Weneki's Island Paradise is an oceanfront complex, ground floor condo with a garden/pool view and just steps from access to the ocean. Located in Honokowai, just 5 minutes from Lahaina. 1 bedroom furnished with a Cal-King bed, 1 bath with tub/shower combo, a queen-size sleeper sofa, fully-equipped and updated kitchen with granite countertops, TV/DVD/Wi-fi, and access to many local amenities including dining, a local farmers market, grocery stores, shopping, night life, art galleries, and fishing & snorkel rentals. Hale Ono Loa is quiet, uncrowded, and provides access to amenities such as a BBQ area, swimming pool, sundeck, shuffleboard, and on-site laundry facilities. The complex allows ocean access for swimming, snorkeling, fishing, surfing, and wildlife observation. About Wendy Hibbs

Terry and Wendy Hibbs are small business owners from the tiny mountain town of Salida, Colorado. Terry operates a crane company known locally as Terry's Crane & Rigging, and Wendy does all the behind-the-scenes book work for the business. In addition to this, they have also raised a family of 2 girls and 1 boy, and are now proud grandparents of 3 grandchildren! They enjoy travelling, spending time with their children and grandchildren, and running their business.

Why Wendy Hibbs chose West Maui

Terry and Wendy Hibbs grew up in the small mountain town of Salida, Colorado. Their first visit to Hawaii was on their honeymoon, and they've been coming back ever since. Their dream of owning property on Maui was finally realized in 2009 when they bought their personal condo at the Hale Ono Loa complex. They fell in love with the location and the community, and in 2013 undertook the venture of purchasing another condo as a vacation rental property. They are still currently living in Salida, but whenever they want to escape the wintry mountains of Colorado, they can be found on Maui, enjoying their own little piece of island paradise!

What makes this condo unique

The Hale Ono Loa complex first grabbed Terry & Wendy's eye on one of their vacation trips to Maui with their family. It was located in such a quaint, quiet little area, it gave them the feeling of home. The beautiful ocean view and the gentle crashing of the waves on the shore contributed to the serene, peaceful escape they sought when visiting Hawaii. The convenient location of the property to multiple beaches, various local amenities, and the island town of Lahaina sealed the deal for them, and is what makes this property so ideal for everyone's dream island vacation!

Clean, comfortable and perfect for a small family!

Wendy was very helpful in getting everything booked and she checked in with us throughout our stay to see if we needed anything. We love that this unit is on the ground floor for easy access to the pool and parking lot. Having grass out in front of the lanai was nice too. We really appreciated that the unit came with a playpen and high chair which were both in excellent condition and perfect for out little ones. The king sized bed was very comfortable for us adults too! The shower could use some updating (a removable shower head would have been nice) but everything was clean and comfortable otherwise.

ThE building is in a great location, with just a short drive to the grocery store and to the lovely city of Lahaina. Right out front of the building there is a beach but only in the morning. There are always turtles swimming out there!! Unfortunately the water is a bit murky so the snorkeling isn't great out front but there is a bay about 10min away that is awesome for it!!

All in all we had a wonderful time in Maui and would definitely recommend Wendy's unit to others! It's excellent value and great customer relations.

Amazing Getaway

Aloha Wendy. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your condo. We had an amazing time. This trip was our first experience with VRBO and we definitely will be doing it again. You made everything so easy from booking to payment to check in. You have the perfect location, easy to find, quiet neighborhood, walking distance to farmers market, coffee house and the beach. You are so thoughtful with the welcoming box of Hawaiian chocolates, parking pass, cupboards stocked with essentials and snorkeling, beach toys and beach chairs. The beach towels were nice so we did not have to pack our own. After a long day of exploring your beautiful island, it was nice to come home to a super comfy huge bed. If we are fortunate enough to return to Maui, we definitely hope your condo will be available. Mahalo

J'ai adoré mon séjour dans ce condo. Je le recommande à tous. Bien situé, pres d'une épicerie et à quelques minutes d'une pharmacie et autres magasins. Grand condo , très confortable, lit très confortable et vue sur la cour et la piscine. On peut entendre le bruit des vagues. Rapport qualité prix numéro 1. Si je reviens , je retournerais à cet endroit.

Great value, clean and comfortable

This is our 2nd year back at Hale Ona Loa, this suite is very well maintained. Bed and pull out very comfortable. Very clean with great amenities. Nice garden and pool view, we will miss the birds every morning to say hello. Wendy the owner made the booking process very easy. Great value for us as Canadians as our dollar is not the greatest. We will be back :).

Comfortable, affordable, lovely

My husband and I have spent a month in this condo and have been so pleased with the condo (comfortable bed, good TV, small but serviceable kitchen and bathroom, lovely lanai), the location (close to small commercial area and beach), and the pool and observation deck. Although it does not have a direct view of the ocean (you can hear it, however), the pool and garden view is lovely. The condo is in an older complex, quiet with friendly people (you meet them at the new bbq grills), with beautiful grounds that are carefully tended. We have enjoyed the pool which is always clean and the observation deck for sunning, watching whales and turtles, and enjoying the spectacular sunsets. We have explored more than a dozen beaches ( fantastic), the Road to Hana (don't go if you get carsick), and the trip up the volcano. Our only complaint is the HIGH cost of food so we recommend shopping at Costco (so we hear) or Safeway before you arrive. There is a fun pizza guy in the parking lot of a nearby shopping center and some reasonable take-out in a local deli. Wendy has stocked the outdoor closet with everything you need for the beach and pool including chairs, floats, snorkel sets, beach towels. She is extraordinarily responsive to questions and is obviously concerned with the happiness of her guests. I appreciated that! I highly recommend this cozy condo and should we return to Maui, we would certainly stay here again.

Great home and a super value

All I can say about this condo is....IT IS GREAT!!! Everything from the comfort of the bed, the ease of the kitchen, the decor and the grounds of the complex are great...I will definitely recommend anyone to stay here you will not be disappointed...Wendy is easy to work with and is prompt in responding to any questions. This condo will stay on my must stay in again list for my next visit to Maui.
