Beachfront Cabin on Whidbey Island

Bedrooms 2
Space 700 sq. ft.
Property type cabin
Minimum Stay 2 - 4 nights

About the property

2 bedroom, 1 bath beachfront cabin

Come unplug, relax, recharge and de-stress at this beach retreat on central Whidbey Island! Walk along the beach and enjoy the views of the Olympic Mountains, Puget Sound, and watch the ferry cross back and forth between Coupeville and Port Townsend. Visit nearby Fort Casey State Park or the Crockett Lake bird sanctuary. There are many outdoor activities to choose from, as well as good food, services, unique shops and even a whale museum!

The cabin is small, cozy and cute. With great windows for beach and water views! Open kitchen living and dining space, with two bedrooms and one full bath. The larger bedroom has a King size bed, closet and dresser. The 2nd bedroom, just off of the dining area, is smaller with a queen bed, dresser and closet. Brand new mattresses were purchased for both beds in the fall of 2016. The full size bathroom is located between the two bedrooms. Keystone avenue follows the water and is a quiet road that allows for a nice stroll if you don't want to walk on the rocky beach.

Shopping, eating, wine tasting, hiking, biking, parks, water fun etc. is all close by! Take the nearby ferry to Port Townsend - you don't even need to take your car. The town that almost was Seattle, is full of great shops, dining ,and history! Other fun things there include a theater, wooden boat center, marina, museums, Fort Warden... with local tours available.

Shopping and dining opportunities can also be found in nearby Coupeville, as well as Oak Harbor, Greenbank, Freeland and Langley. Coupeville is the oldest town in Washington State, and a great home base for exploring locally.

Whidbey Island is also in close proximity to Seattle, Anacortes, and the San Juan Islands for an enjoyable day trip. From arts, farmers markets, music, and seasonal events such as winery, farm and art tours, to apple pressing, parades, welcoming the whales, etc. there is often many more activities happening around here than one can possibly partake in!

So come unplug, and unwind and get reconnected with yourself, a loved one or friend. The busy world will still be there when you get back, but you will be better able to handle it!

gorgeous view

  • 4 of 5

Loved the cabin; the location; the view. Loved being able to walk right to the water and enjoy the peaceful setting. Everything was great. Only complaint was seeing some spiders and webs around the cabin. Also; looking under the bed found a medicine pill from a previous guest; thankfully my toddler didn't get it. Just needs a deep cleaning. Had a wonderful stay!

Terrific beachfront cabin

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I spent four nights here, and we were very pleased. The big wall of windows were note worthy. We saw dolphins every day. The view of Admiralty Bay and Straight was very entertaining. The beach itself is pretty sloped and very rocky. We went elsewhere for beach walking. The cabin was a very clean and comfortable place. We enjoyed the cabin so much that we stayed in quite a lot, rather than engaging in the general running around we like to do on Whidbey Island. There were a few items missing from the proposed inventory. There was no iron, which was inconvenient as we had a wedding to attend. The was no DVD player and we had brought some movies. The lid was missing from the outdoor garbage can, which could be a problem. Overall I think my wife and I would happily return to this relaxing site.

Wonderful View.

The house need to be updated and remodel! Other rentals the houses on the same street are far superior and nicer for the same price!

Owner's Response: I am sorry you didn't feel as though this was a good value for you. Since it was your 4th or 5th stay (per your email), it seems odd to me that the cabin was not what you expected. Not sure if you noticed the following things that have been done since your last visit: new tile floor throughout the main area, new stove (Aug 2017), new mattresses (2017), new outdoor table... just to name a few. Having said that, we are a beach “cabin”.If that is not what you are looking for, then this may not be a good fit. We certainly are not pretending to be something that we're not. For future renters, it’s very easy to compare rates for houses along the beach when you are doing your search. Yes, there are several higher end homes close by, but to say that “they are far superior and nicer for the same price!” is a little misleading.

August 20-24

  • 5 of 5

Julie and I with Dick and Carol, our friends from lndiana, thoroughly enjoyed the coziness of the cottage, would have enjoyed the the eclipse, except Julie was fighting a Salmon from the beach behind the cottage. A great location in the middle of Whidbey, we plan to return in August 2019.

Thank you.

Summertime retreat

  • 4 of 5

The cabin is modest and somewhat rustic however it was clean and extremely welcoming. The location was great and the large bank of windows offered a spectacular ocean view with the Olympic Mtns as a backdrop - WOW. Every morning I sipped on my cup of coffee and watched the porpoises feed immediately in front of the cabin. The only limitation was strolling up or down the beach as the rocky shore and private beach front property didn't allow for this. Having said that, Fort Casey and other locations were nearby to satisfy our beachcombing desires. There were numerous other pluses to this property and bottom-line: I would not hesitate to return.

Owner's Response: Thank you for taking the time to review our Keystone beach cabin. The beach is rocky for sure. I will make sure that is clear in the description so nobody is surprised by it. Glad you enjoyed your stay and hope you can come again!
