Orinda Cabin

Property is beautiful, well kept, serene. Lots of parking. Cabin was nice although not nearly as nice as the listing made it appear. Bathroom was outside, down the stairs with a teeny tiny but pretty shower and the washer/dryer are upstairs and in the back of the carport. Floor tiles were cracking, rodent problem and very musty smell which we later figured out was due to a big leak from the kitchen sink. Property owner was responsive to internet issues and other requests.

Horrible Property owners

The wife Daisy spoke only of hoe important her job is with Wells Fargo. She was ok the first day but then it got bazaar. She claimed to only sleep 2 hours a day. I paid for 70 days to VRBO, there was to be a woman named Sara who was the property manager. I never spoke to her. There was trouble in the unit. For 2 weeks I had to open the toilet lid to get the water to flush. There were rats, a dishwasher that did not work. The dishwasher had filthy water in it that had been there for over a year. She wanted the door left open a little. And would provide me with a heavy blanket to keep the smell out. I said this is not acceptable. But she never did a thing about! Bacteria festering in there. VRBO made a mistake by sending me a check back for the place. 2 weeks after I arrived. I was charged for 2 places in Orinda. The first place was to cancelled only. I told her about this problem and she said no worries she had already been paid. The next week she was mad because VRBO took the money out of her account. I told her about this issue. I said when I get the check I will send money to VRBO. The day I received the money in my checking account. I was to send to Vrbo. However so got a call from my sister saying my stepmother was dying. And I needed to leave then. Daisy said “You don’t leave until you write me a check”! I went to her home and was in tears, I said O am to send to VRBO. She said no write into my husband. I asked her how much? She said the same as VRBO.. I said that’s not right! VRBO pays taxes to the City of Orinda. And yoi only get 40%. I said I am deducting got the leaking water from the dishwasher that recked my new sleepers. She said no! I said I am not arguing with you anymore. She looked at me and said”I don’t care about your dying Stepmother”! I said you are a cruel woman and she turned around and walked away. That was December 4th. I left January 11th. I told her she owed me money, but she said there was no contract between us! To make a long story short. I was not out by 11. She was mad. I did leave by 3. But I had to call the police because she was very threatening. Be careful they have 14 properties in Orinda. Beware of people who work for a shady bank. I have learned my lesson and will never stay at a Vrbo again

Orinda hills cabin

“My son and his wife rented this lovely retreat for me for an extended stay. It was a quiet casita up in the Orinda hills with a spectacular view of rolling hills. I really enjoyed being surrounded by beautiful trees and lovely flowers. I went on hikes in the neighborhood and was greeted by friendly neighbors. I felt safe and cozy. An added bonus, is that the landlady “Daisy” is a very caring and sweet lady who made me feel very comfortable and responded to all my needs. I highly recommend this cabin in the woods.”

Don’t rent this property

From rodent issues at check in to an insensitive property owner. From appliances that didn’t work to a property manage that was rude & inaccurate with her responses. I’d rather live under a bridge than rent this property again.

Cabin in beautiful surroundings

Beautiful location. It was raining most of my stay, but on sunny days it was so lovely. Cabin is as described. If there was anything I needed, such as a coffee maker, the owner replied promptly to the request. This was also true when the laundry machines in the carport weren’t working, she provided access to others on the property. The private bathroom is in the next cabin down an outside flight of stairs, I kept an umbrella handy for the rain. There was a soothing chorus of frogs to every night and bird songs in the morning. Enchanting location and a responsive host.

What a great week away at the Hideaway

We had a wonderful week long stay at this Hideaway. The beautiful cabin is not huge but cozy. The best part of the property is the amazing view and the landscape. It will take your breath way. It has shade and sun, is located far away from the street and you can't hear a thing except birds chirping and the sound of the wind thru the ponderosa pines. madrone, oak and cypress! We found the place accidentally. Lucky for us as we didn't think place like this can exist in such a populated San Francisco Bay Area. It is a GEM and hope to return soon.

Wow! What an incredible experience! What a Magical Place!!

This space is unlike any other I've been in...It’s unique, beautiful, quiet, serene and so welcoming.. from the comfortable bedding to the goodies provided just for you. You also feel like living somewhere in your surreal dreams. I wanted somewhere to be able to go to be alone, yet stay close to San Francisco and it was the perfect place for me! Somewhere in the sky, above the clouds way up high.. I had such a pleasant experience and adored the host. Wish I never had to leave!!! You will LOVE staying here.

No other word than "PERFECT"!

I stand in line with all the other reviewers. This CABIN is absolutely perfect and I highly recommend to others. Beautifully furnished, very well maintained, spotless clean. It felt like home. Many, many Thanks to the hosts for providing a perfect location for a wonderful week. I did some awesome hikes in the surrounding mountains and enjoyed every single day. If I ever was in the area, I would always come back.

BREATHTAKINGLY BEAUTIFUL... A PEACEFUL REFUSE FROM YOUR BUSY LIFE

Everything was just as depicted in the listing. The cabin was great--wonderfully located and furnished with everything I needed. The arrival instructions were clear and complete, and the bag of Peet's coffee that was left on the counter was a special welcome and classic touch. I loved hills and the close access to good food and entertainment. The cabin also served as a good base for visits to my family and friends in the area and a day trip up to Sonoma. The downtown San Francisco was 20 minutes away with BART. I'd stay there again in a minute.

Beautiful Location! Perfect Place to Stay in Everyway...

What a location!!! This is the perfect place to stay in San Francisco Bay Area. It is close to everything yet very private and quiet. There is a beautiful view from every corner. The Cabin is beautiful, very clean, tastefully furnished and comfortable. Great place to spend a quiet bit of time, or go see the town and city. The host is so helpful! I had a great time exploring the area and if you are a adventure seeker or like to hike you will be in paradise! Could not ask for anything more and also a great price! I can't wait to go back!

Orinda Private Cabin With Magnificent Surrounding & Beautiful Landscape! What a GEM!!

This sweet cabin in Orinda is an amazing getaway. I am amazed that someone had the foresight to build such a beautiful redwood cabin right in the middle of a huge metropolitan area. It is only 20 minutes away from downtown San Francisco. The property is on the top of the hills, at the end of a private road in a very upscale neighborhood. It is almost a surreal experience when you get here. Amazing views from all directions. Everywhere you look, all you see the breathtaking views from top of the world! I never thought a place like this even exists. So quiet and serene and it is hard to imagine where I would rather be.. I would definitely stay here again. The owner communication was great and I had the total privacy during my stay. I highly recommend. If you want to enjoy the serenity and solitude then this is the place to be.

Beautiful Mid Century Modern Cabin with Breathtaking View

I enjoyed my stay in this lovely redwood cabin. The location was perfect! It was close to University of California Berkeley campus and short distance to many shops and restaurants. Having the parking space was a definite plus! The cabin was spacious and had everything I needed. The owner was very responsive. I would consider coming back and would recommend to my friends! What a beautiful place!
