About the property

This comfortable 2 bedroom, 1 bath home is surrounded by gardens, rock walls and paths, and several monumental rock sculptures. The view of the Ortiz mountains from the living room and stone terrace is stunning, and the sunset views from the stone terrace are something to write home about. The living room boasts the largest shephard's fireplace ever, while also providing a wood-burning stove for contemporary warmth and atmosphere. The kitchen is fully furnished for cooking adventures, with dishes, cutlery, pots and pans, linens, pantry items, etc. Artwork, pottery and folkart are located throughout the casa, leading to interesting discoveries at every turn. Hiking opportunities are available just out the back door; but if contemplating the hummingbirds at the lavender is preferred, the gazebo is available for your enjoyment. WiFi is accessible throughout the casa as well as on the terrace and in the gazebo. When necessary, heat is available from a forced-air furnace. Washer and dryer are available for use.

Scenic and private

  • 5 of 5

The perfect honeymoon cabin. Scenic views, private. The cabin is fully furnished with amazing art, books and native treasures. Enjoyed deer roaming the grounds and a wonderful array of birds frequenting the area. We will return to this cabin again soon.

Fantastic house

  • 5 of 5

This house feels private and secluded. In fact, the house is close to great restaurants and easily accessible from Santa Fe. It's a beautiful property, and worked well for my partner and I during a week when I had work in Santa Fe.

A foothills retreat

  • 5 of 5

A unique house and property up a winding dirt road. Private, peaceful and relaxing the house is complete, lacking nothing. Not being in the noise and congestion of town was great, and everything Santa Fe has to offer is so close. This is not a place if you want to walk to restaurants and bars, wandering the shops and galleries. It is a relaxing home base for enjoying the variety of Northern New Mexico.

Beautiful home, beautiful surroundings, a great base for the Santa Fe area

  • 5 of 5

We vacation "out west" each summer and stay in at least one VRBO property each trip. My children agreed that this was our favorite property to date. The house is in a beautiful setting on the side of a rocky hill with a great view to the mountains in the Albuquerque area. The house is adobe style, and we liked how it stretched along the property and nestled into the hill. The terrace with the mountain view was our favorite breakfast spot. The grounds are fascinating and have to be seen to be believed! The kitchen was well stocked with staples, which was a very nice touch. If I could quibble I'd replace the hardware on the shower, but that's a very minor detail. The house is well sized for four guests - any more, and the interior may be a bit tight, but there's lots of room to spread out on the grounds. We wished we had the flexibility in our schedule to stay another night or two. This is a great base, very reasonably priced, close to Santa Fe, and to this midwesterner at least, filled with the spirit of New Mexico. Thanks for a great stay!

Perfect home!

  • 5 of 5

A girlfriend and I met for a reunion in Santa Fe and stayed at this lovely home. It was like living in a museum of international artifacts. We loved the location in the hills south of town (about 25 minutes from downtown), the peaceful and relaxed atmosphere, and the land surrounding this gorgeous house. The home was very well stocked with everything you would need. The master bedroom is very large, with is a smaller second bedroom, and one bathroom. The sunrises and sunsets, along with the sporadic lightening/thunder and rainstorms from the deck were stunning. We have both traveled extensively around the world and this is by far the loveliest home we have ever rented. There is something unique and fascinating everywhere you look. Please note that the last half mile to the house is unpaved. In summer our rental car had no problem accessing the road. I would recommend this for singles or couples. Thank you Michael for making our stay so care free and easy.
