About Rebecca Fields

We built this house as our family home. The kids are grown and we have moved to Belle Fourche for our retirement. We love the house so much we wanted others to build wonderful memories there just like we did with our family. We have had 5 generations grow up in Lead, SD and our hearts really are in the Black Hills of South Dakota.

Rebecca Fields purchased this house in 1977

Why Rebecca Fields chose Black Hills

We have chosen to keep the house in the family because of the fond memories we have made there. Our 4 kids have grown but still bring their own children back to Country Heaven so they can experience the beauty of the Black Hills. We love walking out the front door and exploring our own backyard and having adventures every day. From hiking, biking, snowmobiling, downhill and cross country skiing our family has experience almost all the Black Hills have to offer. We often go camping, boating and ATV riding on the beautiful trails. We invite all of our friends to stay with us. You may come as our guests, you will leave as friends.

What makes this house unique

Waking up to a hot cup of coffee and looking out the picture window to the east is the best part of waking up here. Listening to the birds chirping and watching the deer graze in the front yard is as picture perfect as nature intended. The sun warms as it rises in the summer and you can play football, baseball or just stroll along the creek in the yard. In the winter we have great hills for sled riding and deep enough snow for the best snowmen! Being able to jump on the Mickelson Trail just down the road is great for bike rides to town or snowmobiling to the resort across the hills for lunch. As the sun sets you can sit around the fire and watch as each star comes out. Without the city lights drowning them out, you can count millions of stars above you on a clear night. An amazing finish to every wonderful day in the hills.

Excellent location, especially for those wanting to use the Mickelson Trail

This was a great location. 9 of us spent a comfortable week at this cabin. The kitchen was a good size and we extended the dining table to fit all of us. We also appreciated the card tables for games. The cabin was clean and well equipped, it was nice to have the garage for bike storage. The deck was nice to hang out on and read and "chase the sun".

No wifi was not a huge problem since we were so close to town where there are several free wifi options.

We enjoyed watching the deer walk by in the evening and the fish jumping in the pond. Thanks

Wonderful vacation

  • 5 of 5

The home was very well furnished and is in a lovely part of the Black Hills. The owner was easy to work with and wanted to make sure we enjoyed our stay. I would definitely stay here again with my children and grandchildren. We saw wildlife and was able to enjoy the beauty of the pine trees.

Country mountain home, ideally situated for both convenience & solitude.

  • 5 of 5

Like going home to grandma's house in the country! Can feel the love, warmth, and family in this home. Idyllic setting overlooking a mountain meadow with stream and pond, no visible neighbors, yet next door to golf course, bike trail, minutes from ski areas, Lead, Deadwood, & Spearfish Canyon. Completely furnished, all we needed were groceries. Great floor plan & furnishings for a large family like ours. Hosts were friendly, welcoming, and wonderful to communicate with. They even left us a personal note plus mailed my earrings when I left them behind. This home in a resort setting is filled with and continues to generate happy, wholesome family ties and special gatherings. I would definitely return!

Feelimng renewed

Outstanding area to be at for resting and close enough to stores for anything you might need. Great place with all that one would need. My family had a great time we were able to see so many things close by. We just loved the peaceful time in the morning watching the deer and turkeys go through every morning.

Our family had couple of tough years with loved ones passing away but being out in this cabin it helped us renew our faith in God and our family. We praise the Lord in knowing we will see them again, telling all the stories and sharing the memories just made us stronger and being at this cabin helped us do that

It was such a great place my brother said he found his new home and was not leaving, was tough for him to have to go back to CA with all the noise and hurried life.

We felt as though the outside was the best part. The inside was fine. The beds need new mattresses and with our group we could have used a few more nice towels. Overall we would stay there again as the layout of the home worked very well for us.
