I have rented this cabin for 5 years now and have never been disappointed. A lot of space, very clean and a great location. However, if you are planning a trip during snow season please be aware. I was told that there is an HOA in this resort who would salt the roads for guest. This was NOT true during our visit. When we arrived we went to the front desk and asked about salting the roads before the snow came. They refused and only said they would salt our cabin sidewalks. They said they would only salt if the county enforced them to. Very disappointed because they had both the equipment and salt to help but chose to stay in their front office. We will go back, but I think you need to be prepared for this as a guest.

The overall stay was ok. We were sent the wrong key code couple of times until we had to call and find out that it was wrong. The is a small ramp at the door that blends in with the wood which several people tripped over almost spraining their ankle. If they fixed those things it would have been better

Nice big house, need improvement on management

We just came back from a trip a couple of weeks ago. As a big group, we like this house. The upper level game room has an array of bunk beds, was a nice surprise. The overall house is clean. However, I think the property management team has some room to improve, especially in following areas, 1. Client Communication is very poor I was told that I will get the lock code on the day of arrival. I concerned I might not have a good signal if I am in the mountains so I called them for lock code, they told me they will send text message to my phone after 4pm. And they will call to confirm I receive this message. Until 6pm, I haven't received anything, so I have to call again to get the code. During our stay, it is also very difficult to reach the office and staffs. All I can do is to leave them voicemail. 2. Almost no response from the maintenance team On the first day, we have found some house maintenance issues, for example, all the light bulbs are out and leave the parking lot really dark. ( we have many cars parked there and we had a minor collision ) I left a voice mail report this issue, but receive no response in 24 hours. After that, I called again and reached the maintenance line, they said they got the voice mail and the maintenance order is in place. And John will be come to our unit that day. So we have someone waiting in our unit and wait for him, but he never showed up. And we have never seen anybody from the office during our stay. The only thing they did is that someone took the trash away after we report trash bins were full. 3. The check-in procedure says that we will receive some free tickets. I never seen the tickets during our stay. After I report the issue, someone call me and apologize for it, told me that there will be a person call me in a couple of days. And nobody called. If you just need a nice big house, close to smoky mountains, and have no expectation on house maintenance, this might be a good choic

Unhappy Resident

This review is not the same as a previous one. I agree it has some of the trouble but also has different. You seem to be holding it back because you don't want the potential customers to know how bad of shape this chalet is in. Otjee reviews are similar to this by a different group. you didn't hold theirs. Right off the bat, we pulled up to this chalet/cabin and wondered where are we going to park? Everyone carpooled and we had to do the car shuffle when groups were going out for the day. Room bedding accommodations were not as stated. Kitchen appliances were in very poor condition. Kitchen cookware is not sufficient for the size of what this chalet can accommodate. Cleaning looked as though it had not been done quite some time. Dust caked on white baseboards not hard to see. Carpets stained and very dirty. If you walk barefooted or with socks on, your feet and socks looked as though you had walked outside with no shoes. We had several handicapped persons and the accessibility was very hard for them. Bathrooms are not handicapped accessible ( bathtub/shower) with no slip proof mats. Only 2 garbage cans for a chalet that handles 69 persons. We had to call for garbage pickup rather than them coming on a daily basis. While some beds were made on the first day, NONE of the bunks were made. We were told they don't do bunks. We had to call maintenance for clogged sinks, toilets, lights, doors, ice makers, freezer, hot water. Cobb webs all over back balconys. Brought baseball equipment to use batting cage to no avail, batting cage inoperable. Was unable to use pool for several days because of its condition. We made the best of the situation, but the facility management has not put their best foot forward. I suggest they stop renting this chalet until they do what they said on the site. That this chalet would be renovated. To say the least.... dissatisfied and disappointed. Feeling bad that a relative paid A LOT of money for such poor accommodations and a small offered refund and asked not to post negative comments. Sounded like payoff money rather than an honest effort to make things good. So sad.

On the good side. Great location for all the local entertainment! And the maintenance man did the best he could. Had fun with family members from all corners of the U.S.A.

Dirty Disappointment

Spend your $10,000 elsewhere

42 people, 4 generations from multiple areas of country arrived to find this disappointment.

No batting cages, soccer field, bedroom TVs

Beds not made as requested or shown in floor plan

Carpets were filthy, stained and coming apart in areas

Kitchen linoleum torn & patched with black gorilla tape

Mildew caked in long line behind both kitchen sinks

Ice makers in both freezers did not operate properly,

Refrigerators had long lines of rust cascading down the front

Fridges don’t accommodate food for large group for a week

Only 1 lg pot between and it wasn’t very big

Ovens don’t heat properly & seals in oven doors were ripped and tearing out

Stove burners don’t all heat properly

Louver doors to both AC rooms coated in thick layers of dust

Floors in the AC closets (in kitchen) coated with dust and soil

Long back dining room good except that there are only two 60 watt bulbs to light the entire area. One of the freezers didn’t work.

Several of toilets had mold under the rim

Bathroom floors had piles of dust and debris and hair in the corners and edges

Baseboards were filthy and hadn’t been wiped down for a long time

Toilet in room 1 didn’t flush

Room 5 & Room 10 tubs didn’t drain

Shower light in room 14 out

Sink in room 15 clogged

Room 16 door knob fell off

4 of 6 sofas were old, worn saggy

Inadequate parking to accommodate 69 people

Poor Handicap accessibility. Sidewalk from road to front door has a drop and other

Steps leading from porch to parking area extremely dangerous at night as there is Zero lighting –

Hot water was lukewarm … wouldn’t get hot.

Clothes dryers not drying properly

Playground was locked.

No anti slip mats for the showers

Front door striker plate loose so door was often difficult to open.

Lights in the 3rd floor bunk room need to be replaced –flickering or out completely

Walls in stairwells filthy and you could see streaks of dirt where things had drizzled down the walls.

Linoleum floors in kitchens and big dining porch very dirty.

Linoleum separating away from tubs in most bathrooms and the caulk jobs smeary

Ceiling fan blades are coated with dust

Boards on bridge on trail are rotting, a couple are broken/missing

Zero sound proofing between the floors and every footstep or movement of a dining room chair sounds like a herd of horses overhead.

Exit light is not working between rooms 5 & 6

A very enjoyable stay. We have been doing a large family vacation in the area for several years and this was our first stay with Eden Crest. Property needed a little fixing up but was very clean. Maintenance was taken care promptly and courteously. We understood Eden Crest had only recently acquired this property and plans for a complete upgrade before next season We have already reserved it for next year. Location is great.
