The Hummingbird's Nest - the best nest in the Northwest!
Not only a special treat for you, but also a special treat for the birds. A portion of the proceeds from your rental will go to feed and care for the nearly 20-something Hummingbirds that reside on the property. This requires year-round care for our feathered friends. They thank you from the bottom of their sweet little beaks! <3
PRIVATE, QUIET AND LUXURIOUS
Private, separate 1 bedroom, 1.5 bath apartment (upstairs over storage garage) provides all of the comforts of home. Located on 2 acres of homeowner's estate (owners live in separate house next door), this spacious 920 sq foot apartment perches high above the Snohomish valley overlooking the Cascade Mountain range and the Snohomish River.
WHEN TO COME:
Anytime is a great time to visit Snohomish!
*Spring: The tulips and daffodils are popping up, the trees are budding, the air is crisp and clean and the frogs are croaking their little heads off! Temperatures are generally in the 40's and 50's during the day, and sometimes into the 60's!
*Summer: It's usually not too hot in Snohomish in the summertime, but just right. Temperatures are typically in the 70's and 80's with those longggg northern days and beautiful star-filled nights. And the cottage is AIR CONDITIONED just in case we have those warm days :-)
*Fall: My favorite time of year here! The trees are showing off, the air is crisp, the migrating Trumpeter Swans are here having their babies, Bald Eagles circle overhead, and the valley is full of corn farms and pumpkin patches!
*Winter: This area doesn't typically get snow, but we can have some freezing temperatures and occasional snow. The Cascade mountains to the East seem to pop in the morning as the sun rises and the stars shine brightly on the clear cold nights. If you are not used to driving in ice and snow, we must caution you that if we have that sort of weather, our driveway is long and steep so you may want to rent a 4-wheel drive, or come in another season.

We've lived in the Snohomish area since 1989 and have loved every minute of it. It's close to Seattle, Canada, the San Juan Islands and yet in the country away from it all.
What makes this Cottage unique
The lush 2 acres with fruit trees, eagles, hummingbird's aplenty, occasional deer, frogs croaking and many birds allows travelers to reconnect with nature.

Quiet, private, safe Close to wine,City or Islands
We loved the Humming Bird's Nest! It is like a cozy model home and so comfortable...the bed is great and furnishings and kitchen are lovely and new. The views of the surrounding mountains and light filled rooms makes it hard to leave. There is everything you need here for a long stay.
Amazing Hideaway in the Country
This place is a great little cottage in the country. The perfect hide-a-way off the beaten path. It is nicely decorated and has all of the amenities could you want, including a great well stocked kitchen. And it has a wonderful view of the valley and mountains. I would definitely stay here again.
Clean, comfortable, peaceful, and quiet!
We greatly appreciated being able to stay at the Hummingbirds Nest during our recent trip to Washington. The owners were quickly responsive to our questions / needs. The accommodations are wonderful, with a full-size kitchen, excellent cookware, plenty of hot water, VERY comfortable bed, delightful interior design / decor, and everything necessary provided. Additionally, the owners had chocolate and delicious apple juice set out for our enjoyment. We hope to stay there again on future trips to that area. It had the wonderful charm of being in the country, yet it was close enough to the places we needed to go. Thank you, Laura and John!
Clean, comfortable, cozy, well appointed
Hosts were easy to work with. Place was well equipped with anything you might need for a little cottage stay in the lush Washington forest. Pastoral views when it wasn’t raining. Easy parking. Very peaceful. Very comfortable overall. Would definitely stay again or recommend.
Great space. Lovely view.

Quiet, Cozy, Clean
Loved this place! Quiet area (outside noise was non-existent), very clean, comfy furnishings and bed. Having a full kitchen was so nice to have. Only complaint was we couldn't stay longer.
