Very comfortable, perfect location.

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I spent a week here and loved the property and the neighborhood. We took the train from the airport to a station 2 blocks away and used public transit to see all the sights. The apartment is walking distance to Golden Gate Park and Haight St. as well as neighborhood restaurants and bars. The apartment is very nicely appointed and the bed is very comfortable. The kitchen has everything you need. So glad we didn't stay at some hotel in a tourist area, we felt part of the neighborhood here.

Wonderful suite in great location

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for four nights while my wife attended a conference downtown. We were able to explore nearby Golden Gate park, go to the Zoo, and go to the beach at the end of the park as well as at several other nearby places. Although we had a car to get around, we didn't travel far as there is a lot to see in San Francisco. The suite was well equipped, and having to cross the hall to go to the washroom was no problem. We didn't see another soul the whole time we were there!

Very charming and comfortable home base for exploring SF

  • 5 of 5

I was really pleased with this lovely place. The decor is stylish and uncluttered, and it has everything you need to be comfortable. The Cole Valley neighborhood was new to me, and I enjoyed exploring the shops and restaurants and picking up coffee and a croissant at the wonderful boulangerie there. Loved visiting the new SFMOMA and returning to north beach and City Lights. I felt very safe in this flat. In spite of the proximity to Haight street, it was very quiet at night and the neighborhood is great. I would definitely visit another time and recommend it to others.

A sunny and quiet flat in a beautiful part of Cole Valley

  • 4 of 5

We had a great stay. The apartment is sunny and nicely furnished, with an incredibly comfortable Murphy bed. The pocket doors between living and sleeping areas are a nice feature as you can close them for complete quiet overnight. The kitchen is small but well appointed and the bathroom across hall is just for this apartment. We weren't bothered at all by this as the only other person who has access to this floor of building is a very nice woman who lives in flat at end of all. And you simply cannot beat the location--having lived in Cole Valley many years ago, I can say it remains my favorite spot of SF...close to the Park, great public transit to Hayes Valley and downtown, and itself a quaint village with a few tasty eateries and markets. We would definitely stay again!

Loved our stay during the Summer of Love anniversary

  • 5 of 5

We visited San Fran to take part in the 50th anniversary of the Summer of Love and wanted to stay close to Haight Ashbury, so we chose this lovely condo just blocks off Haight. It's beautifully furnished and the perfect size for a party of two, though it could easily fit more people. There's a fully stocked kitchen, very comfortable bed, cozy living room and dining area that looks out over the street. It's probably the quietest place I've stayed, which was surprising given its proximity to Haight and all the activity. The owner provided us with details on how to get to public transportation, which was essential because we had no car. There were plenty of brochures on what to do and see as well. The bathroom is located a few steps outside of the unit, but that was not an issue. Bathrobes are provided to guests and there is only one tenant on the same floor, who we never saw. It felt very private and romantic. One last thing - because we live in a tropical climate, we were pretty chilly at nighttime. There are heating units in the condo that are very easy to control and they helped us stay warm. I would not hesitate to return. And if you are thinking about going this year, don't miss the Summer Of Love exhibit at the DeYoung Museum and take your own walking tour of the Haight district. Peace!

Super Cute Flat! Easy Access to Transportation

  • 4 of 5

For the most part, we really enjoyed the flat! It had beautiful hardwood floors and a lot of light that comes in during the day. The bed was very comfortable and the kitchen had everything that we needed. Quiet neighborhood surrounded by some great places to eat! (Bacon Bacon, Crepes on Cole, and The Ice Cream Bar were a few of our favorites). There were a few things that were a little surprising about the flat but were not major issues. The bathroom was not located inside our portion of the flat . We had to exit our private rooms and step across the hallway to get to it. (There was another tenant living in the building but we did not have to share our bathroom with them. It was only for our private use. However, that was somewhat inconvenient if there was a need to use the restroom in the middle of the night. It meant having to get dressed to use the restroom). Also the curtains were really sheer. During the day that was perfect but at night there was very little privacy. We were also surprised that there was no air conditioning but soon realized that the weather in San Francisco is always cool and we didn't need it.

Note: We were required to put down a non-refundable deposit and pay for VRBO's fee as part of our rental fees. This changed the price that we originally thought that we would be charged substantially-be mindful of that when you prepare to book the flat. It is not disclosed up front, but at the end of the online rental transaction. (By that time we had already done a lot of research on the area and were ready to book. We were frustrated but just ready to be done with looking for another place so we just paid the fees. We will remember that next time we book through VRBO). This was not disclosed on the "upfront" pricing on the web page.

Tina , (the owner), was great to work with and gave us great information about the area as well as transportation. We enjoyed our trip very much!

Owner's Response: This esteemed guest, as all of our guests, was offered a floor plan and a specific description about the location of bathroom. As she mentioned, it is PRIVATE and for exclusive guest use. What is missing from this thorough discription of her stay, is the fact that I provide lovely spa robes for our guests' comfort and enjoyment... eliminating completely the need to 'get dressed' to go to the bathroom. Since our flat is NOT on street level, and the beautiful west-facing bay windows with gorgeous Victorian trim detail pour-in sunlight, I chose sheers for window coverings. They provide enough opacity without taking away from the beauty of the detail. One can close the pocket doors to the bedroom and have a closed-off private space in the event someone is levitating 10' above the ground, peeping into the windows. You will have a hard time finding a better value than our place... it is Four Seasons appointed and decorated with every amenity one could desire. It priced very attractively due to the quirky lay-out. Similarly located, decorated and appointed flats are priced well over $250/night.
