Costa Rican Beauty

  • 5 of 5

This is one of the best secluded, untouched gems of Costa Rica. The accommodations was awesome, the outside kitchen/Rancho is perfect for multi families and the beach was literally a few steps away. Marvin and his wife are very helpful and polite and the owners Carlos and Alejandra were amazing. If you want perfection, its here!

A fabulous and secluded beach house!

  • 5 of 5

What a delightful spot for a vacation. It's a secluded beach home that accommodated all of our guests and it was absolutely beautiful. Our stay was made even better with careful attention from the owner who lined up a fishing trip, daily housekeeping and Costa Rican home cooking ($6 for breakfast and $10 dinners per person). We woke to spectacular sunrises, fresh fruit and coffee and enjoyed the sand and surf all day long. There were boogie boards and surfboards available and the water was crystal clear with perfect 3-foot surf. In the evenings we watched jaw-dropping sunsets and enjoyed bonfires on the beach. We loved the area! The nearby town of San Francisco De Coyote had a market, pleasant cafe and bar and restaurant. People couldn't be friendlier. The drive to this home is spectacular as well with rural ranches and farms dotting the roadway. Thank you Carlos and Alejandra!

Amazing!!!

  • 5 of 5

Thank you to the owners & especially to Marvin, Dominga (the cook$ & Bulma-the maid (sp?) for an incredible stay! We truly felt like we had a piece of the Pacific Ocean to ourselves! We barely saw any other tourists as the beach was so wide & long. We loved mucking around in the tide pools down to the right & enjoyed the estuary/mangroves to the left. The small pool was a welcome retreat to cool off in & the accommodations were comfortable & safe.

We truly loved our time here! If we ever get back to that part of CR, we'll absolutely stay again! This property had way more beds/rooms then we needed...but it was what was available & it worked out! THANK YOU!

-we are a couple from Maryland, USA that traveled w/our 2 young sons (5.5 & 2.5 yrs old at that time)

Well worth the drive!!!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 12 (2 parents; 5 adult children; 5 spouses/partners) just spent 9 magnificent days at this beautiful beachfront property!! That meant four of us to each simple but completely clean and workable bedroom/bath combo and lots of room for all of us in the spacious free-standing kitchen and open air dining space.

We had the gorgeous beach almost completely to ourselves for most of our stay and had the surf and boogie boards going almost non-stop. The volleyball net also got tons of use as did the small but super appreciated above ground pool.

Bulmar and Marvin made sure we had everything we needed housekeeping and maintenance wise and we ordered most of our breakfasts and dinners through Dominga, a local and very talented chef!

We ate, happily, in a couple local restaurants, visited the little grocery stores in San Francisco de Coyote often, discovered a glorious local bakery and enjoyed a fishing trip with a local fisherman, arranged by Carlos. We also did one day trip to Curu National Park, but mostly we were content to rest and be restored on the property!

The drive from San Jose definitely took awhile, especially as we drove through the night, but the location was WELL worth the wait and we'd go back again in a heartbeat!

What else is there to say? Book this property!!

Relaxing, secluded beach

  • 5 of 5

What an amazing place! After driving a little under an hour on gravel roads, we arrived at La Gobeta. We soon realized that the drive was well worth it. Such a beautiful stretch of beach. We felt like we had it to ourselves with hardly any other people. Interesting shoreline with tide pools and cliffs at one end and an estuary at the other.

We loved walking on the beach early in the morning then coming back and fixing breakfast in the open air kitchen. A morning swim and playing in the waves with the surf boards and boogie boards that were provided was great. Afternoons were spent lazing in the hammocks, reading, and playing volleyball. We loved the open living area that let us enjoy being outdoors. We arranged lunches with Dominga. They were affordable and tasted great! We enjoyed evenings talking, playing games, and listening to the waves. At the end of the day we were welcomed with comfy beds and air conditioning.

The small town close by has a couple of grocery stores that we were able to get everything we needed. We enjoyed lots of fresh fruit!

There were 10 of us, 4 adults and 6 young people ages 16-21. We were very comfortable and had a great time! It was hard to leave. Hope to be back someday!

Great house, beutiful beach, excellent vacation...

  • 5 of 5

We arrived there late afternoon, the sun was beating down so we went to go sit at the bar under the rancho, in full view if the beautiful pacific ocean, and enjoyed a cold glass of water. The property was the perfect size for our large group of 12, we were able to all eat and sleep comfortably and enjoy the three hammocks and the small volleyball area. The rooms were rustic with good water pressure (something that is scarcely found in CR) and A/C, our beds were very confortable and after the long day at the beach we slept incredibly well. That morning we went fishing in the mangroves with a local fisherman, and got back to breakfast out (prepared by the lovely cook) and coffee ready. That afternoon we went out for a surf session, waves were a comfortable size, but unfortunately closing out a bit. Overall the beach was beautiful with long white stetches on either side and hardly any people, down to the left there was a little estuary that was fun to visit and on the tight were some beautiful tidepools. The house felt very comfortable, had all the amenities we needed, and felt very safe, there were many spaces with shade where you were able to relax when it was too hot, including a small pool. I recommend not messing with any bees around the property but that was the only problem we had. All in all the house was a great place for our weekend and i would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a reasonably priced property with a large area to live in.
