Upstairs Master Bedroom is big and full of natural light with solar tubes, walk-in closet and direct access to upstairs bathroom. Large, comfortable, king memory foam bed with down comforter.
The Queen Bedroom is bright and welcoming and the comfortable queen bed has a black leather headboard.
The Peacock room has natural earth plaster walls that sparkle with mica when the sunlight hits them. An antique full-sized bed and dresser and brand new, comfortable mattress add to the charm of this room. A heated mattress pad for this bed is available.
Downstairs, the Kid's Room has one small twin bed and a bunkbed with a double futon on the bottom and a twin on top, a television with Bluray player and Netflix. The Kid's Room has been carpeted with low-pile carpet and a soft memory foam carpet padding to enable play.
The downstairs living room has a piano and a wood stove that provides cozy heat to the whole house in the winter (the central furnace works well too, if you prefer). Wood is provided for the first night of stay. The fold-out couch provides an additional sleeping area. There is a large, 47' wall-mounted t.v. and bluray player. There is no cable, but Netflix and Amazon Prime are programmed, and many movies can also be borrowed upon request. There is a newer front-loading washer and dryer located in the downstairs bathroom.
The Family room on the main level is equipped with a couch and chairs, and a small dining table that expands to fit up to eight people comfortable.
The kitchen is situated between the family room and the covered patio to allow access for inside or outside dining. It is fully equipped with both ceramic plates and a full set of melamine dishes and serving sets for both indoor and outdoor gatherings. Our daughter insisted that any vacation rental should have a waffle maker, so, a waffle maker is included. We live close by and are happy to provide additional cooking/serving supplies as available.
The backyard is our favorite part of this house. The previous owners had their own landscaping business, specializing in sustainable garden design and they made their own garden extra special. There is a cob pizza oven with granite detailing, a small pond, beautiful flowers in abundance throughout spring and summer, flagstone walkways and mature trees. The large covered patio provides a wonderful setting for meals and for relaxing in hanging chairs. The patio dining table seats eight comfortably. Pizza oven is considered an open flame and may be off-limits seasonally depending on fire danger. During fire season, the Coconino County website stays updated with local restrictions. There is a propane BBQ grill in the patio area as well, that can be used year-round.
The front yard has a small covered patio where you can relax or watch your housemates play basketball on the driveway. There is also a large blue spruce providing additional covered seating.
Foxglenn Park is within walking distance, providing easy access to outdoor recreation and seasonal festivals (Kite festival, Celtic Festival, etc.) There are soccer fields, softball, a skate park, and playground as well as access to the Flagstaff trail system and a running loop. Several mountain bikes and child trailer are available to guests upon request.
Also within biking distance is the Flagstaff Aquaplex which has a large indoor pool with a children's play area, two large water slides and a small lazy river. The facility also has a full gym and weight room, rock wall, and childcare available. Aquaplex daily rates are very reasonable.
There are two golf courses nearby- Continental Country Club and Aspen Hills. In the winter we can direct you to some great 'secret' sledding spots in our neighborhood.
We are long-time Flagstaff residents and we are ready to help make your stay wonderful. We have an 21-year old daughter and a 8-year old son so we can direct you to a wide range of fun activities available locally, as well as the standard visitor staples of downtown Flagstaff, Snowbowl, Sedona and the Grand Canyon. There are wonderful places to hike and enjoy the outdoors in and around Flagstaff. There is so much to do: Year-round First Friday Artwalks, summer movies on the Square and concerts in the park, Dew Downtown winter festival, Theatrikos, Flagstaff Hullabaloo, bands at the Orpheum, Pride in the Pines, NAU events...
We know a number of reliable college-aged babysitters that we can recommend upon request.

About Elizabeth Markona
Jodon and I both moved to Flagstaff to go to Northern Arizona University and stayed after graduation. Jodon is an Arizona native, and I grew up abroad before settling in this beautiful community over 20 years ago. We love all that Flagstaff has to offer-a small town feel with some bigger-town culture and diversity thanks in part to the university. We love the outdoors-running, hiking, biking and exploring. We have a 6-year-old son and a 19-year-old daughter who is a freshman and lives at Northern Arizona University.
Elizabeth Markona purchased this House in 2014
Why Elizabeth Markona chose Flagstaff
We chose this house because of the proximity to our home and the wonderful garden and outdoor space. We love the neighborhood and like being nearby so we can respond quickly to any unforeseen needs. While we got the place dialed in we stayed here ourselves and loved being able to eat outside on the covered patio, even during monsoon season. Patio heaters help extend the season a little further.
What makes this House unique
One of our favorite features of this home is the outdoor pizza oven. We are happy to show you how it works and help get your pizza party started if we are in town during your stay. Tarragon and other fresh spices are available in the garden and make your pizza extra-delicious. We have had several pizza parties in the few months we've owned the home (it's important to test everything out, right?) The waffle maker makes breakfast delicious, fun and easy. Let us know in advance and we can make sure to have waffle mix available for you. Fox Glenn Park, which is within walking distance, is a regular site for festivals, soccer and softball games. There is a skate park, a playground, a paved running or walking path, and access to the trail system from the back of the park.

Great spot for the family to take a weekend trip! Great owners!
Perfect house to spend a winter vacation! Many amenities and close to Downtown!
Great yard and hot tub
Split level home, nicely decorated. Although chilly in the morning we had breakfast on the deck, and a hot tub in the evening after hiking Grand Canyon
Nicely decorated, clean, and inviting.
We felt "at home" immediately. This home is in a nice, quiet neighborhood and has a beautiful back yard garden. The perfect place to get away and relax. We plan to stay here next time we visit Flagstaff.
The perfect getaway!
Six of us stayed here for a retreat and it was the perfect setup. There was plenty of space for us to brainstorm, but then to also relax in the tranquil backyard. Everything was clean and easy to find. And the neighborhood was fantastic for walking. Would definitely stay here again!
The house is in a very nice neighborhood and the house is very clean. We really enjoyed our stay there for one night . The backyard is like a private, serene jungle with a very nice hot tub that is ready to go . The house is cozy and the kitchen is stocked with all the amenities (except food of course). I will definitely book this house again when I travel back to Flagstaff.
Good home base for Arizona fun
Our stay was very nice. My daughter played the piano for us every night. We were sad that fire restrictions prohibited the outdoor pizza oven, but these things happen. We used this family home as home base for our many day trips to Sedona, the Grand Canyon, and many of the other National Patks and monuments nearby. Elizabeth was very accommodating, bringing us a fan for the warm days.
