Perfect weekend getaway!

  • 5 of 5

This was our second visit to Bear Paw and we had just as much fun this time around as we did our first visit. Absolutely love this little gem in the woods! Will definitely be back for a third visit!

Quiet retreat without being too far from civilization

  • 4 of 5

It felt like camping in style without the need for an RV. A bit breezy outside, but not so windy that we couldn't enjoy a nice campfire (glad we remembered to bring wood, paper, and kindling) before heading inside where it was comfortable and quiet. The full-sized bed was a little small for two larger adults (who are used to a king) to sleep soundly. However, the additional reclining chair allowed us to take some restful (but separate) day naps after a long hike at Crab Tree Falls, which is only a few miles away. We couldn't quite figure out how to use the phone as it has been ages since we've had to make a collect call from a land line (we forgot how to do it and an operator didn't answer, so we couldn't figure out how to make a call). It was nice to be away from it all (which is what we wanted) but honestly a bit unsettling to not have instant access to the Internet with our cell phones. We laughed about that a few times when we thought to Google some things, such as how to make a collect call. The friendly neighbor/property owner is not too close nor too far away, and the road back to civilization is in good shape -- so it's not a big deal. Overall, it was very nice and we would return again with the kids who would surely enjoy the beds in the loft. It was great!

Very comfortable and quiet!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed at Bear Paw cabin to celebrate Valentine's Day. We truly enjoyed our stay in this cozy, quiet cabin. We especially liked the wood stove, which we actually did some cooking on. We enjoyed the view of the woods from the dining area as we ate breakfast in the mornings. We would go back in a heartbeat!
