helens. One clear day actually also saw Mt Rainer and Mt Adams. House is wonderful and Brian King is very prompt and efficient responding to any needs or maintenance issues. (all house have them.) We enjoyed our stay so
