If you are visiting Nelson County and enjoy History, this is the place. Gorgeous home. The owners have placed signage to help tell the story and could not be more gracious. We came into this majestic home greeted by a Christmas tree. So so welcoming.
This truly is a historic home! The interior was so well done. Wonderful 11 foot ceilings and antiques. Private with farm land everywhere. Beds and furniture were comfortable.
This location and home was perfect for us and we enjoyed the beautiful interior when not outside riding bikes and exploring the local countryside. Brady was an excellent host and very responsive to our questions and we so enjoyed hearing about the history of the house and all the special architectural details which he added. We were so sad to leave and hope to return soon.
Really cool, interesting, beautiful historic home in the mountains!!
Loved our weekend at Fleetwood, especially the bonfire and Adirondacks!
The location is great, being near lots of cool hikes and parks and great breweries. Felt like everywhere we went was dog friendly, including Fleetwood.
The home is stunning, breathtaking! What a place to relax and chill. The a/c works great too! This is a sweet home and in a great area for site seeing, vineyards, breweries, hiking, mountains and relaxation!

Fantastic guest. Highly recommend to all future hosts.
We have a student in Lynchburg VA and thought this was the perfect location to relax and unwind while still being close enough to visit our student. Bonus that we could bring our dog .
We were blessed with fantastic weather and took full advantage of the deck.
The owners provided fantastic recommendations for food and entertainment.
This property worked great for our weekend in Virginia to attend college graduation at Liberty. It was a nice and peaceful about 30 minutes from Lynchburg.
Brady was great to deal with and responded very fast.
There was a lot of history to read about regarding the property as well which we enjoyed.
Definitely would recomend staying if you in the area.
What a wonderful house and a beautiful piece of property. House is full of antiques, rustic furnishings, and old creaky hardwood floors. The owner’s have ensured it is well stocked with everything you need. Close to the Blue Ridge Parkway, wineries, and many other attractions. We highly recommend it for adults looking to experience a mountain getaway!!
No wi-fi as advertised, high “cleaning fee” separate from rental price
Very cute, love the location & history

The property does have WiFi, and I understand there was some technical issue with the service provider during your stay that was beyond our control. This is not normal. The cleaning fee is commensurate with other cleaning fees for similar rentals, especially those that allow pets.
Property as described and a wonderful location for visiting all the sights in Afton Valley. New Year’s day hike, a visit to Bold Rock Silverback, Charlottesville and Devil’s Backbone were lots of fun! Highly recommend. Hosts were helpful and provided lots of historic and local site information. Our stay felt like traveling back in time with modern conveniencs. 😁
Beautiful, Peaceful Home with Unforgettable Mountain Views
Fleetwood is a handsome home with high ceilings, large rooms, original wide plank wood floors and many fine details. Its original beauty and character are well preserved in the recent renovation. Our favorite aspect, and where we spent most of our time, was the large back deck with views of Three Ridges Mountain. The location is quiet, peaceful and private. It is close to the AT, Crabtree Falls, the Blueridge Parkway and more. The hosts were helpful, available, respectful and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and easy. We look forward to returning.
Beautiful rustic retreat house near Arrington, VA. Remodeled kitchen and bath, but the rest of the house keeps the old original feel. Creaking old wood floors means no one will sneak in or out at night! Completely secluded for great privacy. nice outside deck I wasn't able to enjoy as I was there for work. You might have the occasional bug to deal with as it isn't a modern sealed construction, but otherwise clean and very comfortable. I'll go back if available for next year's event!
I did not want to write a bad review but I sent the following message to the host 48 hours ago and did not receive a response. Fleetwood (c. 1809) - A renovated landmarkHost: BradyBookedView detailsHello, First off the house is unique and I enjoyed the history of it. However, I want to let you know that there is a huge bug problem. On Friday night a stink bug was on my son who sat in the recliner. I didn't think much of it. We were out of the house for most of the day Saturday. After a short while of sitting on the couch last night I had a stink bug crawling on my neck. I then saw two stink bugs on the wall and killed them. A few other insects later appeared on the lamp. I then looked at the window behind the couch and there were multiple of both bug types on the windowsill and on the chair rail. There were also two on the opposite window.Needless to say that was not pleasant and honestly made it difficult to sleep. There were also a few bugs in the kitchen and one even came home in my food bag. I'm hopeful that none hitched a ride in the clothes bags. I'm not sure if you were aware but I'm sure you'll want to correct it prior to renting it again.
Great three day getaway with family. Location is great. Owner provided a fantastic to do list within 45 minutes of the house. Did two hikes and a few breweries. All good.
This home is amazing! The property is beautiful and the views are stunning! Lots to do in the area. Great hosts who communicated well and were very helpful!
It was a peaceful getaway. It is very unique and unusual to be able to stay in a 200 year old historic house. I have seen historical houses that are bed & breakfasts before, so the Fleetwood house is an unique experience.
