Really loved all the space inside and outside. Enjoyed reading (and photos) about how that homestead came to be. The grounds were well maintained and a peaceful place to hang out. Beds were comfortable and the showers weee nice. Everything you could need for your stay is provided. Hope to stay in your beautiful home in the future!
Amazing house, with a lot of character. I love all of the different rooms and sitting areas. The back porch is the perfect place to enjoy the beautiful array of flowers and trees. The wildlife is enjoyable to watch, especially the charismatic cows coming down from the fields to drink the water.
We enjoyed this peaceful, spacious country setting very much. The house has maintained its historic character, but with the added luxury of great kitchen appliances and bathroom fixtures. The acreage surrounding the house includes well maintained gardens and fruit trees. Access to town is only 5 or 10 minutes away. There are porches where you can eat outside or relax and watch a small herd of cows graze in the nearby pasture. There is a huge dining room table for group dinners, games, or jigsaw puzzles. Information is provided on many parks and beaches in the area. Those are easy to get to and not crowded. Check-in and check-out are a breeze. Really charming and comfortable!
Had to get out of your house for 6 nights for wood floors to be installed. This house was only a mile from our home. It was great. I will recommend to others. Three full bathrooms made it great. Great kitchen. Good value.
Beautiful farm home and yard. Took care of grand babies for a few days here and created magical memories. The fenced yard and beautiful garden was a highlight. Highly recommend.
We had a wonderful stay over the Christmas holiday at Pioneer House. It's a beautifully restored farmhouse with loads of character. Very nicely decorated with room for everyone. Even a decorated Christmas tree and wall wreath was provided. It was perfect!
We had a group of 5 adults who were in the area for a family wedding. Pioneer house was perfect as it had enough room for us to spread out and it also had areas where we could all gather and tell stories. The house was similar to one I lived in when I was growing up so that was nostalgic!
The grounds were amazing and so fu to explore. If we are ever in the area again, I would love to visit The Pioneer House again.
We are a group of women who have been friends since 1988. One of the group lives in the area and her son graduated high school so we came from Arkansas and Arizona to celebrate. The house could not have been more perfect. The grounds were beautiful and the neighbor cows were a delight to watch. We really didn't need to leave the house but we were rewarded with seeing over 40 eagles when we went to Camano Island. Truly a wonderful and refreshing 4 day stay. Kudos to the owner/property manager for a wonderful experience.
This is a beautifully restored old house with all modern amenities and which is immaculately maintained. It is in a great rural setting which is just a short drive our of town. Our group of 6 adults and a small dog thoroughly enjoyed our stay. There was lots of delicious ripe apples, pears and plums on the trees in the garden, and we enjoyed feeding the fruit that had dropped onto the ground to the very friendly cows and calves in the field beside the house. The house is conveniently located to explore the nearby islands as well as the Mount Baker area. Would definitely stay here again.
Location of the property provides amazing privacy. It's an older home which adds to its charm. There are several fruit trees on the property and the kids loved feeding apples to the cows on the adjacent property. We absolutely enjoyed our stay there. It's a shame we couldn't fully enjoy our week stay at the end of August because it rained the last four days of our stay. We will definitely stay there again if given the opportunity. The only recommendation I can give to the owner is to put up a reflector marker at the entrance of the driveway. It's a little difficult to find at night.
We loved staying at Pioneer house. Large home with lots of room for our group. The bathrooms are huge! Fully stocked kitchen. We ate apples and plums off of the fruit trees. It was just minutes from the grocery store and restaurants.
The only drawback was the train tracks nearby. It was really warm the 1st night and we needed windows open to sleep. The train horns woke us up in the night. Also, while the location is very private my 9 year old grandaughter was really uncomfortable with no window coverings on all the windows. We would stay here again if the opportunity arose.

Simply Wonderful!!!!
I could not find any Camano Island properties to rent for the week I needed to be in that vicinity, and skeptically booked this Stanwood farmhouse. I am so glad I did! Everything about this property was superb. The location is far more convenient than Camano - and at least as nice as any VRBO I've rented on the island. The house provided an excellent venue for spending time with my relatives and friends in the area, including a well designed kitchen, lots of outdoor space with amazing flower beds, an orchard and private outside porch with a lovely view.
The house itself has been restored beautifully and easily accommodated our unplanned for guests! The grounds provide plenty of privacy and quiet.
I had the privilege of meeting the owner, who was very nice. I must also mention the property manager who was extremely helpful in extending my stay and was also very responsive when I had any questions. I will be back!!!!!
We stayed here for three nights of crabbing off of Camano Island. It was such a charming place to hang out with our kids and dogs. And very nice to have a relatively well-appointed kitchen in a rental. The cows next door were sweet too. The property manager was very quick to respond to any questions. I appreciated the owners taste and them sharing their home. Definitely would stay here again.
