Private exterior entrance to the full upstairs suite of a classic 1950's home (not in period decor). Enjoy the peace and quiet in your 900 square feet, two-bedroom, one-bath, living room home. 13 short walking blocks to historic downtown McMinnville, past classic, warm, residential streets. Perfect for one couple or two who want to experience all the wonders of the Willamette Valley but don't want to break the bank. Plan to enjoy meals out (no kitchen and kitchen access to the main house), and let the Oregon Wine Zimmer be your place of rest.
We provide a small refrigerator, microwave, toaster, Keurig coffee maker, and table top ice maker.

Two-night minimum.

Not suitable for children, pets, or smoking. 100% no smoking, vaping, or weed.

Important to note: you enter the Zimmer by going up stairs to the back deck. If stairs are a problem for you, this is not the right place for you, unfortunately.

Zimmer means room or chamber in German. Often travelers stay in a Zimmer while visiting Germany, Switzerland, or Austria. We stayed in our first Zimmer while visiting Switzerland in 2003. It changed how we traveled forever. We are pleased to have you enjoy our Zimmer.

Perfect Getaway

Great Stay

The rental was better than we had anticipated. The only convenience they did not have was a kitchen, but with a microwave, toaster, fridge, Keurig and tea pot, you didn’t need it. Two bedrooms with one bath made it bigger than we needed. The outdoor deck was great. We were a 5 minute drive to downtown McMinnville that has a number of restaurants and at least 10 tasting rooms, maybe more. If we have a chance to come back to wine country in Oregon, we will look to stay here again. The owners were very nice, attentive and responsive.

Well appointed. Clean and convenient although a car is needed to get downtown. No kitchen but not a problem for us. AC available and fans. Overall was an adequate place for our weekend stay. I would recommend.

What a zimmer

This was an absolutely fantastic place to stay. The location is perfect to get around town as well as the entire surrounding area. Made such great ease to travel to wineries if different directions. Estelle was a great host making sure we had everything we needed. The listing is extremely accurate to everything mentioned. Plus parking was so easy and it was like having our own space. This was a first class experience. Please just go when it’s available.

If you are looking for a place to cook a big meal this is not the place for you. However, if you are looking for a clean and quiet place with comfortable beds, and life’s basic requirements (coffee and coffee maker), with a deck to sit with a glass of wine this is perfect.

A wonderful place to stay and a great value

It's a wonderful place to stay and it's a great value, too: 2BR, 1 BA apartment is large and clean and nicely furnished, including a mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker, glasses, and disposable plates and utensils. The neighborhood is also very nice, and it's an easy 15 minute walk to downtown McMinnville, including its wine tasting rooms and brew pubs. The deck is as nice as the pictures show. If anyone has a handicap: It's a 2nd floor apartment so you must climb stairs.

Large and very nice

Was just me staying 3 nights. Two good sized rooms with King beds and large living room with plenty of furniture. Full size bathroom and clean. Even though there’s not a full kitchen, there’s plenty of appliances and even an ice maker. Big flatscreen, I didn’t really watch much due to daily activities. Parking right by entrance stairs to unit and there’s lights as well. Was a nice neighborhood with friendly people walking by in the morning and afternoons while I was getting car ready for the day. Recommend as a very affordable, nice and clean place to stay.

Great place to stay!

My four friends and I stayed here for a joint birthday weekend for two of us. Even without a kitchen they had everything we needed for our stay. We enjoyed wine and meals on the deck, which was perfect and a great size with a table and four chairs on one end and a lounge-y area as well. The location was great - not quite downtown but a quick drive and so close to wineries. I would definitely stay here again!

Perfect spot for wine tasting!

We stayed in the Zimmer for 3 night for a wine tasting weekend. It was the perfect size for 4 adults. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were a good size. There was plenty of comfortable seating in the living room. The deck was such a nice place to sit with your coffee and a book in the morning and a nice glass of wine in the evening. We will definitely be back.

Nice, clean property, good location

Only problem was that the only A/C is in the main room. No air in the bedrooms, so we had to sleep on the sofas. Would be great to be able to open the windows in the bedrooms and then it would've been fine. Otherwise, lovely place to stay.

We are passionate travelers who enjoy a great glass of wine and spending quality time with our friends. We have two grown children. Our daughter and son-in-law have upgraded us to grandparent level, times two.

Why they chose this property

We opened the Oregon Wine Cottage in 2007. The Zimmer is our second vacation rental designed for the budgeting-sophisticated traveler.
We also owned VRBO #150974, The Oregon Wine Cottage, from 2007 to 2020 when we closed it.

What makes this property unique

The Zimmer has two bedrooms, each with a king size bed. One bathroom, a living room with 50 inch TV, free Wifi. Private side entrance, up a flight of stairs to your door and private deck for sipping wine into the evening hours. Budget travel is possible in wine country!
