We are a family of six who love to travel. Whether staying at our family paradise, Crossings Cottage or touring Ireland we love taking journeys and spending time together.

Lannette Karnes purchased this cottage in 2004

Why Lannette Karnes chose West Virginia

We built this house on family ground. Our grandparents grew up in this little piece of heaven. The cottage has every convenience and comfort. It is fully stocked for your pleasure. Isn't it time to make some memories for your family on the river?

What makes this cottage unique

At a large bend in the Buckhannon River, paradise awaits you. Enjoy morning walks up the railroad tracks, afternoons swimming in the river and evenings around the campfire. You can enjoy the rustic surroundings while having a luxurious home with satellite TV, WiFi and Jacuzzi tub when you are tired of 'roughing' it.

Fun filled vacation on the river

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful home away from home right on the river. Spacious house that fit seven adults very comfortably. Enjoyed using the house kayak and fishing in the clear cool water of the Buckhannon river. Definetly recommend to family and friends.

River Cottage

My family had a great 2 night stay at this River house. We brought ATV's and had fun riding the trails around the house. My boys also had a great time playing in the river and riding the canoe. Wonderful relaxing trip!

Beautiful, relaxing, refreshing!

  • 5 of 5

My daughter and her four children (ages 4-15) and i spent three delightful days at the River cottage! During the day the kids explored, swam and paddled around the river and in the evenings we played table games. The home was accommodating and clean and the beds comfortable. The kitchen well stocked. The caretaker was helpful and shared local fun things to experience. The kids LOVED the canoe, and water toys. We walked up the rail road tracks and picnicked upstream by the river. We roasted hot dogs and s'mores around the fire pit. We just wished we could have stayed longer. Everyone wants to go back! Thank you for sharing your lovely home!

Absolutely Beautiful!

  • 5 of 5

God has blessed you with an amazing home. The scenery is lovely and the neighbors are nice. WiFi does not work, that's a good thing in this house!

Tip: Bring a paper map and be prepared to use it. Our GPS could not find the place and we got lost a few times.

Absolutely Beautiful!!

  • 4 of 5

Our stay at the cottage was awesome! The only drawback was the lack of cell service in the area but at the same time it was nice to get away from it for a while. The house had everything we needed and while we were there we were lucky enough to experience both spring and winter like weather. The first day the weather was beautiful and we were able to spend the day outside. The next day we woke up and it was snowing quite heavily. I would certainly recommend this place for anyone who wants to get away for a little while and still feel like they are at home.
