About the property

Quiet Studio On 1 Acre With Loft; Sleeps 4; Five Minutes To Downtown

Perfect Retreat For A Couple Or Family

Copper Basin Hideaway is located just five minutes from the Historic Prescott Downtown Square where most of Prescott’s “hometown” events happen: street fairs, live theatre, shops, dancing at one of the many “saloons,” antiques, restaurants, museums and more.

As you leave the square towards the cabin, you ascend an additional 700 ft. into the tall 80 ft. Ponderosa Pines and Oak trees to a quiet, peaceful hideaway. The cabin sits on 1 acre off a private street with only three other homes. If you like a peaceful environment, this is the place for you -- if you listen, you can enjoy the sounds of many kinds of Southwestern birds, and you might even catch a glimpse of deer, javalina, squirrels or rabbits.

This classic A-frame cabin was built in 1989 and restored in 2004. The back deck stretches the length of the cabin offering a retreat for reading, enjoying the views and natural spring, or grilling out for an evening at home. Inside, enjoy games with the family, or watch a cable TV program or watch a DVD. Redbox is located in the Safeway store just 4 minutes away.

This unique cabin is also .5 miles from the Prescott National Forest where there is a web of trails for both hiking and mountain biking. You can ride or walk right from the cabin, or drive to several places up the mountain designated for parking. Just bring your bike or hiking shoes and we’ll provide the maps!

Prescott also hosts many annual events. Just a few include: Whiskey Row Off-Road Mountain Bike Race (April); Whisky Row Marathon and Highland Games (May); Frontier Days, the Prescott Rodeo, 4th of July celebration/parade, Indian Art Market (June/July); Prescott Film Festival and Cowboy Poets Gathering at Sharlot Hall (August); Acker Music Festival and Christmas Courthouse Lighting/Parade (December). Other activities include: canoeing/kayaking and fishing at Goldwater and Watson lakes, museums, live theatre, restaurants, craft/art shows, and much, much more.

Copper Basin Hideaway is perfect for one couple or a family of four. This studio cabin has a comfortable hide-a-bed (with memory-foam cushion) and two small rooms in the loft, each with a twin sized bed. The main area of the loft has two cozy bean-bag chairs which make a nice retreat for reading or for the kids to play some games. The kitchen is fully equipped with dishes and other utensils, as well as a refrigerator, stove, microwave and toaster oven. The propane grill is ready for use and the window off the kitchen has a “pass-through” screen for easy grilling preparation. The cabin also has a wood stove where you can enjoy a cozy atmosphere in the winter months ... we even provide the Firelogs from December through March!

Please contact us with any questions. We hope you enjoy your stay at Copper Basin Hideaway!

About Janet Conrad

We fell in love with Prescott and moved here 13 years ago. After enjoying the wonderful activities, historical sites and outdoor adventure, we decided to purchase this cabin for others to enjoy.

Janet Conrad purchased this cabin in 2014

Why Janet Conrad chose Capital Territory & High Country

Unlike many of the rentals in the Prescott area, this cabin is set in a very quiet, private section of town on 1 acre, with the unique bonus of being only 5 minutes from the activities on Whisky Row - Historic Downtown Prescott. You will feel like you're in the middle of the forest, but with easy access and paved/maintained roads - it's a true Cabin Hideaway!

What makes this cabin unique

Large deck with grill for enjoying the mountain air; Inside fireplace/stove for crisp winter nights; Access to the Prescott Hike/Mountain Bike trail system; Five minutes to the Prescott National Forest.

Bright cabin in peaceful location

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for a week in March while waiting for our lease to open up. This is a cozy and comfortable cabin in beautiful pines of Prescott. Enough dishes to cook a meal and space for 4 of us to sleep. Kids loved the spacious loft and spacious porch. We saw tons of deer, squirrels, birds, a hawk and javelinas, when washing dishes in the kitchen you feel like in a tree house with squirrels running next to you. Great trails of Aspen Creek just up the road. Kids made mud pies in the creek on property and loved to run around the cabin. The breeze in the pines felt wonderful at 70F. Wifi worked well and plenty of towels. So close to all Prescott attractions. I would recommend this to any nature lover!!

INCREDIBLE PLACE and Janet was so nice. We stayed a week getting out of the valley heat and this cabin in the woods was exactly what we needed. Many nice touches, very clean and comfortable. We called it our tree house. Will definitely return to enjoy. Thank you Janet for sharing this space.

Beautiful & clean cabin in the woods

  • 5 of 5

We LOVED our stay! Viewed lots of wildlife off of the back porch and enjoyed our meals outside in the shade of the trees. The cabin is super cute, clean and well stocked with the basics. The owner is very good with communication. Thank you!!! I wish we could have stayed longer!

Would go 4.5 stars if I could

  • 4 of 5

Nice place, location, scenery, deck. Liked SO much about it. When the ad says 500sf, they aren't kidding. If you walk in the door with the expectations conveyed in the listing, there is little disappointment though. It was enough for myself, my wife and two kids. The kids LOVED the loft and beds upstairs. I loved the deck and surroundings and access to town. Unbelievable wildlife around this place. Elk, doe, javelina, birds, and squirrels that sit at your feet. While it does have a cook top, we did miss having an oven a little and the pull out bed was a little rough on my wife and I. But it worked. A good little place. No regrets. If you care about the outdoors, this is the place. If you want to stretch out INdoors with expansive rooms and such, then it isn't. Plain and simple. I can do that at home though. Janet was plenty nice to work with and the price was great for what we got. Again, no regrets.
