Private Cabin Hideaway On 1 Acre; 5 Minutes From Downtown Prescott

Bedrooms Studio
Space 550 sq. ft.
Property type cabin
Minimum Stay 1 - 3 nights

About the property

Quiet Cabin On 1 Acre With Loft; Sleeps 4; Five Minutes To Downtown

Perfect Retreat For A Couple Or Family

Copper Basin Hideaway is located just five minutes from the Historic Prescott Downtown Square where most of Prescott’s “hometown” events happen: street fairs, live theatre, shops, dancing at one of the many “saloons,” antiques, restaurants, museums and more.

As you leave the square towards the cabin, you ascend an additional 700 ft. into the tall 80 ft. Ponderosa Pines and Oak trees to a quiet, peaceful hideaway. The cabin sits on 1 acre off a private street with only three other homes. If you like a peaceful environment, this is the place for you -- if you listen, you can enjoy the sounds of many kinds of Southwestern birds, and you might even catch a glimpse of deer, javalina, squirrels or rabbits.

This classic A-frame cabin was built in 1989 and restored in 2004. The back deck stretches the length of the cabin offering a retreat for reading, enjoying the views and natural spring, or grilling out for an evening at home. Inside, enjoy games with the family, or watch a cable TV program or watch a DVD. Redbox is located in the Safeway store just 4 minutes away.

This unique cabin is also .5 miles from the Prescott National Forest where there is a web of trails for both hiking and mountain biking. You can ride or walk right from the cabin, or drive to several places up the mountain designated for parking. Just bring your bike or hiking shoes and we’ll provide the maps!

Prescott also hosts many annual events. Just a few include: Whiskey Row Off-Road Mountain Bike Race (April); Whisky Row Marathon and Highland Games (May); Frontier Days, the Prescott Rodeo, 4th of July celebration/parade, Indian Art Market (June/July); Prescott Film Festival and Cowboy Poets Gathering at Sharlot Hall (August); Acker Music Festival and Christmas Courthouse Lighting/Parade (December). Other activities include: canoeing/kayaking and fishing at Goldwater and Watson lakes, museums, live theatre, restaurants, craft/art shows, and much, much more.

Copper Basin Hideaway is perfect for one couple or a family of four. This studio cabin has a comfortable hide-a-bed (with memory-foam cushion) and two small rooms in the loft, each with a twin sized bed. The main area of the loft has two cozy bean-bag chairs which make a nice retreat for reading or for the kids to play some games. The kitchen is fully equipped with dishes and other utensils, as well as a refrigerator, stove, microwave and toaster oven. The propane grill is ready for use and the window off the kitchen has a “pass-through” screen for easy grilling preparation. The cabin also has a wood stove where you can enjoy a cozy atmosphere in the winter months ... we even provide the Firelogs from December through March!

Please contact us with any questions. We hope you enjoy your stay at Copper Basin Hideaway!

About Janet Conrad

We fell in love with Prescott and moved here 13 years ago. After enjoying the wonderful activities, historical sites and outdoor adventure, we decided to purchase this cabin for others to enjoy.

Janet Conrad purchased this cabin in 2014

Why Janet Conrad chose Prescott

Unlike many of the rentals in the Prescott area that are surrounded by other homes, this cabin is set in a very quiet, private section of town on 1 acre, with the unique bonus of being only 5 minutes from the activities on Whisky Row - Historic Downtown Prescott. You will feel like you're in the middle of the forest, but with easy access and paved/maintained roads - it's a true Cabin Hideaway!

What makes this cabin unique

Large deck with grill for enjoying the mountain air; Inside fireplace/stove for crisp winter nights; Access to the Prescott Hike/Mountain Bike trail system; Five minutes to the Prescott National Forest.

Bright cabin in peaceful location

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for a week in March while waiting for our lease to open up. This is a cozy and comfortable cabin in beautiful pines of Prescott. Enough dishes to cook a meal and space for 4 of us to sleep. Kids loved the spacious loft and spacious porch. We saw tons of deer, squirrels, birds, a hawk and javelinas, when washing dishes in the kitchen you feel like in a tree house with squirrels running next to you. Great trails of Aspen Creek just up the road. Kids made mud pies in the creek on property and loved to run around the cabin. The breeze in the pines felt wonderful at 70F. Wifi worked well and plenty of towels. So close to all Prescott attractions. I would recommend this to any nature lover!!

Valentine's Getaway

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I wanted to get away from our California city to a historic town. This cabin provided all we needed for this getaway! We enjoyed the beautiful location and the creek in the back, as well as being close to some really good hiking provided by Thumb Butte and Watson Lake.

At night we went to Whiskey Row and had some excellent food and drink, and just really enjoyed the history behind this little town.

Of note, the Prickly Pear Margaritas at El Gato Azul are soooo yummy!!!

I would highly recommend this cabin if you want to be close to nature but be in close proximity to some great places to eat and drink!!!

This cabin is so warm and cozy, comfortable and perfect for a quiet respite. Thank you to Janet for sharing it with us and quickly responding to our questions!

Perfect little cabin!

  • 5 of 5

My friends and I had a great weekend getaway here! The cabin had a great view from the balcony and the kitchen window, it was the perfect size for 4 people. We saw havelina the first hour we were there and saw deer multiple times on the property. We were lucky enough to find a little snow while adventuring into the woods. The weather was beautiful and it’s a perfect place to go when you want to get out of town! I really recommend staying here, we will definitely be back!

Weekend away

  • 5 of 5

My boyfriend and I came to Prescott with our two dogs for the weekend. The cabin was clean and welcoming, and it was fantastic to have access to the trails and town nearby. We enjoyed spending time on the beautiful deck in the sunshine. The setting was super peaceful and convenient.

Janet was a great host with very clear instructions/communication both before and after our visit. She was also accommodating of our dogs, which was much appreciated! I'd highly recommend the cabin for anyone looking in the area. Thanks, Janet!

Quiet seclusion while close to varied adventures!

  • 5 of 5

Just my wife and I enjoyed the quiet comfortable cabin in the seclusion of the pine and oak trees near the edge of Prescott National Forest. We wanted to enjoy a quiet place yet not too far from some of the night life that the City of Prescott provides. We enjoyed the Christmas lighting of the Prescott Court House and strolled the sidewalks along the famed "Whiskey Row"! We visited some of the local restaurants for a different flavor experience and found some spots we really enjoyed. Each evening we returned to our cozy cabin, and enjoyed the cracking fire in the cast iron stove. The small but comfortable efficient cabin provided us with the quiet privacy so often missed when traveling to other places. The temperatures ranged in the low 30's outside but we were warm and cozy inside this mountain cabin nestled within the pine and oak trees. Great place to get away to some place quiet but close to enjoying the trails, lake waters, shopping, movies walking along the store fronts and enjoying the scenery.
