Why Lannette Karnes chose Tallmansville

We built this house on family ground. Our grandparents grew up in this little piece of heaven. The cottage has every convenience and comfort. It is fully stocked for your pleasure. Isn't it time to make some memories for your family on the river?

What makes this cottage unique

At a large bend in the Buckhannon River, paradise awaits you. Enjoy morning walks up the railroad tracks, afternoons swimming in the river and evenings around the campfire. You can enjoy the rustic surroundings while having a luxurious home with satellite TV, WiFi and Jacuzzi tub when you are tired of 'roughing' it.

Great place to get away and relax!

  • 5 of 5

This was a great getaway. Butch was a very nice and helpful guy. He was very knowledgeable about the local community. He stopped in after we arrived just to make sure everything was ok. The house was just right; it was clean and in good condition. Relaxing on the porch overlooking the river is just perfect! The whole area is very beautiful. We will most likely come back to this cabin again.

Just what I wanted the house to be!

  • 5 of 5

Rented house for my Dads 80th Birthday and for WVWC homecoming. Great location! Bigger house than expected! Furniture and beds comfortable. Wish table was bigger but we made it work (lots of games played). Quiet with nice neighbors. Butch was sweet, even gave us tomatoes from his plants. Crazy ladybug infestation in neighborhood but so neat at the same time. River great, Dad fished a bit and I put kayak in a couple days and paddled around. Water actually warm enough to jump in! I will tell people about the house and if I’m back in the area I will look to rent again. Thank you for such a lovely place to vacation.

Great place!

  • 5 of 5

Me and my friends enjoyed our entire stay. The house was spacious, clean and very comfortable. Pretty much everything is provided for a comfortable stay. The caretakers, Connie and her husband visited us the first day we got there to make sure that everything was fine. The riverside is amazing, though we weren't able to swim due to the cold weather. We drove all the way from Washington, DC and it was well worth the drive. I would definitely recommend this place for a nice getaway.

Wonderful large house in beautiful area

We comfortably fit our large group for a nearby wedding, and loved the beautiful area. It was our first time in West Virginia! The house was perfect, clean, and well kept up.

Fun filled vacation on the river

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful home away from home right on the river. Spacious house that fit seven adults very comfortably. Enjoyed using the house kayak and fishing in the clear cool water of the Buckhannon river. Definetly recommend to family and friends.
