A Very Nice place to stay for the Weekend.
This cabin was very nice, clean & comfortable. It was perfect for the weekend, I would definitely stay again.
This cabin was the perfect get away with a super store right across the street for any essentials that you might have forgotten. Cozy and relaxing is really the only way to look at this place.
Great location, nice floor plan, could use some love
My family of four stayed here for 3 nights the end of December. It's very easy to get to, especially if there's a lot of snow (which unfortunately, we didn't have). The check-in/check-out process was simple. The cabin had already been opened up, so the water was turned on, which made it extra easy.
We liked the layout of the bedrooms and bathrooms. The living area is huge, which is great for playing games and relaxing. The downstairs is also very spacious and my two boys enjoyed sleeping down there. The deck was beautiful.
Everything was quite dirty. Even the plastic dish drying rack was corroded with muck and spider webs. Half the dishes in the cabinet were sticky, so we washed every dish we wanted to use. The kitchen was relatively well stocked, except for useful frying pans. All the frying pans were in pretty bad shape -- the Teflon peeling off, etc. So, bring your own frying pan if you want to fry eggs. We scrubbed a lot at check-out time, even dusted some windowsills -- and left the place much cleaner than when we got there. But for the price, house cleaning should be included because typical renters do not do a thorough job.
For the high price, not clean, bring your own sheets/towels we gave it 3 stars.
Thank you for your specific suggestions! Yes, we were just there and I saw that we needed new pots and pans! We have invested a large amount of money on the expensive structural needs--3 new decks, roof, and flooring. However it is challenging to maintain the smaller issues given the location is in a rather remote area and the rentals are seasonal. We will work harder on the cleanliness but things like spider webs grow overnight in the mountains.
Thanks again for your feedback,
The cabin was easy to find and very comfortable. We loved the floor plan, it was built with cozy in mind, and very convenient to Pinecrest. The cabin was neat, but was a bit outdated. The only con we have was the BBQ. We brought some nice meat to grill for our meals but found the BBQ propane was completely empty. We immediately notified the owner by email for some type of resolution, but the delayed response was non accommodating, and non sympathetic. We had to use the oven in 90 degree heat, and decided after the first day to dine out and take the meat back home. We still had a great time and would return again, but the BBQ thing was a bummer.
Unfortunately I was traveling myself during your stay and apologize that I was not responsive around the BBQ propane. We now have 2 tanks and should not have this problem again! So sorry!
Cozy cabin with everything you need
This was our second stay at the cabin and the new beds are a huge improvement. The kitchen is well stocked with dishes, pots and kitchen tools and we like the functional layout of the main room. The kids like having their own room and bathroom downstairs. The cabin is easily accessed from the highway, no steep driveway or stairs involved. Overall a great place to stay for our family of five at a reasonable price.
Nice cabin. A few issues need to be addressed...
We really enjoyed our stay at your cabin.it was perfect for us. The new queen beds were very comfortable. The two twins down stairs need new mattresses. The upstairs was very comfortable except for the "couch beds" they need to be replaced as well. Hand rails need to be installed on the stairs! You need to purchase a baby gate that will fit across the stairs. The one that I brought was too small and we extended to out all the way! Some of your cleaning equipment needs to be replaced or parts replaced (new mop head, vacuum bag, vacuum needs repair, cannot adjust the vacuum from floor to carpet.) I ended up hand mopping the bathroom floors and the rags I used were black from the floors. I do not think the floors had been cleaned in a long time.
Down stairs where the water heater is located and you have to turn everything on and off, the areas should be marked in a bright color so they are easily found. When using the thermostat to heat the house the large floor grates are very dangerous! We did not use the heater after we realized the large floor vent were HOT! Where they are located it is not that easy to walk around them nor step over. And last...you need to get pest control service in your home. We killed "9" quarter sized spiders up stairs!! Other than the mentioned issues we would consider renting your cabin again! Thank you.
