Escapada familiar en Bow Lake

Nuestra casa con vista al agua de la isla Kooaukee ubicada en Bow Lake (accesible en automóvil) fue renovada en la primavera de 2014. La casa tiene un concepto abierto de cocina, sala y comedor que ofrece una vista del lago. Cuenta con 4 habitaciones, 2 baños y una sala de juegos. Otras comodidades incluyen lavadora y secadora, mesa de picnic, parrilla de gas, fogata al aire libre. También tenemos 4 kayaks disponibles para su uso.

Durante los fríos meses de invierno, puede disfrutar de raquetas de nieve, motos de nieve, esquí de fondo, pesca en hielo y, por supuesto, patinaje sobre hielo.

** Nota: Nuestro grupo objetivo son familias / parejas que buscan divertirse. No queremos grupos de fiesta ruidosos ya que respetamos a nuestros vecinos. Si usted es un grupo de fiesta ruidoso, por favor no pregunte.

Couldn’t have been better…

This is an absolutely beautiful property in an absolutely beautiful place. The home itself is immaculate and spread out just perfectly. Everything is comfortable from the chairs and sofa in the living room to the super cozy beds. Hope I can get back and stay there again. ❤️

Cottage at Bow Lake

Wonderful lake home is beautifully decorated and had everything needed for our stay. Very roomy and comfortable plus fun features for family fun like the game room and putting green. Would definitely stay again!

brief spring getaway

My husband and I were searching for a comfortable and quiet place to stay for a brief getaway and this house was just what we needed! Also we enjoyed the location, and many walks in the area with water views. Our host, Cindy, was very responsive to our needs, and overall this was a very positive experience!

Super Aufenthalt in faszinierender Umgebung

Wir hatten einen super Urlaub im Ferienhaus von Cindy. Der check in war einfach zu handhaben. Die Ausstattung war umfassend, besonders toll waren die Kanus. Damit konnten wir die herrliche Landschaft am Bow Lake erkunden. Wenn wir wieder in dieser Gegend sind, würden wir das Haus wieder mieten. Sehr empfehlenswert, danke Cindy.

Peaceful and comfortable

Beautiful neighborhood and very clean, spacious house. Enjoyed the fire pit and chairs, even caught some nice small mouth bass. This house has something for everyone, the lake, a game room and privacy.

Perfect setup for couples

Property has the best set up for couples and families. There is a master bedroom with bath and a bedroom with 2 twins one one side of the home. On the opposite side of the home is another queen room and another bedroom with 2 twins as well as the full bath. There is so much room you never feel like you are on top of each other. It is so fully stocked that if they don’t have it you probably don’t need it. Everything was neat and cleaned upon arrival. Plenty of lawn games, kayaks, life vests, paddles, seats for patio and fire pit. The fire pit was even all set up and just ready to be lit. Which was great as it rained and it was covered. Listening to the Loons be Loony at night and in the morning is quite the experience. They are a interesting bird and Bow Lake is loaded with them. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Would visit again.

Better than described !

This property is simply beautiful and the pictures do not do it justice. Things we loved: The awesome patio with screen sliding doors and a pellet stove if you get cold. Perfect for the fall/winter. Beds were super comfortable. There was no clutter- it was extremely clean and well maintained. The private beach, kayaks and the awesome view. The quiet neighborhood. The fire pit, BBQ, plenty of chairs, and air hockey. We will definitely be going back!!

Wonderful, relaxing lake vacation

House was perfect for a simple, relaxed lake vacation. Very nice neighborhood, a short walk to the beach, great access to kayaks and sports equipment, and a comfortable, clean house made this a nice trip for the family.

Roomy house on Bow Lake

We chose the Bow Lake Family Getaway to be close to my parent”s and sister”s homes in Northwood for my nephew’s wedding. The owners, Rob and Cindy are easy to deal with. The home was clean and very comfortable for the 7 of us. Our choice was based on reviews and location, and it is exactly as advertised. We especially enjoyed the game room and had tournaments on the shuffleboard table. I took an early morning walk and got some great photos of the fog rising from the lake. Best of all, I was commended for making a great choice. If you are looking for a place in that area, you can’t miss on this home. Michael Centennial, Colorado

Great Place

Fabulous home away from home!

My family just came back and we cannot tell you how wonderful this place was. All the comforts of home. Kayaking and swimming were fabulous and the location can't be beat. Cindy provides everything you need and then some! We cannot wait to come back!

Wonderful home on a fabulous lake.

The home was perfect for our 3 generation vacation. House is wonderfully updated and outfitted. Although we packed two SUV's to the brim, we didn't need to bring anything but food and drink. The lake is clean and the beach is sandy. We were in the water everyday, and took numerous kayaking adventures.

Comfortable, attractive, clean, well-organized house convenient to lake access

Our family have stayed at this house twice and will be going back next year. The owners are very easy to deal with, and the house is well-stocked, well-organized, and very clean. It is a few yards from a small park with sandy beaches for easy lake access as well as picnic tables and a few benches. Berrybogg farm is a few minutes away on Province Road - we like to go there to pick blueberries. If you want some quiet time away on a beautiful lake, this is the perfect place.

Excellent!

We needed a place to accommodate relatives for a family funeral, and this house met our needs very well. It was close to where we needed to be, was in excellent condition, offered a good mix of beds/bedrooms, and had plenty of seating for our crowd. We enjoyed spending time with our loved ones taking walks and playing games on the porch, especially the shuffleboard! The owners were great.

A real gem!

This was our fourth visit to Bow Lake Family Getaway...the owners are great to communicate with, very responsive with any questions or concerns that come up. The lake is beautiful, and it is a very quiet spot. Lots to do right at the house with shuffleboard, air hockey, and outside games and fire pit. Also very close to ocean, mountains, and all kinds of hiking trails. Neighbors are very friendly as well. We love it!

Even more beautiful than advertised!!

We totally enjoyed our stay at Bow Lake--the house was even more beautiful than advertised! This home was equipped with absolutely everything we needed to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. It was immaculately clean and well kept. We had a small heating issue that the owners took care of immediately with very little inconvenience to us - They were very responsive and dedicated to making our stay the best possible experience! I would recommend this property to anyone looking to stay in this area!!

Just a few Pros and Cons to Consider

Pros: Because we have family that own property on Bow Lake we wanted to find something on or near the lake that would work well for 8 people, my wife, our daughter, her husband and four kids, ages from not-quite-two to 10. This four-bedroom, two-bath house on Koowaukee Island fit the bill. Well-equipped kitchen, laundry, lots of outdoor play things, a play room and plenty of board games as well as three kayaks to choose from kept everyone busy. The private, small, Island beach that is intended for homeowners is just the right size for younger children and a great place to enjoy your morning coffee. The owner was very responsive through the rental process and returned a portion of our damage deposit promptly. The price is right. Cons: The house is an older house that has been renovated to some degree but you will find that several of the interior doors don’t close either because of being poorly installed or uneven floors. The casement, crank-out windows are also aged and don’t work smoothly. The bi-fold doors to the laundry appliances were typical, inexpensive doors that didn’t operate well in their tracks. The louvered slats were loose at the bottom when we arrived and as the week went on, several came loose and fell out. The screen door to the patio is not child-proof. It has nothing to protect it from either a child or adult walking into it. The screen was sprung slightly when we arrived but it only took our 20-month grandson one attempt to walk through it that pulled the cording from its groove. The house does have a portable A/C (I think it was an LG model) suitable for cooling up to 500 sq feet, certainly not sufficient for this four-bedroom, split-level design. We decided not to use it at all and were stunned when the owner informed us after our departure that their repairman had to spend time trying to fix it, for which a portion of our deposit monies were held. That was also the case for the screen door and bi-fold door slats. The reason for sharing all of this is to simply suggest that if you decide to rent this property, be sure to take plenty of pictures when you arrive.

A lovely stay!

This was our third year and we loved it even more this year. Everything is so updated, clean and open. The design of the home works perfectly for our family with young children. The new pub table worked out really well for us as extra seating outside around the picnic table. We enjoyed fires every night in the fire pit out front. We were able to kayak and paddleboard every day on the beautiful Bow lake. The little ones enjoyed the playground every day as well. Cindy responds so quickly to any situations that arise. Ex: the fire pit blew out on the bottom and a new one was delivered the next day! Thanks for a lovely stay!

Wonderful property! Excellent location!

This was our third stay at this property and we can definitely confirm that Bow Lake is just as beautiful in the spring as it is in the fall. The neighbors are friendly and welcoming, the beachfront is peaceful and fun, and our son even caught a few fish. We heard the loons the first night we were there, took lots of walks, and took the kayaks out. Of course, we had some shuffleboard competitions, played ladder golf, and sat around the fire pit one evening. Love this property! We are booked again this fall for a few days...our only regret each time is that we have to leave! And Cindy is excellent to work with.

The island offers great kayaking opportunities. Our favorite activity is kayaking around the island. Within 45 minutes the trek takes you through open waters to shallow grassy channels where you can see fish, loons and spectacular views.
