Relaxing, clean and convienience

  • 5 of 5

Our family enjoyed our stay at "Just Beachy". The property was a bit aged due to wear and tear as expected for being on the coast. However, the property is very clean and had all items you would need. My wife really enjoyed the décor. We forgot to bring lighter to start our charcoal, guess what - there was one in the kitchen drawer. Need a wine bottle opener, there is one of those too. No mosquito problem due to the constant breeze. The beach is a few steps away from the home. Nice location on island, you almost have beach entirely to yourself. Grocery stores nearby. Owner easy to deal with and provides you with all information you will need during your stay. We are looking forward to our next stay, as we will certainly consider this property again.

It's a great getaway spot! Perfect size for what we needed and perfectly secluded from everything.

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our time at Just Beachy! I would definitely book this spot again. The house is very nice, clean and it's perfectly set on the beach to over look the gorgeous waves. Only criticism is that I was told to bring VHS for the VCR (which wasn't a problem, as we have plenty of old classics) but when we arrived there was a DVD player. Everything ended up fine, as we mostly played games when it rained or just went to the beach anyways. But it would have been nice to know.

Overall- this is a great house to rent for anyone looking for a nice vacation getaway!

Great get-away!

  • 5 of 5

Perfect for a smaller group that doesn't want to pay for a massive beach house. The owner's flexibility on minimum length of stay and pricing is good. I will definitely return!

Nice property. Great location!

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our stay at Just Beachy. We prefer to be away from the touristy crowds and attractions, so this location was perfect for us. The only thing that may prevent a second stay is that we weren't allowed to bring our fur babies. Otherwise, we would definitely stay here again.

Great location and beach access

  • 4 of 5

We had a great time. Almost perfect. Had all the things you would need, including great kitchen setup, pots and pans, etc. Might be a good idea to take pictures of what's in the cabinets and fridge so folks can plan better. Brought some of our own, like crock pot, because we didn't know what they would have. AC was great, not like the place we stayed last year that would freeze up if you set it to 72 degrees. Nice charcoal grill downstairs, not the cheap throw away kind. It was used daily. They had good water hoses in three good spots. The downstairs shower was great. Plenty of beach toys, even though we brought our own for our grandson and wouldn't have if we had known. They also had two folding tables in the closet, 4x2 size, even though we brought ours. Plenty of dresser and closet space. Beach access was great, and not that far of a walk. We brought folding wagons to make it easier, and that worked.

Only a few minor issues kept it from being 5 stars. The hall toilet didn't flush well. The one in the master bedroom worked like it should, and I even read a review about the hall bathroom not flushing well, so it still hasn't been fixed. The towel rack in the hall shower was pulling out of the wall. Someone used the wrong type of drywall anchors so not strong enough to hold up beach towels at a beach house. The fridge was brand new, only a week or so old, with a great ice maker and freezer, and there were 8 ice trays if you wanted to make more, as ice is a necessity at the beach. But the fridge didn't cool down to the right temperature. Didn't have a thermometer so don't know what the temp was but the food and drinks were cool, not cold. My guess is it froze up as some LG models do. Even on coldest setting, it didn't cool enough. One of the electrical outlets went out on our third day there. And of course it was the one where the TV and wifi router were plugged in. Noticed because we lost wifi, and then found the power to it was out. Close inspection showed a blackened prong on the power strip and an outlet that looked like it was about to burn up. Salt air corroded it and I guess it shorted out. I had brought a good extension chord so just used a different outlet and power strip. Another outlet was loose so it probably needs replaced also. So mainly some minor inconveniences that kept it from getting 5 stars. My wife didn't like the King bed, but it was fine for me and all the other beds were fine as far as I know.

Owner's Response: We're glad you enjoyed your stay. The receptacles and towel rack are fixed and the power strip has been replaced. As you indicated, the refrigerator is brand new. It has been working fine. It may be sensitive to initially loading with too much warm food and liquids. The beach toys are indicated on the VRBO description of the house. Hall toilet: this is the first time anyone has complained about this toilet. We knew it flushed slowly, but have not had any issues with it. We will monitor this and replace if needed. The beach environment is very hard on homes. We work very hard to keep up with maintenance and upkeep. We do request that our guests let us know if there are any issues that require repair so we can keep the house in good condition. If there are concerns requiring immediate attention, we do have maintenance staff available to address this as well. Thank you, Scott
