Norway pines was lovely. The cabin was well appointed and clean. We couldn’t ask for anything more. Thank you!
Lovely cabin in the woods.
A well-kept cabin on Lake Superior's south shore. Although the weather didn't cooperate for us to spend much time outside, the cabin is cozy and comfortable.
Beautiful cottage in Port Wing
This cottage is a great place to stay. The cottage had plenty of room for 3 adults, it was extremely clean, and well appointed. We were very happy to have access to a washer and dryer and dishwasher. All the furniture was comfortable and clean. We also appreciated the guidebooks about the area. This cottage is a short walk to the marina, which is a fun place to go. We rode bikes into Port Wing, which is a short ride. The store in Port Wing has fresh fish. We also liked the Bear Paw restaurant. We opted to stay in Port Wing rather than Bayfield and I am very happy with that choice. Port Wing is quiet, but there are great beaches nearby. The cottage is in a great location. It is very quiet and relaxing. If you are looking for a place to get away, then this is it. Another nice thing is that this cottage is more centrally located than staying in Bayfield. We took kayaks to Meyer beach, which wasn't far, went to Bayfield for the boat tour, drove to Duluth and also visited Amnicon Falls, which is a very nice park.
Quiet cabin in the woods
We had a wonderful time at this cabin in the woods. It was an easy walk to the Port Wing Marina and we spent time swimming, collecting rocks, bird watching and fishing over there. We didn't realize we needed to portage the available canoes so we didn't bring a big enough car to do that so my son was a little disappointed but it worked out overall. The cabin is clean and beautiful with recent upgrades. We also found it very well stocked for our needs. We ate at the Bear Paw Cafe several times and found it yummy. We kayaked out of Red Cliff and that was fun. And we hiked at Meyers Beach. Overall the cabin was a great find and a wonderful jumping off point for an Apostle Islands adventure!
The perfect getaway!
My friends and I have alternated staying in Port Wing and Grand Marais, MN. We have stayed in Grand Marais three times and this was our third stay in Port Wing. This cottage was the perfect space for us: not too big and not too cramped. It's not as far a drive as Grand Marais, and you can't beat the towns of Port Wing, Cornucopia, and Bayfield. We liked the cottage so much that we just hung out there, and hunted for driftwood on the marina beach, for a couple of days: it was so relaxing! We'll definitely return!
Wonderful place to stay.
Had a great time and I will the cabin was wonderful. Will be back.
