• Do you have internet access at any of your home properties? Yes but very limited! Only a few of our home properties have recently been able to receive Internet access. Due to our remote location, and the fact that most of our properties are surrounded by tall Yosemite pine and cedar trees, it makes it almost impossible to receive clear satellite signals, cable isn’t available yet in our community. The system we currently have is a satellite based Internet system, and is vulnerable to adverse weather conditions, therefore we cannot guarantee Internet connectivity during your stay.

Cabin experience overshadowed by bad bed

  • 3 of 5

KIng size bed has two large depressions each the width of a person running the length of either side of the bed with a ridge in between. We hiked the ridges and valleys of Yosemite by day and anticipated rejuvenating our bodies by sleeping well at night. This was not to be so as the bed mimicked our hikes. You could choose to sleep in one of the valleys of the bed. If you wanted to spread out you had to straddle both the ridge and the valley. If you tried to cuddle your partner you had to lie on your side on the center ridge and hold perfectly still so you didn't fall back into the depression or valley.. I understand that one might use an old bed at a family cabin, but a bed of poor quality should never be in a rental home. The two queen size beds are of good quality and guests reported sleeping well in them.

Side bar: internet service is unreliable we probably had good coverage for a total of 20 minutes cumulative over the course of five days. Don't plan to work in this cabin if your work is internet dependent.

The positive aspects of the cabin become irrelevant to report on when the basic function of providing a good nights rest cannot be fulfilled . I stay at Home away or VRbo locations frequently and poor beds are not unheard of but they are not the norm.. The bed and internet are the only issues that make me give this rental 3 stars.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your recent stay. Unfortunately, in our area there is no tower, none of the major companies have provided a tower for us in Yosemite, due to the elevation, weather & trees. The only type of wifi we're able to get is satellite base wifi, which is not reliable, it's slow, mostly for checking your emails. But it's the only kind Yosemite park can get. Being in the park is a great location, but the downside is lack of internet. I'm sorry to hear the king bed was uncomfortable. I just ordered a new king size bed. Thank you so much for letting us know. We want all our guests to have a good nights rest!

Beautiful home, Great location

This home fit our group of 6 perfectly. We enjoyed the cozy furniture and the beautiful front deck. The proximity to Yosemite, especially to Glacier Point, was the icing on the cake!

Fantastic and Comfortable Stay

  • 5 of 5

We had some guests visiting from Finland and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the stay at Strawberry Creek during our quick stay in Yosemite. The accommodations were very comfortable and the cabin exceeded expectations for comfort and cleanliness. We did find a small scorpion in one of the beds that provided some excitement in the evening, but be aware that you are in natural area and creatures do find a way in! The location makes it very easy to travel to Glacier Point and into the valley but be aware that there are no convenient grocery stores nearby so plan ahead if you are planning meals at the cabin. The kitchen and outdoor grill are fully stocked had everything we needed. I would highly recommend this unit and we will definitely return in the future.

Beautiful, updated, and well-located property in Yosemite West. Only a 25 min drive to Valley.

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Strawberry Creek which is a perfect, secluded getaway that trumps the crowded and outdated accommodations in the Valley. You can't go wrong staying here.

Best vacation home rental ever.

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed in many vacation home rentals and a lot of them have been very nice. But this home was on a different level than any before. All of the functional aspects of a rental home were truly exceptional. The kitchen had everything you could need. All dishes, utensils, cups and pots and pans were dishwasher safe and fit in the dishwasher efficiently. The dishwasher was configured in such a way that even large cutting boards and cookie sheets fit in, making clean up a breeze. The bathrooms had excellent and plentiful towels. The bedrooms all had great beds and bedding. The house is immaculately maintained and the decor is outstanding. The only "issue" we had was that one of the 3 burners of the grill was not operating properly. But the property manager had a repair person there within an hour of notifying them.

Day hikes range from flat walks to robust climbs, with distances from the valley of under one mile (to Bridalveil Fall, easy) up to 17 miles (to Half-Dome, very strenuous). Visitors will see waterfalls, especially strong in the spring, glacial ravines, panoramic views, forests and meadows.

You can also hike above the valley floor south in Wawona, where you will see covered bridges, open pine forest, and the Giant Sequoias Grove. Shuttle bus service is available for tired trekkers to return to Wawona from the Grove. From the nortern part of the park, you can visit Soda Springs, Cathedral Lakes and follow the John Muir Trail. Longer hikes lead to Tioga Pass and the High Sierra Camp.
