Additional attractions include multiple nearby world-class snorkeling, swimming, sunbathing, surfing, and turtle/whale watching beaches, multiple golf courses, and numerous coffee plantations, farmers markets, restaurants, historic sites and other tourist attractions. As an added bonus, the property is a great spot for bird watching, including wild parrots, kalij pheasants, francolins, wild turkeys, cardinals, saffron finches, various song-birds, pueo (Hawaiian owl), and 'io (Hawaiian hawk).

Additional amenities include air conditioning, 40" cable tv, highspeed internet, barbeque grill, outdoor dining area, shared laundry access, use of snorkeling gear, beach towels and beach chairs, and off-street parking for one car per apartment. Another wonderful stay at Pamahoa!

  • 5 of 5

We've been visiting Kona frequently for the past 10 years and have developed a good sense of the vacation rental scene there. Lisa and Martha's place on Pamahoa has become our go-to for many reasons: location (quiet, close but not too close to town), clean, charming, comfortable, EASY. We never cease to be impressed with their generous hospitality and attention to DETAIL. Both units are thoughtfully stocked with everything we need - all the essential cookware and even snacks and coffee for the weary traveler after a long flight from the mainland. We haven't told Lisa and Martha about our little game "identify the missing kitchen item" but haven't because we always lose! Last trip it was a rubber band, corkscrew, and coffee filters: nope, had those too. It's also fun to watch the progress with their lovely gardens over time. Staying at Pamahoa is like visiting friends or family - but without the drama! Best run VRBO home ever!

Mahalo nui loa to Lisa and Martha for their Aloha.

Owner's Response: Thanks Riley and Amy. We always love having you here. Perhaps next time you can start a new game, "find the new convenience item". I believe you will find the "new item" to be quite illuminating!

Pristine

  • 5 of 5

I am reluctant to give a good review for fear that it won't be available for my next trip. This is the cleanest place I've ever seen. There are no better host than these two lovely ladies. Thanks for making this a trip to remember. See you next summer.

The perfect place to stay on the Big Island

  • 5 of 5

We had a fantastic time staying here. The apartment was stocked with any and everything you would need for a perfect, fun-filled Big Island adventure. The garden and yard are so well manicured, you think you are in a botanic garden. Close to everything, but far enough for some peace. Highly recommend.
