The yurt and property was a great place for 2 of us and our dogs to call a cozy home base for a long weekend of hiking and relaxation.
We all -dogs included- enjoyed coffee and breakfast on the sunny deck each morning overlooking the gorgeous Mummy Range and feeling the sense of winding down. The property is far enough away that we got a great feeling of solitude and had completely dark skies for seeing the milky way at night. The yurt is well equipped with simple creature comforts and an easy place to settle in to. All the amenities- lanterns, cooktop, woodstove - were in working order with plenty of backup fuel/ firewood and the kitchen is stocked with enough pots, pans, dishes, etc to make even fairly elaborate meals. As a backpacker used to sleeping on the ground I feel silly writing this, but the only thing we felt was missing at the Yurt was a comfortable couch for reading or relaxing at night - the futons in the pictures have recently been replaced with traditional beds. At arrival, the portolet was ripe with odor from a busy season before our arrival, which led to a gag reaction and was the only unpleasant thing about our stay.
Thank you to our host who ensured we had a comfortable getaway and provided great service in advance of our trip by quickly answering questions. We appreciate the investment you made to secure the property and make a nice and unique retreat available to rent. We would not hesitate for an instant to stay at the yurt again. Hopefully we get the opportunity.
I am a single mom and came up here with my teenage daughter and her friend. The yurt is very far from the paved road, so initially we thought we were going the wrong way. But we stayed on the road and eventually found it. The land is beautiful and the yurt is well equipped. We also visited the Shambala Center, which was incredible. However, It was very hard for us to sleep because of all the animal noises. Also, I couldn't find the chain to be able to use the hammock. The owner was responsive, but I never did get to read in the hammock. The girls had a fun time exploring the property. If I hadn't been the only adult, I may have been able to relax enough to sleep despite the noise. It just wasn't a good fit for us.
One of the most serene experiences we've had. Relaxing, unplugged, and exciting. We were able to enjoy all the things we thought of when planning the trip. Excellent for families with children! Thank you, Caleb! You're a fantastic host. Looking forward to next time. Cheers!
The Yurt was a wonderful place to stay for my family (2 kids, 2 dogs) and friends. We had a lovely time and all needed to relax and unwind in such a beautiful, peaceful setting. It is rustic, but a great way to camp comfortably. Thank you so much, we will definitely be back!
