Love This Place For Low Key Relaxation

  • 5 of 5

Our second year staying here for the July 4th holidays and loved it again. Nice peekaboo views of the river while sitting on the porch reading a book. Follow the handrail in front of the porch a few yards and you'll see stunning views of the crystal clear river below. For a July visit, the central A/C is excellent as are the ceiling fans. We went to Front Royal Canoe less than 3 miles away for a few hours of paddling down the river. They also have tubing. All rooms in the cabin are fairly large. We joked we could retire in this place. Never used the kitchen for cooking but used the outdoor stone fire pit to grill food every day. Wood was provided but we just had fun gathering wood around the property. You can walk your way down to the river's edge, but it's not a focus of this cabin. Not ideal for wading into the water or fishing. Dense with plants on the river's edge. But, just google, tons of nearby places for adventure. The cabin has everything you need. Spacious living room, big fireplace, big kitchen, huge tv, etc. But we really only sat in the large porch, chilling. There are 2 other cabins on this property but you cannot see or hear them. Booking was very easy as was comunication with the property manager. From start to finish, he always was quick to respond to questions. We'll be back!

Rustic Moutain Log Cabin de#611023

  • 1 of 5

Our over all was not a pleasant one. Was not happy with the cabin over all cleanliness. There was fruit flies in the cabin that got in your food and drink. There were bee's at the back door and real bad at night. Should have mentioned the train. The train in the day time is not the problem it's the 2:00 - 3:00 am that wakes you up. So much for getting out of the city. Have not received my security deposit back yet, had no problem charging my credit card in a timely manner. Don't know how anyone could use the picnic table outside, you need a new one or not one at all a real hazard . You really need to update your pictures and there is no river view.

Very nice cabin

  • 4 of 5

The cabin is in a great location and everything was as advertised. It is at the end of a private road and has nice views of the forest and river. It is an easy ride up the road to Front Royal. The building is rustic, but clean. Some of the furnishings/carpet are worn out, but otherwise the property was well maintained. The owner was responsive and made sure we had what we needed. I would definitely go back.

Rustic Cabin

  • 5 of 5

Loved the view and layout as well as the rusticness of the cabin. The only change would be to possibly cut some trees as to better see the river.

Beautiful location, quaint cabin, great weekend!

  • 4 of 5

My family and I enjoyed a great weekend at the cabin. The location is perfect for hiking in Shenandoah national park, touring local wineries (shout out to Rappahannock Cellars) or just relaxing fireside and watching the river.

Thanks John!

Excellent!

  • 4 of 5

This little cabin is great - all you need for a cozy weekend getaway. Solidly built, traditional wood feel - not slick and shiny. You really feel like you're back in time and back in the woods with this cabin and its great location. The view over the river is really nice, and being away from the road makes it really quiet - the only thing we heard was the occasional train going by. Very comfortable and peaceful here, and we can't wait to go back. Everything was clean, working, and adequately maintained; no critters and nothing confusing about how it worked or what to do. Simple and stress-free.
