Very nice house close to downtown
Location is key for this house. Walkable to downtown
Thanks for the positive review! Is there anything we can add to get full 5 stars?
If so, please let us know so we can keep offering the best hospitality possible.
Such a wonderful stay!
We stayed at this wonderful house for a weekend in June 2016. The house was immacutely clean, very comfortable and stocked with everything one needs! The living/sitting area was a little small, but the kitchen was huge and a great place for a group to spend time. The bedrooms were nicely appointed, they were reasonably sized and the bathroom was super modern and really large.
I would definitely stay again and highly recommend it.
Great Location to the Square!
We picked the Porch Light property for its proximity to the square and the location was just as described! The convenience of just a few blocks made walking to dinner and the wine festival perfect!. The house was spacious, large kitchen and bath and beds were comfortable. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone who doesn't want to drive to enjoy the restaurants/wine tastings in downtown Paso. I would stay here again, but may I suggest a ceiling fan in the front bedroom?
Thanks for the tip! You’re not the first to suggest a fan in the front bedroom and we hesitated because of the heirloom antique ceiling light fixture in that room. This home’s renovation preserved its original key accents dating back to 1930 when the house was originally built. We thought the two windows on separate corners could create a cross breeze but we will get a portable fan for guests who prefer bladed air flow. Hope this helps.
Charming and well located
Perfect for a girlfriends' weekend getaway or for a couple couples. Super clean with everything you need. Love the sitting porches in front and back. A nice touch. Comfy sitting areas and beds. And so conveniently located to downtown. Very nice!
Comfortable and close to downtown...
Nice little corner bungalow was right on a corner a couple short blocks from old downtown. Was well equipped, very clean, and nicely decorated. House was originally built in 1930s but nicely updated. Real plaster walls made the temperature very comfortable night and day.
We spent time on the big porch with our wine, and the kitchen/dining was great. We seemed to be lacking seating in the living/family spaces, but as we were out enjoying the town most evenings and had kitchen/porch morning and afternoon, so was not a deterrent. Hatch and Il Cortile are walking distance...(!)
We were a little concerned about location on the 'wrong' side of Spring Street, but was unfounded. Was convenient and closer to highway access and the park. Felt very safe and comfortable the whole time. Would recommend for any long wine weekend...
Thanks for the excellent description and thoughtful suggestion about seating. We have added a side chair next to the couch for parties of 4.
Hope this helps when considering Porch Light Lodge for your next trip.
Great home base for weekend wine escape
The Porch Light Lodge was a convenient, centrally located choice for our Paso Robles wine escape. A quick 4 block walk downtown took us to shops, restaurants, and of course, wine tasting! The house was larger than I expected. It is simply furnished and the kitchen was more than adequate. The bathroom was large and clean. The unique keyless entry system was great!
