The South Shore is truly a place to get away from it all, but not so far from modern conveniences that getting food and gas feels like a chore. The guest book contains tips on all the incredible outdoor activities around here, as well as local arts, plus places to get groceries, dine out, grab a drink, etc. This is truly a year-round destination, whether you enjoy outdoor adventure, local cuisine, art, or simply the company of friends & family in one of the most beautiful locations in the northern U.S.

The home is just a few minutes' walk from the center of Cornucopia, which has a delightful general store/market, awesome coffee shop, bar/restaurant, and marina. Bayfield is about 25 minutes away, as is Washburn (where you’ll find the largest grocery store in the area). Ashland is about 35 minutes away, with a natural foods co-op, Wal-Mart, and a wider range of shops). Superior & Duluth are an hour and a bit away.

You'll be easy walking distance to the lake/beach, the shops & restaurants/bars, gas station, and coffee shop that are in Cornucopia. The cabin's driveway easily accommodates two vehicles.

You’ll find a gourmand's dream kitchen with all stainless appliances (gas oven/stove, dishwasher, and the fanciest fridge ever), open-plan dining & living room, two bedrooms with queen beds, and a full bath (including a bathtub - a rarity for vacation rentals in the area). Oh, did we also mention a full-size clothes washer & dryer? We suspect you won’t want to leave.

Every aspect of this cabin has been thoughtfully designed & decorated, down to the gorgeous bathroom & kitchen countertops and backsplashes. The living room features a leather sofa that converts to a queen bed, as well as equally-comfy leather love seat & oversized chair. And for family movie nights, the living room has a wall-mounted smart tv and soundbar. The dining table seats six comfortably.

The exterior features a wrap-around deck, gas grill, and even a fire pit to enjoy on crisp & cool evenings.

Escaping to the South Shore doesn’t mean leaving all the mod cons behind! The cabin features high-speed wifi, central heat AND air conditioning, smart tvs in the living & main bedroom, and even built-in USB charging outlets. You'll need a car to reach the cabin as there's no public transit to speak of on the south shore. The nearest airport is about an hour and 15 minutes away, in Duluth.

This home is not on a "wooded" lot, but does have a small outdoor area for sitting around a campfire.
This home is dog friendly: While we make a considerable effort to clean up pet hair between guests, there may still be a few stray hairs in the home.
