This spacious, well appointed apartment is located in Kailua-Kona, Big Island, on one acre of land, on a private road, and overlooks 15 acres of grassland and jungle, with background ocean views. At 938 feet above sea level, the property enjoys morning and evening breezes, cooler temperatures, and spectacular sunsets. This apartment is one of two ground level apartments in a two story private home (owners reside in the 2nd floor living space); it is the right unit in the photos taken facing the sliding glass entrance doors. Each apartment has a separate outside entrance which is located on the opposite side of the house from the owner’s 2nd floor entrance. The owners are very quiet and considerate of guest privacy but they are always available to answer questions, make suggestions, and provide directions.
The apartment has one large bedroom, with a high quality queen sized mattress, one bathroom, and a dining/living area/kitchenette. The apartment sleeps a maximum of 2 people.

The home is conveniently located just off of Palani Road and it is only a 13 minute drive from the Kona Airport (KOA), a 7 minute drive to the Kailua-Kona pier and the Ali’i Drive “old-town” tourist and restaurant district, a 5 minute drive to Walmart, and a 10 minute drive to Costco. Additional attractions include multiple nearby world-class snorkeling, swimming, sunbathing, surfing, and turtle/whale watching beaches, multiple golf courses, and numerous coffee plantations, farmers markets, restaurants, historic sites and other tourist attractions. As an added bonus, the property is a great spot for bird watching, including wild parrots, kalij pheasants, francolins, wild turkeys, cardinals, saffron finches, various song-birds, pueo (Hawaiian owl), and 'io (Hawaiian hawk).
Additional amenities include air conditioning, 40" cable tv, highspeed internet, barbeque grill, outdoor dining area, shared laundry access, use of snorkeling gear, beach towels and beach chairs, and off-street parking for one car per apartment. Also available, upon request, is a portable mini-grill and a portable Coleman camping stove, for use during your outings. The unit has newer furnishings, is very clean, and has everything you will need, including stove/oven, microwave, toaster, drip coffee maker, French press, water kettle, pots/pans, dishes, silverware, knives, cutting boards, can and bottle openers, cooking utensils, clothes iron and ironing board, towels, sheets, blankets, pillows, blow dryer, paper towels, Kleenex, and toilet tissue. Also included in the rental price is a welcome snack basket, an assortment of cold drinks, and coffee fixins, to hold you over until you can go to the grocery store.

Great location, nice view, and the opportunity to sculpt our own perfect piece of jungle. Also, the house was specifically designed and built with 2 independent apartments and is perfectly positioned for vacation rental.
This property is close to everything; great snorkling beaches only minutes to the South, great turtle beaches due West of the property and great swimming, surfing and whale watching beaches just minutes to the North. The property is also centrally located between multiple tourist attractions ranging from Volcano National Park, to various historic sites, to elegant plantations, spectacular botanical gardens, and tropical adventures including kayaking the Kohala flume, ocean kayaking, and zip lining in Hawi.
Perfect quiet spot with gardens, birds and privacy. Everything was exactly as described and we found it so relaxing to come “home” after a day of adventuring. We had great conversations with Lisa, catching her as she did her daily rounds of the yard. We would look forward to staying here again, should/when we get back to Hawaii!
Lisa and Martha are great hosts with a fantastic property. All the extras (food, drink and ammentities) make this place really stand out. The garden is wonderful and a great spot to catch a Kona sunset. The location is great, it felt extremlely private while still being convenient. We wish we would have stayed longer and will absolutely be back.
We were very impressed with this home. It was immaculate, had nice views and outdoor seating in the garden area. It was a great size and was well set up with separation of the 2 units and the owner. They provided so many thoughtful things - a nice variety of snacks and pre-stocked kitchen items, some Tupperware, a cooler, shopping bags, night lights, travel books, beach chairs, umbrellas, snorkel gear, a nice-sized TV, very nice sheets and towels. Hosts were friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this property!
The grounds are beautiful. The rental unit was immaculate, comfortable and more than well stocked with essential items. The hosts are fabulous people...helpful, kind and responsive. Conveniently located yet a little piece of private paradise. I stayed a month!
No need to repeat what others have said--simply put, this is a wonderful place to stay in every way, the hosts Lisa and Martha are extraordinarily thoughtful, and we enjoyed our time here immensely.
Everything was as advertised. Lisa and Margaret were very attentive to details and knowledgeable about the area. We had an assortment of snorkeling gear to choose from. The garden area looked like a master gardener had prepared it. I particularly enjoyed being able to get out of the touristy trap on the water and getting away to the nice quiet garden area. We turned off the air conditioner as we found the 1,000 foot altitude to be very pleasant. We would stay here again without even looking at other places.
