About Lannette Karnes
We are a family of six who love to travel. Whether staying at our family paradise, Crossings Cottage or touring Ireland we love taking journeys and spending time together.
Lannette Karnes purchased this House in 2004
Why Lannette Karnes chose Tallmansville
We built this house on family ground. Our grandparents grew up in this little piece of heaven. The cottage has every convenience and comfort. It is fully stocked for your pleasure. Isn't it time to make some memories for your family on the river?
What makes this House unique

1 floor mat on each bathroom for towels. Very close neighbor with 4 dogs barking each morning for long periods of time at 7 am. Very stained worn living room leather furniture. Nice kitchen, porches on the river.
I am sorry that you did not enjoy your stay at my vacation home. The linen closet is fully stocked with bath towels, hand towels, wash cloths, and even beach towels. I wish you would have mentioned any issues to either myself or our caretaker so we could have resolved them while you were there.
It was clean, very relaxing.
Butch was very helpful and knowledgeable of what was going on in the area. Neighbors were friendly. Had a family get together there plenty of room. A bar for the toilet in the downstairs bathroom would be helpful for older visitors. Loved the place.

It was nice
It was a very clean house. I would have felt alot more secure if their were curtains or shades on the windows. We seen someone across the river with binoculars. Other than that it was awesome. The neighbors behind the house were awesome as well. Even with the direction, was a bit hard to find. The roads had a lot of pot holes.
The house was clean and welcoming. Everyone was very friendly. We met Butch just after we arrived. He suggested we go to the Wildlife Center, which our daughter loved. Whether it was driving around to different places or enjoying a relaxing afternoon at the house, we had a great time.
Clean, comfortable, great setting!
We really enjoyed our time at this house. No complaints! Hoping to come back when the weather is warmer and we can enjoy the river more!
THIS HOME WAS JUST AS PICTURED...IT WAS CLEAN, HAD BEAUTIFUL VIEWS OF THE RIVER, AND FULLY EQUIPPED WITH EVERYTHING YOU NEED BUT FOOD AND CLOTHES. IT RAINED MOST OF THE WEEKEND BUT THE COVERED PORCH STILL WAS A NICE HANGOUT SINCE THE TEMPERATURE WAS WARMER THAN NORMAL FOR FEBRUARY. WE HAD A NICE VISIT FROM BUTCH WHO GAVE US A FEW POINTERS HOW TO GET TO SOME AMAZING PLACES TO RIDE OUR SIDE X SIDE. I HOPE WE GET THE CHANCE TO COME AGAIN IN THE SUMMER MONTHS WITH OUR GRANDCHILDREN. THEY WOULD LOVE BEING ABLE TO PLAY IN THE RIVER AND MAYBE CATCH A FEW FISH. WE ALSO WENT INTO BUCKHANNON AND ATE AT CJ MAGGIES WHICH WE LOVED. IT BROUGHT BACK ALOT OF MEMORIES WHEN WE SPENT A WEEK DURING THE STRAWBERRY FESTIVAL (OUR DAUGHTER WAS A TEEN QUEEN). WE ALSO ROAD TO HELVETIA AND HOLLY RIVER STATE PARK. IT WAS AN AMAZAING WEEKEND IN THE MOUNTAINS. I EASILY GIVE THIS PLACE 5 STARS BUT I ALSO HATE DOING IT BECAUSE IT IS SO HARD TO RE-BOOK A NICE PLACE ONCE THE WORD GETS OUT HOW NICE IT IS. LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF THE WEEKEND AND SO HAPPY WE FOUND THIS PLACE IN OUR OWN WILD AND WONDERFUL WEST VIRGINIA....IT TRULY WAS ALMOST HEAVEN SITTING ON THAT PORCH AND LOOKING AT THE BEAUTIFULSCENERY.
West Virginia Wildlife Center at French Creek is a short drive and the Swiss Village of Helvetia is about 30 minutes away and The Hutte Restaurant is world famous for its Sunday brunch. Audra State Park is a short drive as well.
