About the property

Newly Remodeled 1BR/1BA Ocean Front Cabin That Sleeps 5 - Introductory Rates

Maple Cove Hideaway is magical! The entire front of the house is covered in glass allowing unobstructed water views out to Camano Island, Hat Island and the snow capped Cascades, including Mt. Baker, in the background. The end of road privacy combined with the sensational views is truly amazing! Double french doors open from the family room on to a large, 500 square foot deck that brings you even closer to the water. Enjoy a cup of coffee on the deck and watch the sunrise over the Cascades, have a meal at the table overlooking the water or leave the french doors open to bring the outside in.

The cabin is less than two miles from the charming artist town of Langley. Great restaurants, a micro brewery, coffee shops, shopping, grocery store, live theater and an old fashioned movie theater are just some of the attractions in Langley.

The cabin is new on the rental market and has recently been completely remodeled from roof to foundation. It's very cozy with a gas fireplace and a modern rustic vibe. A fully equipped kitchen is only missing your mad cooking skills and ingredients from the local farmers market to produce gourmet meals. The super automatic espresso machine will be ready to go with fresh coffee beans. Curl up in the cozy family room to watch a movie (Netflix is provided) or be entertained by the "Amazon Echo".

There is a sleeping loft upstairs with a comfy queen size bed and an extra long twin bed. There is also a queen, high quality sofa bed in the family room. This is not your typical marginal sofa bed; it's very comfortable. Two floor to ceiling windows upstairs provide a great place to watch the world go by.

Connectivity is great with high speed internet and blue tooth connectivity to the large flat screen TV and sound bar with subwoofer to play your music from your phone. There are four conveniently located USB ports to charge your devices.

The cabin is accessible by car from the south via a 15 minute Mukilteo/Clinton ferry, from the north by crossing over the Deception pass bridge or from the west via the Port Townsend/Coupeville ferry. Once on the island drive times are approx.10 minutes from Clinton, 25 minutes from Coupeville and 1 hour from Deception pass. Regardless of how you get to the island you will immediately experience the slower pace of life on Whidbey and the friendly, welcoming residents.

There is so much to explore on the island. Go out for the day and come home to your amazing cozy cottage or stay in all day and unwind with a book, a good friend, a bottle of wine and enjoy the beauty and serenity of Whidbey Island and the Puget Sound. Maybe you will see a whale, a bald eagle or an awesome sunrise. Regardless, you will leave inspired. Let this be your relaxing home away from home. See you soon!

About Property Manager/Owner

We live in the Santa Cruz Mountains of California and have lovingly rescued and restored the Maple Cove Cottage to be a place of relaxation, rejuvenation and inspiration. We have been visiting the Puget Sound for decades and have entertained the notion of owning a vacation home on the water for many years. After a lengthy search we found the perfect restoration project in the Maple Cove Cottage. We put our hearts and soles into transforming a bare-bones family cabin into a truly remarkable cottage and could not be more thrilled with the results. We trust that you find it as wonderful as we do.

Property Manager/Owner purchased this house in 2017

Why Property Manager/Owner chose Langley

We wanted something small and cozy with great water views. After months of renovation, the Maple Cove Cottage is everything we dreamed of.

What makes this house unique

*Whale Watching - The Mystic Sea offers Gray Whale watching trips from March 9 through April 29 from Langley Harbor.

*Come see Langley's wild bunnies and celebrate Bunny Daze throughout downtown Langley from March 26-31.

*Orca's are often seen from Whidbey Island from Fall into early winter. We have also seen them from our cabin in the summer!

Peace and Quiet with a million dollar view!!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I are from the Dallas/Ft Worth area and decided to choose the Pacific Northwest as our destination for our 10 yr Anniversary. The Maple Cove Hideaway was Perfect in every way! Comfy and Cozy with lots of privacy. Great kitchen and appliances with everything you need to cook an awesome meal. Our favorite part was making coffee and taking in the most amazing view ever of the Puget Sound! We were lucky to to even spot a couple of whales, bald eagles, several bunnies, deer, and we even heard what sounded like a seal just steps away from the deck down on the shoreline. This place is nothing short of 5 stars and one of our most favorite places we have stayed! It is just close enough to the beautiful little town of Langley, which is like one of those small fishing town you would see in a movie, yet just far enough to feel like you have your own spot to yourself. We absolutely loved this house and the entire island! When we decide to come back, we already know where we will be staying and that is the Maple Cove Hideaway!

Charming Whidbey Cabin with a view

  • 5 of 5

Loved our "home away stay"! Cozy, well-appointed design, very clean, comfortable, organized and welcoming! All the extra touches. Everything you need to stay a week/weekend! Perfect for a couple to getaway or for small families to enjoy exploring the area.

Great communication with Cyndi & Craig, as well as caretaker Joe.

The location has fantastic views from the expansive windows or the deck. Lots of wildlife to be seen (eagles, whales and seals) every day, or on a short walk to the beach to stroll.

Langley is a charmed community with gardens, artwork, shops, eateries and little grocery stores for any needs you may have (incl. gluten free!) to stay in and really enjoy all the charms of the house.

The Island was fun to explore - easy to navigate - you pick - open space, community or state parks, landmarks, beaches, & wineries (be sure to get a state parks pass to visit Fort Casey, Admiral Head, Deception Pass, etc). Well worth a few days of wandering and relaxing in comfort!

Special Thanks to Joe for sending us back our daughters favorite travel blanket! Can't say enough about how nice our stay was - thanks for your help in making our Spring Break so relaxing and memorable.

Heaven on Earth!

  • 5 of 5

This cottage was everything we'd hope for and more. It was pristine clean, and had every amenity you could have ever needed. The views from the living room and dining room/kitchen were spectacular, breath taking actually, complete with a beautiful bald eagle soaring over the Sound. The snow capped view of the Cascades were amazing! From the moment we arrived until the time we left we were at peace and restful. We love the fact that the cottage is at the end of a dead end street, with total privacy and that is exactly what we wanted. The property manager, Joe was helpful but totally respectful of our privacy. We look forward to many visits in the future and we will, if possible, always choose this beautiful cottage for our romantic get-aways. Our sincere thanks goes out to the owners of this special place for thinking of everything and doing their best to make us feel at home and welcomed.

Gorgeous island retreat

  • 5 of 5

We are already planning our return trip to this immaculate little spot. Well-appointed with high end appliances, everything you need to cook gourmet romantic meals, thoughtful details, and cozy chairs by the fireplace - you will love this cabin. During our stay, the view was so breathtaking we could barely pull ourselves away to walk the nearby public beach and walk into town. The owners left us a lovely bottle of wine for our anniversary and the onsite caretakers were there to answer all our questions while respecting our privacy and remaining perfectly unobtrusive. All in all, a lovely anniversary we will always remember. (Forgot to mention: loved watching the dolphins from the convenient vantage point of the comfy sofa).
