Wonderful location, quiet and relatively secluded from the crowds of Double Bluff Beach Park. Home was clean, well equipped and met the needs of our family perfectly. Our dog absolutely loved his off-leash beach time!

Humans and dogs agree...Double Bluff Beach Club is the place to be!
Great location, our dog loved the off-leash beach down the steps! Had plenty of space for our family of five. Had perfect weather to go beach combing and making structures out of the driftwood.
The Double bluff beach club is very special. It is an older home that has been remodeled and has a lot of character. It is such a beautiful location on double bluff beach and the view from every room of the home and the cabin are wonderful! It is clear that the owners were very thoughtful in their remodel. The furniture, towels and bed linens are clean. The kitchen is well stocked; we found everything we needed. It should be clearly noted in the listing the amount of stairs to get to the cabin. We did well with the stairs going to the home and also going from the main floor downstairs however, it will not be suitable for people with mobility challenges. All suitcases and food need to be carried up approximately 3 flights of stairs, then you can have a glass of wine and enjoy the view!

It is always a balance figuring out how to honor the past when updating an older beach home like Double Bluff Beach Club. We can't get around the stairs (althought they offer a great workout opportunity) but are so glad our guests appreciate the careful updates and refreshed amenities of our cabin on the beach.
This was our second stay here and we absolutely loved it again. The view and location just can’t be beat. The house is small, but with the large deck and the beach right there, it’s just right for a family of four.
We really enjoyed our stay, will definitely come back. The house was cozy for 8 people, but it worked fine. The updated kitchen and bathrooms were great. The best part of the trip may have been having a front row view to watch the kite surfers.
Great stay! Loved the beach access, good views and very quiet and relaxing. Loved the wildlife . The house had everything we needed and we really enjoyed sitting on the deck watching the cruise ships come in and out of Seattle.
Super flexible host. Incredible views and cozy cabin vibes, total privacy and secluded feel. Access to beach an adventure and fun. The area has so much to do, and watching kite surfers was a blast. Mt Rainier looms in the distance.Would be nice to have electric vehicle charging availability (allow cars to pull up to meter).Thank you!

We are so glad you enjoyed your stay. The views from the house and deck are pretty amazing! Windy, sunny and every day in between, there is something for everyone at Double Bluff Beach Club!
This property is in a wonderful quiet location. The access to the beach and the views of the bay are amazing. The house is old and access to the house is up a lot of stairs, but that wasn’t a problem for our group. When we stayed in August there was quite a few wasps around the property which limited our time down on the grassy area, some wasp traps would be a good idea. Otherwise another great stay for us!
Lots of natural beauty, quiet and peaceful.Long walks along the beach with a variety of sea birds and interesting tide pools were a highlight.Lots of stairs leading up to the cabin made for a good workout but not for those with limited mobility.Perhaps a tea kettle and strainer for those who like tea.Otherwise a wonderful week of rest and relaxation!
We booked this place and when we arrived we couldn’t believe it. It was incredible. I just couldn’t take my eyes off that view. The amenities were lovely. We will be back!

We agree that the view is one of a kind. We are so happy when our guest appreciate the beauty and charm of our cabin!
Just to clarify, our 3.5-acre property is right on the beach however the cabin sits back about 300 feet from the actual high tide mark and is perched beautifully up on the hill. The position of the cabin makes the view AMAZING but there are around 50 stairs to get to the front door.
Had a terrific time—views phenomenal, deck amazing. Easy access to amazing beach.

The view from the elevated deck is one of our most cherished amenities by many of our guests. The direct beach access is so convenient to walk for miles, play catch, go crabbing, throw a frisby to your dog or whatever else you can inagine!
Loved the view and location. The host communicated clearly and answered all our questions.

About the host
Hosted by Paul Tschetter
Two families purchased this home in late 2012 after meeting through a shared interest in kiteboarding. One of the families lives right here on Whidbey Island. The other family live in Seattle. We love Whidbey Island and especially Useless Bay!
Why they chose this property
Useless Bay is unmatched, and this property is amazing! The remodel was a serious labor of love, but it was well-worth the effort. We had a vision for this dusty old diamond in the rough; we believed it could be updated and enjoyed by future generations of families.
What makes this property unique
The cabin sits perched 40' up on Double Buff, but it still has direct waterfront access. The lot is 200' wide and over 3 acres. It's beautiful! World class kiteboarding can be accessed right in front of the cabin October thru April. The property is literally surrounded by 100s of acres of county and state land where you can explore miles of beach and public tidelands year round.
