About Gaylene Peterson

Our family lives in Gig Harbor and we love it here. It is such a wonderful community and has everything we need. We have three children, and our youngest, Charlie, is who we named our lake home after. My husband and I both work locally. I am a teacher at a local school. Someday, we plan to retire in this beautiful home and stay in this amazing community.

Gaylene Peterson purchased this house in 2014

Why Gaylene Peterson chose Puget Sound South

We love this property! We bought it from our good friends after spending many years sitting on the beautiful deck and playing in the water with them. We have already created the best memories right here and want to create many more. We plan to someday live here because we just can not think of any place we would rather be.

What makes this house unique

Although there are many local amenities, you do not need to leave the Cabin at all to have a wonderful vacation. Stock up at Costco on groceries (about 10 minutes away), and pack your bathing suit and toiletries and then enjoy playing at the lake.

Amazing waterfront access!

  • 4 of 5

We absolutely loved our stay here in mid July. The weather was perfect and we spent almost all of our time outside on the patio, dock and around the fire pit. So many fun toys are provided including stand up paddle boards, kayaks, and inflatables. The kitchen was fairly well stocked although we had trouble finding some basics (like a pitcher for drinks). The house and grounds were very clean and Gaylene lives just next door so she was available for anything that we needed. She (along with her lovely children) provided firewood for us every night and the fixings for s'mores! It was a perfectly relaxing vacation and we would absolutely stay here again!

Amazing!

  • 5 of 5

This was a great lake front property that provided all of the amenities you could ever want. From a welcome smores kit to kayaks and paddle boards. We enjoyed coffee on the patio every morning, a fire in the fire pit every evening, and endless play time in between. Can't wait to go back!

Lovely peaceful lake house

  • 5 of 5

Lovely lake house and gracious hosts. We had a quiet Thankgiving with two families and enjoyed cooking in the large open kitchen/great room. Girls 9 and 12 loved the fireplace, comfy reading areas and looking at the lake while it rained. Grown ups had fun kayaking around the lake and on the hiking trail.

The Perfect Venue for our Wedding!

  • 5 of 5

We rented Charlie's Cabin from Thurs. eve to Mon. a.m. for our wedding, and it was just great. We were able to invite our guests to lake time/BBQ on Friday, the wedding itself on Saturday, and brunch/lake time on Sunday. The weather was perfect, and everyone had a blast playing on the lake, sitting around the fire pit at night, etc. The pictures don't really show it, but the great room/kitchen area is huge. So the caterers for our wedding dinner were able to comfortably set everything up in there (and the house has A/C, so that's nice). Then later, we moved the buffet tables and used that area for dancing. The patio is also huge, so we were able to set up all the tables for dinner there. We set up the chairs for the ceremony down by the arbor, then just moved the chairs back up to the patio afterwards. It's quite a private house, which was really nice. And it's on a cul-de-sac, so we just had everyone park up there and walk down the driveway, which was perfect. Gaylene is super nice and accommodating. She let us come look at the place twice during our planning process, and check-in was super easy. She even left us firewood and some s'mores makings! We left the house quite clean, so we got our full deposit back, and she refunded it really quickly. I only have 2 suggestions. The first is, larger trash receptacles. We had filled both the garbage cans by Saturday. The second is that in a couple areas of the house, one being the refrigerator, there were a bit too many items already there. We quickly ran out of space in the refrigerator and freezer, in part due to this. However, another great thing that Gaylene has is a 2nd, commercial refrigerator, so we made good use of that as well, and were ultimately fine. Oh, and I forgot to say, Gaylene has all the tables, chairs, linens, and even some glassware and other tableware, that you need for a wedding or other occasion. The yard is the perfect ceremony area--our ceremony was scheduled for 5 p.m., and at that time, it's mostly shady, so no one was broiling in the sun. Much of the patio gets sun until late, but we put up a 10' by 20' white tent, which provided some shade for the wedding dinner and brunch the next morning (we didn't use or need it for the BBQ). In summary, this was the perfect place for our wedding. Lots of people said it was the best/most beautiful wedding ever. We hope to rent the house again in the future, so we can have more time to enjoy it ourselves! Highly recommend.
