Private Cabin Hideaway On 1 Acre; 5 Minutes From Downtown Prescott

Bedrooms Studio
Space 550 sq. ft.
Property type cabin
Minimum Stay 2 - 3 nights

About the property

Quiet Studio On 1 Acre With Loft; Sleeps 4; Five Minutes To Downtown

Perfect Retreat For A Couple Or Family

Copper Basin Hideaway is located just five minutes from the Historic Prescott Downtown Square where most of Prescott’s “hometown” events happen: street fairs, live theatre, shops, dancing at one of the many “saloons,” antiques, restaurants, museums and more.

As you leave the square towards the cabin, you ascend an additional 700 ft. into the tall 80 ft. Ponderosa Pines and Oak trees to a quiet, peaceful hideaway. The cabin sits on 1 acre off a private street with only three other homes. If you like a peaceful environment, this is the place for you -- if you listen, you can enjoy the sounds of many kinds of Southwestern birds, and you might even catch a glimpse of deer, javalina, squirrels or rabbits.

This classic A-frame cabin was built in 1989 and restored in 2004. The back deck stretches the length of the cabin offering a retreat for reading, enjoying the views and natural spring, or grilling out for an evening at home. Inside, enjoy games with the family, or watch a cable TV program or watch a DVD. Redbox is located in the Safeway store just 4 minutes away.

This unique cabin is also .5 miles from the Prescott National Forest where there is a web of trails for both hiking and mountain biking. You can ride or walk right from the cabin, or drive to several places up the mountain designated for parking. Just bring your bike or hiking shoes and we’ll provide the maps!

Prescott also hosts many annual events. Just a few include: Whiskey Row Off-Road Mountain Bike Race (April); Whisky Row Marathon and Highland Games (May); Frontier Days, the Prescott Rodeo, 4th of July celebration/parade, Indian Art Market (June/July); Prescott Film Festival and Cowboy Poets Gathering at Sharlot Hall (August); Acker Music Festival and Christmas Courthouse Lighting/Parade (December). Other activities include: canoeing/kayaking and fishing at Goldwater and Watson lakes, museums, live theatre, restaurants, craft/art shows, and much, much more.

Copper Basin Hideaway is perfect for one couple or a family of four. This studio cabin has a comfortable hide-a-bed (with memory-foam cushion) and two small rooms in the loft, each with a twin sized bed. The main area of the loft has two cozy bean-bag chairs which make a nice retreat for reading or for the kids to play some games. The kitchen is fully equipped with dishes and other utensils, as well as a refrigerator, stove, microwave and toaster oven. The propane grill is ready for use and the window off the kitchen has a “pass-through” screen for easy grilling preparation. The cabin also has a wood stove where you can enjoy a cozy atmosphere in the winter months ... we even provide the Firelogs from December through March!

Please contact us with any questions. We hope you enjoy your stay at Copper Basin Hideaway!

About Janet Conrad

We fell in love with Prescott and moved here 13 years ago. After enjoying the wonderful activities, historical sites and outdoor adventure, we decided to purchase this cabin for others to enjoy.

Janet Conrad purchased this cabin in 2014

Why Janet Conrad chose Capital Territory & High Country

Unlike many of the rentals in the Prescott area, this cabin is set in a very quiet, private section of town, with the unique bonus of being only 5 minutes from the activities on Whisky Row - Historic Downtown Prescott. You will feel like you're in the middle of the forest, but with easy access and paved/maintained roads - it's a true Cabin Hideaway!

What makes this cabin unique

Large deck with grill for enjoying the mountain air; Inside fireplace/stove for crisp winter nights; Access to the Prescott Hike/Mountain Bike trail system; Five minutes to the Prescott National Forest.

Bright cabin in peaceful location

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for a week in March while waiting for our lease to open up. This is a cozy and comfortable cabin in beautiful pines of Prescott. Enough dishes to cook a meal and space for 4 of us to sleep. Kids loved the spacious loft and spacious porch. We saw tons of deer, squirrels, birds, a hawk and javelinas, when washing dishes in the kitchen you feel like in a tree house with squirrels running next to you. Great trails of Aspen Creek just up the road. Kids made mud pies in the creek on property and loved to run around the cabin. The breeze in the pines felt wonderful at 70F. Wifi worked well and plenty of towels. So close to all Prescott attractions. I would recommend this to any nature lover!!

Great location; wildlife outside cabin but still close to town; small but cozy and functional

  • 5 of 5

What a difference a few blocks make; just up the hill from cookie cutter groomed housing developments is a cozy one of a kind cabin in the ponderosa forest. Neighbors are quiet and almost out of sight, since the lots are almost an acre here. In the morning, grab some coffee, and walk out of the cabin past the water tower for quick access to nature without having to get in the car. Be sure to buy a six pack of firelogs at Safeway if you're here during cool weather; one log in the wood stove (with the stove doors closed) will keep you warm for hours. The TV/DVD player takes a little practice to figure out, but you'll get the hang of it after a few tries.

Peaceful, Tiny Cabin in the Pines

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay at the cabin over the Whiskey Off-road weekend! The cabin is cozy, peaceful, spotlessly clean, and provides all the amenities of home. The cabin is very small, as noted in the description, but comfortable for 2 adults and 2 adult-sized teens. The cabin has a full-sized bathroom and full-sized kitchen, with everything needed for a comfortable stay--from plenty of towels to a coffee-maker and filters. The pull-out sofa bed is surprisingly comfortable! The upstairs rooms are quite small, the boys had to crawl into their bedrooms as they are both over 6 feet tall, but they loved the cozy hideaway. The deck is lovely, overlooking the creek and whispering pines. We enjoyed a nice barbecue, and a walk around the area. We saw a handsome coyote loping through the property and bright woodpeckers. The cabin is in a very convenient location to town and the forest.

Fun place

Loved the property and surroundings. Pull out couch was questionable at first, but next thing I knew I was waking up in the same position that I fell asleep! Met by deer in the morning outside before a nice hike around Goldwater lake. Thank you for the experience!

Outstanding in every way!!

  • 5 of 5

My husband, son, and I stayed for a week to enjoy some mountain biking in Prescott. The setting was perfect. The size of the cabin was cozy yet just enough room not to feel cramped.

Very clean, well cared for.

Close to downtown, restaurants.

We will stay again!!
